When we have a dline half as good as we had back than we can get away with a bend but dont break style of defense. You see any ted washingtons/pat williams smith or wiley's running around on this team? I sure as hell don't. We have to compensate for lack of front 7 talent, by being agressive and dictating to the offense.

Well that settles it. The Bills defense got whipped,because the Buffalo Bills have been the measuring stick of good defense since 2005

I'm gonna have to evaluate what he said and than go from there. I don't want to speculate, but there's a certain time one should evaluate by, and once the evaluation is complete we can proceed ahead.

That would be great if we were still playing a 4-3. We're probably better off for now hedging our bets with what we have at olb, than spending millions on transisitioning a great de to olb in a new system

Antonio Pierce since the sb has been a glaring weakness for the giants defense. He's slow to react and can't fight off blocks. At this point he's nothing more than a name. A Liability at that. That and he's not a 3-4 lb

Bradford is the most accurate qb to come out of this draft. Yes he plays in the spread, but his accuracy and route anticipation is uncanny, and he can make all the necessary throws. Doesn't have the strongest arm, but more than makes up for it with his timing and very quick release. Played a good deal at Oklahoma taking snaps from under center, so does have experience in this regard. Is kind of a stationary qb, who was rarely if ever forced out of the pocket. Played behind a great line in Oklahoma up until this year. Durability is a rather fair issue, but his upside trumps any possible downside. He's not quite the franchise qb prospect that Matt Stafford or Sanchez were last year, but even they had question marks. It's about high time The Bills get better at the quarterback position and Bradford is the safest bet to achieve that. Whether he's there at 9 is doubtful. I expect Shanahan or Carroll to pick him up before we get to pick.

Best news to have heard coming out of the 3-4 announcement yet. No defense is more boring and less inspiring to watch than a bend but dont break 3-4. You can get away in a 3-4 with smaller linemen. Infact Dallas/Baltimore both run a 3-4 around lighter dlinemen. I expect to see a lot of variations that almost make it look like a 4-3 to compensate for the lack of true 3-4 talent.

What is so inspiring about Thigpen? Is it his 54% completion pct? Perhaps it's his 6.3 ypa avg? Or perhaps his 1-13 career record as a starter? Which is almost as "good" as our record vs the patriots this decade Edit: And No I do not want Mike Vick as the Bills qb. Although he would be better than what we currently have.

As it stands now SD will have a far better shot at going to winning a superbowl as Long as Philip Rivers is around, and their front office stays intact.

Not to knock on Greer who's been an exceptionally good player, but the guy only played in 9 games this year for the Saints. A couple of games which came against really bad passing teams. 2 games against the panthers. Vs Buffalo,NYJ,Det,Miami and than Atlanta the Giants and Philly. Yeah his stats look good for a 9 game span, but it's probably a little overblown.

If it makes some of you WNY Buffalo residents feel any better. I'd rather be in Miami right now than in the cold in North Jersey.

His 2.5 sacks in 22 games in Buffalo is sure missed. I never got people's fascination with a glorified cheerleader who happened to wear a football uniform.

Ted Washington. As great as Bruce was Mount Washington made every defense he ever played on that much better. Anchored Jauron's 13-3 season with the bears. Anchored the Patriots 04 superbowl team. Top Tier Bills defense of the late 90's till deemed too fat for Gregg Williams, go figure Sedric Ellis is pretty much a pile of goo, but ehh whatver. Offensively Jim Kelly. There's no other logical answer. He was never my favorite player, but hes worlds better than what we've had since.

just remember that Brad Butler has gotten injured every year since his rookie year, and despite this is our highest paid offensive lineman

1. Peyton Manning- He's the NFL MVP. Although I think Rivers should've won it. Manning is the model of consistency. 2. Philip Rivers- no one played better over the last 10 games of the season than Rivers, and he has a chance to make a statement. Guy's the most underrated player in the league. Can make all the throws, and the way he plays the game makes SD fun to watch. 3. Kurt Warner- Time we start putting Warner in with the top quarterbacks in the NFL. Clutch performer, and future HOF'er. Although there were some officiating issues, he was amazing in the cards win over GB. Say what you want about Dallas/SD being hot down the stretch the cards went 7-1 during their last 8 games, and Warner could very well find himself in a position to get Arizona to the Superbowl for the 2nd straight year. 4. Brett Favre- The NFL's ironman. Yeah his constant "retirements" are annoying, and he's easy to ridicule, but guys a gamer, and still has one of the best arms in the league. Although for the Vikings sake, they should be riding AP All Day! 5. Tony Romo- Another highly underrated qb, finally coming into his own. Thanks to Jason Garrett finally figuring out that he has 3 rb's that take a hell of a lot of pressure off of #9. Has really cut down on his mistakes this year, and no side distractions. There's a lot of criticism that comes with being The Cowboys qb. Romo is putting all that to rest. 6. Drew Brees- If there ever was a picture perfect defintion of a system Qb it's Drew Brees in New Orleans. Puts up fantastic stats. Set the NFL record for completition pct in a single season. The Superdome will be rocking this weekend. Fits the saints like a glove. It's hard not to root for the guy. After this it's just a huge drop off 7. Joe Flacco- Reminds me of a younger version of Roethlisberger. Will undoubtedly have to pass for more than 34 yards to beat the likes of Peyton and the Colts. Rides the strength of his defense and run game, which imho is key to winning in the playoffs. However a lot more will be expected out of him. Doesn't have a ton in the way of receiving options, but can make all the throws, and is pretty mobile. 8. Mark Sanchez- He's a rookie. Had extreme downs, and some brief moments this year. Jets kind of have to reign him in, and limit his exposure, can't be asked to take too much on his shoulders. Gets by with the strength of the nfl's #1 ranked d and The #1 rush offense. Brian Schott, will have to hope his rush offense is in top form against SD, cause they'll be like sharks smelling blood. P.S: I would really love to see A SD Vs NO Superbowl. Brees vs Rivers would be quite Epic.

Bills pass defense DVOA ranked 3rd at -21.3% while the Bills run D was 26th at 5.6%... No matter how you break down the numbers using a money ball method for football it still stands to reason our run defense sucks and we need to improve the front 7
