  1. Teams trade up because there is a dearth of talent at a position of need. Julio Jones is arguably just as good or better than AJ Green. Prince is arguably just as good or better than Patrick Peterson. Its also doubtful that Mike Holmgren trades up to draft a WR. Taking a perimeter player, like a WR or CB, that early is a risky move, trading up to take a WR, or CB is even riskier. Especially with major ??? at QB.
  2. There are only 14 teams that play the 3-4 in College Football as their base defense, so most draftees are going to have a learning curve. Drake has great reviews, seem like a steal if falls to the 3rd round, I don't know about the #34 pick.
  3. since you asked here are my opinions: Fairely: I like guys that step on other guys when they are down. The Bills need some much needed nastieness if somehow Fairely falls to #3 its a no brainier. The kid makes plays. Dareaus: I've watched Marcell Dareus in atleast 6 games and every game atleast 1 time a game you're left with "how does a guy that big make a play like that." He has all the tools, he will make an impact, and if we play 3-4\4-3 hybrid he can be very versatile. Cam Jordan: Kept coming up late 1st round in mocks through out the regular season. Didn't catch a lot of his play, I watched the Cal Stanford game. Looked like a 1 man wrecking crew at the Senior Bowl. Given that Bowers and Quinn both play in the notoriously weak ACC, and I've seen mostly youtube clips of them (Quinn is a youtube monster) I feel more comfortable with Cam Jordan over Bowers or Quinn. JJ Watt: I watched a few Wisconsin games most to watch Gabe Carimi (and instead was really impressed with Moffit instead {who proved me right and impressed everyone in the Senior Bowl})Fast forwarded a lot on the Wisconsin D. Don't have an opinion not comfortable with the guy at this point in time. Cam Heyward: Going into 2010 season he was in many mocks in the Top10 of the draft, early in the season he fell out of the 1st round in a lot of mocks. I DVRed the OSU games just to watch him play. He finished really strong with a dominant Bowl Game. The kid is a beast but inconsistent. He can turn it on and turn it off sometimes. He has great NFL bloodlines. #3 overall probably isn't going to happen. Not when you have Fairely, Dareaus and now Cam Jordan that I would take over him. He will definitely be a good NFL player though. I personally believe the odds of a bust are low with Fairely, Dareaus and Jordan. A little higher with Heyward and way higher with Bowers & Quinn. My attitude with JJ Watt is, "why bother there are better options, right?" LBs: Von Miller: Will be a good Football player, I don't see anything special about him to be worthy of the #3 overall pick. You can find people with a 95% upside as his later in the draft such as Oklohoma's Jeremy Beal, or Sam Acho. Robert Quinn: Youtube MOnster, ACC sucks, suspended for a year, two many red flags for me to feel comfortable at #3 overall Aldon Smith: From what I read he should have went back for his senior year, but I guess you got to get that paper. Akeem Ayers: Seems like a ferocious tackler on youtube, Seems like one of the most full packages in the crop of LBs, he will be a good NFL player, and in the right position with right coaching he might even be great. Ryan Kerrigan: Looks to me like worst case Chris Kelsay best vase Aaron Schobel. Like them I don't know where Kerrigan fits ins a 3-4 definitely not #3 overall worthy.
  4. I hope they pull through but I bet they just created 7 new millionaires.
  5. Here is a silly question, what specific team is going to want to trade up for what specific player for what specific reason?
  6. I think they're in line right after The Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus, and The Easter Bunny.
  7. No offense Astro, but the grading system you are working on his super subjective and all over the place. You guys might what to go with a more empirical system like the one that cage has laid out. I like cage's "starts" and maybe for certain skill players you set up statistical goals. Like 150 carries and 500 yards for a 1st or second round RB and 50 catches 400 yards for a 1st or second round rookie WR I think Cage is on to something.
  8. This thread is turning into a poorman's McD thread.
  9. Bleacher Report = National Inquirer
  10. Instead of the disclaimer you can post something that takes into account reality. So not only is your post complete and utter nonsense in that it's not likely to happen if there were a CBA in place, it's doubly nonsense because you know it can't actually happen before you posted it. So in Essenes it's a fictional hypothetical that can't possibly come true. And I'm the one that needs to get a Life? "let's trade all of our defensive players for all of Pittsburgh's defenive players, Big Ben, a unicorn and their first , you think they'll do it? " Genius . . .
  11. You need to read up on the CBA, young man. No FA and no players for picks trades until there is a CBA. You can trade picks for picks.
  12. Hey my 1986 Toyota Camry was Boss! Stupid Buffalo Salt killed that car the brake lines and fuel lines rusted out.
  13. For the second time this trade is impossible. There IS NO TRADING PICKS FOR PLAYERS UNTIL A NEW CBA. By the time the CBA closes it'll be too late to bring Kolb in to compete to be a starter, so we trade a 2012 2nd in August for a back up QB? Thumbs down.
