He probably started out as a little bottom. I'm guessing he's bigger now.

There are no perfect conditions, that's why the schools need to minimize as much of the risk as possible but still have the goal of having kids back in the classrooms.
-
So you agree with CDC and the pediatricians that it's better for the kids to be back at school, right?

The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency
GG replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
CBS News Sunday Morning toady had a long segment about the 19th Amendment. Susan B Anthony's name was mentioned once, and in passing. -
It's funny how one side keeps screaming that we should be listening to doctors and scientists* * Except pediatricians and psychologists who warn of the dangers of keeping kids locked up at home.

When you act like an idiot, don't be surprised to be called one. The data is clear. With more information known about the disease, the mortality rate is about 2x-4x that of the flu, and not 50x which was the case in March. It is highly concentrated among a very vulnerable population, which can and should be protected. Meanwhile, the lockdowns have now accounted for an additional 50K of excess deaths and those are climbing faster than Wuhan deaths. So tell me the logic of continuing the strict lockdowns which certainly affect a different segment of the population and are much more widespread and severe. And speaking of personal choice, please enlighten me of children who choose to be abused by bad parents or spouses who are stuck in an abusive situation? Keep pretending that you're on the moral high ground because you "care" about Covid.

Glad that you think that people who die from other causes don't matter. Another grave dancer. Not surprised.

What about increased suicides, overdoses, preventative treatments, spousal abuse, child abuse? Did those suddenly vanish?

Why is this a surprise, this is exactly what happened at NYC's peak.

If I may rephrase - I didn't expect the left to unite behind a POTUS from the opposite party, which never really happened on either side (except national emergencies). But in nearly every case before, the opposition waited until the next election to balance out the scales. The main difference to me this time was a quasi rebellion from day one.

Madrid was not leading in new cases until a few days ago, which were in Andalucia and Aragon. The troubling trend in Madrid has to be watched, as it's one of the few cases of a rebound in cases in a previously hard hit area. At some point you have to do your own interpretation of the data and not rely fully on what's being spoonfed. Case in point is the excess death debate. Why is it necessary to wait for CDC confirmation, when you can triangulate into the numbers from other data points? The leading causes of death for people under 45 are unintended injuries, suicides and homicides. Given the perverse incentive to attribute as many deaths as possible to Wuhan, you'd be seeing a hell of a lot more statistics about <45 yr old Wuhan deaths. But since you're not seeing that, and insurance companies are reporting far fewer driving deaths since the lockdowns began, would lead to a logical conclusion that the excess deaths are caused by the other factors that are common among the <45 crowd.

The data is becoming more clear by the day as we're seven months into a pandemic. The lockdown was needed to buy time to "flatten the curve" and figure out the most effective treatments. All of those were accomplished by the end of May. The entire country should have started a staged reopening at that time, with everything in place to return to normal by September. During that time, the virus would have spread in the previously unaffected regions, but would be weaker in the summertime, and more importantly only affect the younger and healthier part of the population. For all the screaming about the Sunbelt outbreak, FL & TX mortality is below the national average, while AZ is just above it. None are anywhere near where the Northeast was in the spring. This clearly shows that people and the healthcare industry knew how to prepare for and manage the outbreak.

Is it really? It's not that hard to check the links.

Wonder where I saw this pattern before? Coinciding with the pattern of no more comparisons between Europe & US lately.
-
isn’t she a hero of the new leftists? Gun confiscation. Postponing elections. I’ve read this book before.

It is interesting that of all the stage players in this saga, Shchiffty has been very quiet lately.

Of the 40 million people in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts, 1,700 died of Covid on April 17. And your point, Kurt is?
-
Please point me to a country as vast and diverse as the US that is back to “normal.”

They also don't use salt.

And yet the Green New Deal relies on switching all your power needs to the electric grid. People are morons.

I was wondering why I got inundated with perfectly timed QAnon hoax stories from all the major news outlets in the last 24 hrs?
