  1. I can't imagine us passing Williams if he's anything close to the athlete that Peppers is. We'll have to wait until the combine answers those questions. I also can't see Williams dropping to us either but who knows. I'm not convinced that Hali is the same DE as Freeney but again we'd have to his combine numbers. I think it would be easier to draft OT and sign a DT (And cheaper) because of how deep this draft is at OT and how hard it would be to shore up OT via FA. There are two players dropping that I think would be huge steals if we could trade up into the 1st round for them -- DT Rodrique Wright and OT Eric Winston. anyone who says he's lazy and an underachiever needs to look at the numbers he has produced. I mean the guy had 7.5 sacks a couple of seasons ago and a season ago he was hampered by injury (Not sure what his total is this season). Winston would be a risk but he'd end the need for a LT for the next 6 years. In the end I think we'll likey end up with D'Brickshaw Ferguson since there really are 7 players better than him in the draft (Bush, Leinart, Young, Hawk, Williams, J. Williams and D. Williams) due to the needs of teams above us. Out of the top 5 teams above us (Forget the top two who will draft Bush and Leinart 1-2) only TEN and NYJ have a real need at LT but how can they pass up players like Young or Williams or Hawk of J. Williams? My guess is that they won't and we'll end up solving our LT problem. i'm really not too worried about our first pick as much as I am our second. We could easily trade up a couple spots and solve our DT problem or stand pat and draft an interior OL and depending on what's on the board that wouldn't be a bad call. If Wright is their I think you've got to go get him but he likely won't be after people see him at the combines.
  2. No brainer -- Vince Young. The David Carr+On Offensive Line experiment is officially over. Someone would be willing to take on David Carr and his contract -- my guess is Oakland would bite.
  3. They used a spy but its pretty hard to be effective with broken ankles after getting faked out of your cleats.
  4. For some reason I see Mario Williams as a LDE in a 3-4 much like former Oklahoma St. DT Kevin Williams who was switched to LDE by MIN once drafted. I'll have to see his combine numbers before I can compare him to Peppers because he is so athlethic and has so much burst. I'm just not sold on Ngata yet and can't see him getting by OAK anyway.
  5. Lazy slob? That's BS. He's just massive and he may not have the quickness to play LT in the NFL -- but he started out as a RT so he can always go back.
  6. This is the first mock draft that slots OT Eric Winston realistically. Here's to hoping we can trade up into the 1st round and grab him if he drops that far.
  7. I can understand why we dumped Tom Donahoe after the guy did ZILCH to shore up our OL in preparation for breaking in a new QB as well as some questionable picks (RB Travis Henry over DT Shaun Rogers et al) but why not clean house and bring in a proven HC like Mike Sherman who can actualy coach? My problem with both Willaims and Mularkey are primarily play calling and clock management and to me a guy like Sherman solves that. I am also still trying to find how making Marv Levy our GM adds anything to our ability to win and improve our roster. I guess we will see.
  8. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. No, that's Pete Carrol.
  9. If I bring in a college coach the first guy I interview is Pat Hill.
  10. ".....makes plays...." Actually it doesn't at all.
  11. I've watched him a lot -- and he's the best Dt prospect in the country hands down.
  12. Its funny becuase I think I've heard the same thing about McNair, Culpepper and Vick before they came out. To me Young is a combination of all three of those player's strong points and to say that he doesn't read defenses doesn't mean he can never learn -- its just at the college level he can win games by making plays. I'll take a mobile QB who can make plays with their arm and feet just as quickly as I would an accurate strong armed passer but Leinart is neither. He's not "noodle armed" as some people have claimed but I'd still take Young over him.
  13. McClover has already announced he will return for his senior season along with WR Courtney Taylor. He and DE Mauques Gunn could go in the first round of next years draft -- they look to be Kearse-type DE's who can dominate a game.
  14. He likely won't be there but he's who I would take.
  15. No. he should be fired for beating Cincy to save his job at the expense of the immediate future of the franchise.
  16. 8th. SF and Oak will flip a coin for the 6th spot. Looking at the winning pct's we would've had the 3rd pick if we had lost to Cincy and would've had teams beating our door down for Leinart. MM sucks.
  17. This draft may not have a Julius Peppers that we miss out on due to an ill-timed win but it had Matt Leinart who many teams covet and we could've gotten an a$$load of picks for. If there was ever a reason to fire MM the victory over Cincy was it. He essentially chose saving his a$$ over turning this franchise around.
  18. I'd rank Young above Leinart and I still think Wright is the better DT in the draft. I do think we could trade down and grab our OT but the problem is going to be finding someone. The win vs. Cincy KILLED us because we likely would've had the no.3 pick.
  19. 1. Texans--Reggie Bush,RB/WR 2. Saints--Matt Leinert,QB 3. Titans--Vince Young,QB 4. Jets--Mario Williams,DE 5. Packers--AJ Hawk,LB 6. 49ers--D'Brickshaw Fersuson,OT 7. Raiders--Haloti Ngata,DT 8. Rams--Jimmy Williams,CB 9. Bills--Rod Wright,DT I think if Texas wins Young comes out and I obviously think Texas wins. I also think USC players will spend more time in the whirlpool after this game than they have in their entire lives.
  20. In a draft that has Ferguson, McNeill, Winston, Scott, O'Callaghan, Justice and Colledge available at OT and only Wright, Ngata and Watson as impact DT's I'd say that the exact opposite is true. That win against the Bengals set us back a couple of drafts as we could have likely traded out of our pick with Leinart on the board and filled nearly all our critical needs in a single draft which is almost unheard of.
  21. NO announced they were taking Leinart when they benched Brooks. Add the possibility that they'll be in LA in the next year or so and its a done deal.
  22. That win saved MM and set us back YEARS. Mark my words -- we will beat the Jets and draft in the middle of the round and end up with one impact player in this draft vs three.
  23. I can't see them being around at our pick which will most likely be in 10-14.
  24. The 2nd most ill-timed win in Bills history last weekend took us out of the running for an impact player or what could've been the best case scenario of the 2nd overall pick with teams trading up for Leinart. We could reach at our pick for an OT but who knows.
  25. What's up PISSCHUNK? Haven't seen you on here in awhile.
