  1. Just 1 million more. Chicken feed in today's NFL.
  2. He looked hesitant and slow, with a penchant for fumbling (granted, a small sample size). RB should be considered somewhere in the draft.
  3. We pretty much knew this was going to happen. The frustrating part is it is New England, and the Bills could have kept Gillislee by simply using a 2nd round tender.
  4. Didn't like him as a prospect anyway. Will be interesting to see how far he falls (out of the first, I would think).
  5. Lost what? There was no rational debate--- you started name-calling (that was the end of any "debate"). Funny part is, I want the Bills to succeed as much or more than you. I just don't see it happening until they have the right FO leadership.
  6. That is-- "you're" so smart. When you talked about Ebron, I thought maybe you were in the draft room or something. I don't think that was ever officially verified by Whaley-- maybe just "inside sources," such as yourself. I also said it was a mistake by Detroit-- and would have been a mistake by the Bills, if they had gone that way. A good GM has to make the right decision in those situations.
  7. I didn't assume that--- that was the JFH guy.
  8. True-- but if they match now, they will be paying a million more than needed. They may not take a RB-- but J. Williams looked rather uninspiring (in limited action). And Tolbert? I think they'd have to somehow replace Gillislee (maybe sign Blount?).
  9. It may be you who doesn't get it. The Bills, you may have noticed, place great emphasis on the run. Their starter is 29, and has been prone to hamstring issues the past couple years. A good 2nd string back is needed. Backup RB isn't exactly a bench guy-- he sees action in every game, and fills in when the starter goes down.
  10. When you consider they need help at CB, S, LB, WR, RT--- not to mention, QB -- I'd say they have issues.
  11. Maybe learn how to spell "doofus" or critique, and I'll get back to you. Apparently you are the biggest Bills/Whaley apologist on here-- there is no way to have a rational conversation with someone that doesn't think objectively. Just a couple points-- 2014 draft-- Ebron was a mistake by the Lions, and if he had been picked by Whaley, the same would be true. You get paid to make the right decisions (that would have been Beckham). As for Gillislee-- it is very unlikely the Bills will find a 5th rounder who is as productive as he has been-- in a run oriented offense. Why take the risk? It makes no sense.
  12. I haven't heard any news on that being broached. Still, they got themselves in a hole trying to win right away-- and failing.
  13. In 2016, the Bills draft was supposed to help right away. That didn't happen, because they drafted a guy who was already hurt in the first round. I don't think Watson is tbd-- they could have had Beckham without giving up the first rounder in 2015. Manuel? He was a third or fourth round value. Nix himself, on the infamous taped phone call, admitted it was a terrible year for QB's. You can't force a pick like that-- even for a QB.
  14. You don't move up that far in a draft for anybody other than a QB-- a position almost completely neglected by Whaley (and in a great WR draft). He could have avoided any issue with Gillislee, simply by placing a 2nd round tender on him. What free agents have been lost out on? I don't know-- because the Bills don't have the money to pursue any high priced players, due to cap mismanagement. Is that enough?
  15. LOL-- never said I was qualified to be an NFL GM. Just see too many mistakes by the guy who holds that spot here. Most others see that, as well.
  16. 2014? There is Watkins. All else that's left-- Kouandjio (injury issues, non-starter at best), and P. Brown-- lousy after his first year. 2015? No first due to above trade, Darby (regressed last year-- we will see), J. Miller (adequate at guard)--that's about it. 2016? First round pick was damaged goods-- we were told the Bills drafted three starters in the first round. A. Washington didn't distinguish himself. Not to mention 2013, where even if he wasn't acting GM-- he had major input in the Manuel pick.
  17. Is this for real? They are about 10 mill. under before the draft. Whaley put a low tender on Gillislee due to money constraints. The Dareus contract, for one, is an abomination. The Watkins trade, alone, should have gotten Whaley canned.
  18. Seriously? Start with horrible drafting, and cap jail (along with Overdorf's ineptitude).
  19. Can't disagree. Whaley should already be gone.
  20. I'd go with Williams in the first-- but my preference would be Z. Jones or Godwin in the 2nd.
  21. Alabama is a great pipeline (pun intended) to the NFL.
  22. A terrible draft pick, right from the start (with serious injury issue and uneven play at Alabama). That said, need to withhold judgment on this particular incident until all the facts are known
  23. All I know is a 2nd round tender would have made this moot (for just under 1 million more).
  24. With a strong D, you can contend for a playoff spot with a run first philosophy.
  25. The Bills are a running team (1st in the league), so should concentrate talent there. Passing game is anemic-- certainly can't depend on it to lead the offense.
