  1. This is probably the # 1 reason why there's a lockout. Ridiculous rookie wage scale & signing bonuses that draft picks are being paid without ever having playing a down in the NFL. I'll always will remember Al Davis' statement at the press conference when he fired Lane Kiffen ... Davis saying what a great QB Russell is and that Lane should get over it.
  2. It was tentatively scheduled for Sat 25th June, but word has it they're trying to move it up to the 1st week in June because they've already been leaked, and I'm not referring to that cartoon looking version from Madden '12
  3. I remember that game because it gave the BILLS a 4-0 start ... The following week I was at the game down in SD and the BILLS came from 24-12 down and win 26-24 to go 5-0 The Murph was loaded with BILLS fans
  4. Okay, now it makes sense ... Whenever I phone DIRECTV I always insist on speaking to a head supervisor, and not one of the ones that are in the middle, between regular customer service and head supervisor. I tell that supervisor that I have purchased the Sunday Ticket since 1994 along with their top premier channel package and demand (nicely) that they give me the NHL Centre Ice for free. I've gotten it for the past 3 years, and then I phoned trying to get a discount on something else (don't recall) .... that supervisor then looked up my account and told me I used up all the extras I can get for the year, my quota was max'd, after reminding me how they gave me the hockey package and a few other things, so it seems that depending on the customers time with them, and the amount of product they order, there's a certain amount of free things they're able to let you get out of them, and like you say, you must work them for it. When they did the Superfan I did the exact same thing and got them to throw that in ... and you're right ... it was a big ripoff. They charge you and issue you a credit at the same time. So it seems that the it depends on each customer. They allow you a certain amount to grind them per year. It's like Vegas, they're not gonna comp you for things unless you're spending money at the tables. If someone got the $29 channel package and nothing else, I highly doubt they'd get 50% off on their NFL Sunday Ticket or any other benefits. Sounds right, so my apologies for doubting it.
  5. I got DIRECTV when it came out in Nov '94 ... When I renewed it for the '95 season it was something like $109 for early bird renewals, give or take $10. Lv-Bills .... you may have only paid $150 these past 3 seasons, which means someone else in your household or whomever is paying the difference, no matter though, there's no way you've been billed $150 annually from DIRECTV for the Sunday Ticket.
  6. If they were to move, I assure you it won't be to Toronto.
  7. I've always wanted us to switch back to grass like in the Rockpile days ... only nicer grass than what we had there.
  8. That would make no sense. If this playing surface is so quality which we've yet to find out by NFL standards, then all future buyers will want the same price as the BILLS got. If you had a friend who bought a new car and you wanted the same car, you're gonna demand the same price he got.
  9. Perhaps this look would please you then? lol Bills at Houston Oilers (1994)
  10. New Uniform? or this? Understand one thing ... all of you RED helmet lovers, they're going bye-bye. I have an insider who works for Reebok who told me that Buffalo was getting new uniforms for 2011, and he was surprised since 2011 is their final year with the NFL before NIKE takes over ... I frequent 2 BILLS chat boards, and 1 neutral, and from all the posts I've read there is an overwhelming demand for a return to the white helmet. I was informed of the change a few weeks before the official announcement was made, but didn't take it as serious as I should have. This person knows how much I like the '65 throwbacks from my postings, and came from the neutal site. Here's what he wrote: Well, I've got bittersweet news for you. The Bills are likely changing uniforms, but not to the 1965 version. I can't figure out if it's for next season or for 2012. I work for Reebok/adidas, and they sent us a uniform guide, which would lead me to believe that the change is coming for next season (why would they send us uniform guides for 2012 when we're no longer a licensee?). Anyway, if you can picture this, you'll have the inside scoop: Take the O.J. Simpson-era uniform. White helmet with current logo, red/blue stripes on the helmet and pants, a pair of white stripes with red trim on the sleeves and socks, and