So now we're back to linear comparisons of countries with <40 mil populations to one with 330 million?

Interesting how factual posts that challenge the official narrative go poof. I'm out of this thread

It would be helpful if people used the more appropriate description of presymptomatic vs asymptomatic. To me there's a huge difference. In any event, I'm not aware of any Typhoid Mary cases that have been uncovered.

Trump Wants To Regulate Google
GG replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Too late, NBC exposed the industry to restraint of trade shenanigans. If Google's policy is that comments must be moderated to receive ad revenue, the same standard has to apply to any other entity that receives AdSense. Pyrrhic victory for NBC as they say. -
That's the issue - You read the first stories that talked about returning infections, but not the retractions that followed which said there were no recurring infections, and the data was wrong.

I doubt that the activist NBC reporter fully understood what she just did. I'm guessing that she didn't vet her actions past Comcast's Gov't Affairs or Compliance. -
That would have been the most "logical" conclusion to the data trends. Imagine what happens when a state isn't run by a bunch of incompetent pandering blood-on-their-hands morons.

Oh, the optics are far worse than that, especially with the gutting of the Amerks. You don't give the vote of confidence by saying that there are many good things behind the scenes that the public may not be aware of, and then you fire the guy a week later. It's doubly awful to get rid of your entire minor league staff, when you've spent a year telling everyone how for the first time in eons, the minor league was in full step with the major league. Who knows, maybe the Pilut defection was the final determination that Botts was clueless in roster management.

In a rare moment regarding Sabres, we are in agreement. My belief is that Ralph will be more active in personnel decisions.

This could be true if Trump had a clear mandate from the electorate when he was elected. It's a much different story when you frame it as 50% is completely opposed to him personally. You may think that he's pandering to the 12%, but that 12% is getting full-throated support from at least 38%. when you don't have a clear mandate and you're facing hostile resistance, your options are very limited. You could look at it as a shock that he's been able to deliver on anything given the quicksand that's paved for him (not that he's adept in helping himself out anyway)

Are they run by the black sheep of the Carnegie clan in how to alienate friends and beg for a heavy-handed regulatory response? -
The primary avenue for spreading the virus is in a closely confined space. That would be the locker room or the training facility. In this, there's far less difference for potential exposure between soccer & NFL football facilities.

Then do you find it odd that the people who want to reopen the economy ASAP are from the right leaning circles, but the lockdowns proponents are on the left and in the areas that will be mostly negatively affected by longer closures?

Are we ramping up to war with North Korea?

I know, WTC went down much faster ? -
Please explain this oddity. The Botts' mis-hiring is not an indication of Murray's failures.

The proverbial kiss of death! I think the reaction from the press after Kim's support finally opened up the owners' eyes.

Panic porn refers to the penchant for those in charge to only accentuate the negative side the virus and its risks. If people in charge were as even handed as you in providing the full set of information, we'd be having a different discussion. You can attribute whatever reason you want to why there's a greater propensity for fear-mongering, despite emerging evidence that we have long passed the peak. I also question the probabilities of the worst case outcomes for the league. Those statistics assume that all the players get infected, which is inconsistent with how the virus has spread. I also think the NFL's approach of allowing teams to stay in their facilities is much safer than what NBA & NHL are proposing for a single sports campus. In any event, Bundesliga is a good example to monitor. When training resumed in May, there were a handful of staffers who were positive, but after remediation, the league has generally stayed clean. No reason to think that NFL will suffer a much more severe outbreak than what's happening in Germany.

Turns out it was accidental.

Similar to the Denmark study, AFAIK.

What exactly did he do to NYS/NYC public run hospitals? How was the death parade yesterday?