  14. Based on two stellar starts in 2009 against the worst defenses in the league? There are no picks for players trades allowed until there is a CBA anyway. So . . . Even if there were picks for players trades allowed, say NO to Rob (curse of the Buffalo Bills franchise) Johnson v 2.0.
  15. He doesn't need money. He just crushed some kid in MMA last night. He seriously might be able to play 3rd down back. If he was willing to play special teams too it's possible he could even make a roster. I'd love to see it.
  16. Dareus may go #2 overall. He is well worth #3 overall. No need to trade down if you want Dareaus. As mentioned earlier drafting a TE is a wasted pick, TE is a great position to full through FA. It's rare for a rookie TE to make an impact. The learning curve is huge from College to the Pros.
  17. After the practices moved to the game I now, would hate #34, would hate #68 and why bother at #99?
  18. Love Didn't look great and he didn't look good in the Sugar Bowl either.
  19. Hankerson obviously made some huge $$$ he just want from late 2nd to early 3rs to late 1st early 2nd. Phil Taylor was a manimal. He went from a 3rd day pick to 2nd day pick. Love that the Bills coaching staff got to work with him 1st hand. Ponder solidifies the 2nd round grade. McCarthy from Miami made some nice plays. Von Miller made some nice plays but really not as many as the coverage over played. The "Highlight reel" looked suspect. Like I've been saying for awhile he will play ILB in the NFL. The Bills staff put him there. No way you take a WILL at #3 overall. Locker can't hit the broadside of a barn. Costanzo and Solder looked major suspect. Solder in particular made some poor plays. Its hard for an O-line to gel immediately though. Jeremy Beal looks super quick. Weird thing was the 1st offside he got was called and I rewound it twice and it looked like he jumped after the Center snapped he was just super fast. The second one that wasn't call he was clearly offside but either way he figured out the snap count. I liked what I saw. Sam Acho (I guy have been big on for awhile now) had a big game, his speed and power were apparent, he got to the QB a few times. I want to wait to adjust my board but I'm starting to lean towards Phil Taylor in the second if he is there. Then Beal or Acho in the 3rd whichever one is there. Would love a trade down to get an extra 2nd to get both Beal and Acho. For an undermanned team Chan and gang did great. Edwards in particular must have done a great job on D. Seems like if you Chan was coaching the North, the North would have gotten the W too.
  20. Based on common observations, concensus, and common sense. If you can't see the grass is green and need proof as to what color the grass is, I can't help you. Its really not a question worth answering. You like your boy Locker's two bigtime 3 and outs in the senior bowl? In the second position, 4 yard running play, crumbles under pressure and fumbles the ball (My boy Acho did make a nice play and Solder looked soldered to the ground, and Carimi was too slow to help), then Locker almost killed Titus Young by overthrowing him and forcing him to stretch and put himself in a vulnerable posistion. But I guess the scouting reports will show what a great leader, and winner Shlocker is and blame it on the poor supporting cast or coaching.
  21. Oops just restatrded the game. Yeah the long ball was underthrown. The TD pass was on the money. My bad. An FSU QB just threw a U WR a TD, weird.
  22. Its because Moffit is the stud and Carimi looks great when the guy next to him is blowing up anybody that comes near him. Carimi will be a good player in the NFL but not the all-pro that Moffit will be imo.
  23. I still don't want him. Unlike some people on this board I realize that I am not the GM of the Buffalo Bills and have no real control over what the Buffalo Bills actually do. When watching the Senior Bowl practices I have been impressed with Kaepernick interviews and throwing ability. My point in that thread is there are lots of needs on this team and drafting a player that only has the potential of being a backup QB in the NFL is not a top priority. Watching Kaepernick in the Senior Bowl has shown me that he might have the potential to do more. Only an idiot would have a static draft board at this time of the year. Lots of new information will be be coming. However I still don't want to pick him. I just wouldn't hate it if it happened. You can see who I actually want to pick right in my signature below. It's not likely I'm going to add a late round QB in there.
  24. Yes it's true that Mallet, Newton and Gabbert have not started an NFL game. I don't know how that makes their NFL potential worse than Clausen, McCoy and Tebow It's not even a close comparison the 2011 draft class has far more potential.
  25. How many interviews of Locker have you watched? How many games have you watched? He sounds like Lennie "I ...I ...I. . . Jus try real hard, George. I's gon be a good QB someday, ain't I George" There is no way an NFL team takes this guy with a 1st. You can read whatever rehash of a rehash of a rehash report you want. It's total drafnik hype. You can also feel uncomfortable as you like about my statement but if you switch skin tones between Cam and Locker. Cam is hyped by draftniks as going #1 overall and Locker's report reads 7th round or UFA.