white numerals with red trim on the jersey. Then, add minimal navy blue trim to everything (similar to how the 49ers added a small amount of black trim to everything on their previous uniform, but even less than that). From all my readings, many BILLS fans and neutral NFL fans want the BILLS to just go back to the '65 throwback fulltime, many are okay with that but just don't want the grazing Bison logo. Expect a compromise. There's a few areas the BILLS were very definitive about in the season ticket letter. The charging Bison logo remains, the uniform will 'incorporate' the BILLS 'storied' look, meaning either royal blue of the 90s, or the lighter colbalt blue of the '65 throwbacks. Donohoe's navy blue 2002 color was never part of Buffalo's 'storied' history. To me the only questions remaining is ... will the facemask be gray or blue (please not white) ... will the jersey numbers go on the sleeve or shoulders (like in '65), and finally, will there be blue pants for road games 'only' ... and no more monochrome-look at home games. White on White throwback (away)
  11. That's NOT possible Peter. We don't have a throwback with a white jersey, only the colbait blue. If we planned on doing that, our jerseys would clash with the Chargers powder blues
  12. The BEARS wore them on Thanksgiving Day late year agains the Cowboys. They're from the 30's, when they had Bronco Nagurski I kinda liked 'em .. at least for just 1 game C & P: The 1930s are a decade of radical change for the Bears uniform. By 1932, numbers are added to the front of the jersey. As early as 1933, the team uses an orange jersey with navy numerals, and black arm stripes, and wears it from time to time through the end of the decade. The jersey was so "loud" that stories are told about crowds in New York booing the jersey. In 1934, the team wears white helmets. In 1936, the team unveils a uniform described years later by an NFL publication as "an early version of psychodelia." Bruising fullback Bronko Nagurski and his mates wear a dark helmet with three orange stripes from front to back, a white jersey with 14 navy and orange alternating stripes on the sleeves and shoulders. The socks look like something the Munchkins would wear in the Land of Oz, with alternating navy and orange stripes from the ankle to the knee. da Bears orange jersey/uniform
  13. I'll tell you the same thing I've said to everyone else. In 2002 the REDSKINS wore their '65-'69 throwbacks for half the season. In 1994 the NFL made an exception at the 49ers request to wear their throwbacks for more than just the 2 game maximum. They ever wore them in the Super Bowl game over the Chargers. Remember, the ones w/ the white pants rather than the burnished gold ones ?? I'm so sick of the BLUE ON BLUE ... and NAVY is NOT BILLS tradition ... at least switch back to the white pants at home
  14. What BuffOrange said No way Alstott got in, that ball didn't cross the line. What a ripoff ! Not a fan of either team, just a fan of gettin' it right ..
  15. This subject hasn't been brought up lately. Since the Chargers are breaking out their Powder Blue throwbacks, does anyone know if there's any chance we'll break ours out too, but re-introduce the white jersey from 1965 so they don't clash ??
  16. (2) Agree wholeheartedly Wanda Sykes was funny tho' ..
  17. The most astonishing thing was that new comedienne wanna-be ... He was the most horrible possible excuse of a comedienne ever ... Gave me a near headache w/ his ranting & babbling ..
  18. Thing I miss alot is the Bison Brand French Onion Dip with the Wise Potato Chips I can tolerate the $4 a pop for it, but they totally rape you for the way they inflate the shipping costs ...
  19. Grew up in North Buffalo Mine will always be Bocce's 1) Bocce's (the one on Bailey) 2) Milano's (Englewood Ave in Kenmore) 3) Pizza Junction (North Tonawanda)

Sports/Other English, Live Here's the link to their programming website. Just enter Sunday @ 1 pm to confirm WSEE TV (CBS) - Erie, PA
  21. NO .... the BILLS would need to get approval from the NFL in much longer of a notice that just a few days in advance .. It's too late now We'll most-likely be wearing the Navy w/ white pants ...
  22. Whoops, sorry 'bout that ... it only seems to do that on IE6 which I don't use, I use Firefox & Netscape Anyway, here ya go mate : BILLS Helmets 1960-2005 That's NOT a 'REDSKINS' rule, that's an NFL rule ... Any 'home' team that's being shown on local TV, there cannot be another NFL game on the opposite network during that time span ... That's in the NFL Blackout & Television Policy ...
