I get a sense that you're part of the clique that seems a bit upset when the doomsday scenarios don't play out, just because you worried about it. You argue about data manipulation, yet show a graph from beginning of April to end of July. Yet, the data from July is fully consistent with the graph. You clearly didn't look at the actual data that was behind Magox's link. You just looked at the graph and got upset that the 7-day average was a flatline in July. The daily numbers showed modest spikes in hospitalizations, but the main point remains is that Houston managed the situation very well, and now is in a steady decline. Where are the follow up stories that show that the viral spread follows a predictable pattern, and people shouldn't be as scared as they were in early March?
-
The point was that as of July 5th, the scare story was that Houston is about to be overwhelmed, with the apocalypse coming within two weeks. Showing the exponential rise from May is totally misleading, since the point of the criticism is that MSM doesn't go back to follow up on the initial fear porn stories. Houston was not overwhelmed, and if you show a graph from July 5 to today, that graph will look like the one Magox linked.

Speaking of manipulating the data …. That's a scary looking graph, and the mayor would have been correct if he issued that warning in the beginning of June and not July. There was NO significant spike two weeks after Turner went on the air in July. Try harder.

But of course you still pay the full bore NYS tax, even if you don't set foot in NYS.

There are very few populous states that haven't peaked yet, thus on a relative basis the numbers will be small in September.
-
The unofficial GG model has the entire country on the Wuhan downswing by the end of August, now that the most populous states are past the peak. Will be interesting to see the spin once new cases drop precipitously in sept.

I think she was referring to the first term of the DC school public systems. The 1st term ends around election day.

Sounds like you fully support opening up the economy to get us out of the recession.
-
The stimulus checks are masking a disaster in the making. Nobody knows what the employment situation will be when the states reopen and how many small businesses will be around or how many more layoffs will happen at the large companies. the longer the lockdowns linger, the worse the outcome.
-
Actually, the economy is not doing fine by any stretch of the imagination.
-
He knows that he can't delay elections. But he's letting the other side know he won't sit idly, while they actively derail the nation. Apparently, the other side doesn't want to walk & chew gum. So the question remains, what should the president do when the opposition is willing to sacrifice lives?
-
Which is precisely why he did it. There's a concerted effort to keep the economy down, slow the reopenings. Couple that with proposals to change the method of voting and you can see why trump is pushing back. What do you suggest he do? You're complaining about a tweet, while the opposition is willing to sacrifice human lives to defeat him in November?

OK don't call it trolling, but it does put pressure on particular states who are intentionally slow rolling the recovery. It was a shrewd political move.

The Media's Portrayal of Trump and His Presidency
GG replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Which one is the fascist move, btw? -
That was the initial story a month ago that he was a St Paul cop.
-
Could be an interesting gambit. Threaten to delay the election and that may force more states open up sooner.
-
My guess is that @Magox is referring to TSW, not the dark outpost that is PPP

The local and state officials and executives who are actually in charge of the healthcare facilities.

Other than that, how was the play, Mrs Lincoln?

Since you like Covid stories, here are some links for you Child abuse here and there and pretty much everywhere. Deaths of despair you say, yup those on the rise too.
-
Do you? They just move on to the next grave. Must have been a sad day in Kemp & Billstime households when the Sunbelt did a good job with tamping down the severity of the cases. There hope is there will be another state that will repeat the NY disaster.
-
This actually sucks, because it makes it tougher to move him next year, which was the likely plan.

Define misinformation.

Wow, we agree on something.
-
Oh, the politicians knew it. Someone should play a loop of King Andrew's response to a brave journalist's question in April or May about how the extended lockdowns would affect the vulnerable population. He totally dismissed suicides, overdoses and spousal/child abuses as collateral damage that wasn't as bad as Covid.
