  1. Nucci ... thanks for posting those ... watched all 3 and it brought back great memories. I don't know about you others ... and nothing against Rick Azar, but I had always wished Van had done the play-by-play in '73 when OJ broke the record. Van was and will always be the true voice of the BILLS I like the new uniforms we're going to in 2011 ... but after seeing those 3 highlight films of '73 season I truly wish it was with the Grazing Bison. I was so happy as a kid in '73 when we finally went to blue pants for road games. jumbalaya : While we're all entitled to our own opinions, putting Braxton ahead of Cribbs is purely asinine. Braxton was more of a blocking back who nearly fumbled the season/home opener game away during our 1st ever appearance on Monday Night Football at Rich against the RAIDERS. Art Thoms of Oakland picked it up and ran about 30 yards for a late 4th qtr TD. Had it not been for a nice Fergie-led drive in the 2-minute offense that Ahmad Rashad caught the the game-winning TD with secs left, he'd be remembered for that forever, more than his accomplishments. Joe Cribbs was a feature back, and a brilliant one at that. Travis Henry definitely the ugliest and dumbest .... he must've had a good personality
  2. Okay, this thread is about greatest BILLS RB's ......... discussing Bruce Smith is way off-subject. Not only is OJ the best RB we ever had, but also the biggest superstar we ever had from a national perspective ... (and I mean on the gridiron) Rubes: God Bless ya in your Bob Chandler jersey. It doesn't matter how many of those stares you get. There will come a time when some long-time BILLS fan such as myself sees it and it gets their immediate attention and will go right up to you and either pump their fist, or strike up a conversation with you. Back in that time he was a big-time favorite to all us in that era. He made some really clutch 3rd down catches for us and was a top-notch NFL receiver.
  3. Face-mask is gray Belt is white on home white pants Belt is blue on away blue pants BILLS '11 home BILLS '11 road
  4. Ya know, with Cribbs jumping to the USFL in his prime, I think I erred and believe you're probably right, so flip-flopping 'em has merit ....
  5. Such a silly question .... 1) OJ 2) Thurmanator 3) Joe Cribbs You should have asked who had the best name 1) Preston Ridlehuber
  6. Either that or a shot of the striping on the white home pants click here
  7. What is was, was that when the red helmet came out in '84, they left the face-mask blue, which made them look really bad. When they tweaked it after 3 season in 1987 to the white face-mask it made a total difference. Still ... they're way past their 'sell-by' date
  8. Here's a sneak preview of 'em .... the rest I'll leave for the BILLS to unveil on 24-June .... I've seen the entire getup, they don't look 'good' ... They look freakin' SUPERB !! BILLS '11 newbies
  9. It's a certainty that the '65 throwbacks with the Grazing Bison logo will remain the alternate uniform set this season. The jerseys are back in production with the new ones, and I doubt they would be if they weren't intending on wearing them twice a year. The logo is still too popular with at least half the fans, and would result in a MAJOR loss in apparel sales. It's a compromise to those who wanted to go back to the '65 logo fulltime.
  10. I think Jerry and his COWBOYS were approved for that stadium loan in an amount that he wasn't qualified for. He's gotta be in way over his head with that place he built. I've only seen it on TV, but people in Dallas have commented on the place saying how many distractions there are there where an NFL fans focus should be watching an NFL game in real-time. That stadium must be like a combination of big-money resort & football stadium all in one. Anyone know this to be true? Because of all owners he looks the most stressed out when I see him on TV during this lockout. He's got creditors all over the place from what I've read.
  11. LA has several obstacles the way I view it, and 2 groups battling one another. There's 2 proposed sites for stadiums. One group wants to build it downtown where there's no room for the kind of parking lots that give way for the NFL fan to enjoy the experience of tailgating. The other group wants to build one way out in the City of Commerce which really looks to be Diamond Bar, and that is a long haul from inland. There's traffic on those freeways whether there's rush-hour weekday traffic or the weekend. I can't imagine 70,000 people congregating downtown LA for a Monday Night Game. That's right in the heart of Downtown LA The CHARGERS moving here would be a travesty. They have a die-hard following down there, great 50 yr tradition, their only problem is having to play in a stadium that was meant to be a 2-sport stadium. There's way too many end-zone seats which puts the sideline seats too far back, almost as bad as Miami. That may not seem like a big issue but in Green Bay you're right on top of the field, makes for a great home-field advantage. Giving the PADRES a new stadium before they appeased the CHARGERS was a mistake. Still, they belong in SD and should do whatever it takes (within reason) to keep them there. They're more important than the PADRES. If anyone were to move, I'd love it to be St Louis .... The SF-LA rivalry was one of the great 4 pm games and domes suck, unless they're retractable and even then you're not getting enough of the outdoors as the game was meant to be played in. If Jax was to move to LA, it would create a realignment nightmare, and lets not forget that St Louis is one of the very few cities in the nation where Major League Baseball is more popular than NFL football.
  12. His top issue on the list of remodeling work is to rid the building of the Buffaslug logo everywhere, starting with the scoreboard. Agree with him on that one ... Myself, I still like the 'B' with the sword thru it. Sabres alt logo
  13. Anyone thinking of a Chinese counterfeit might wanna read this thread before buying. It's a bit long, but a very good enlightening read Thinking about buying a China Counterfeit? When at any jersey website, click on 'contact us' .... generally, if there's an email address only without a USA mailing address and a regular or toll free USA phone number they're in China. I discovered a place in the USA with an American phone number, shipped to me from the Midwest, and it wasn't an outlet who imported from outside the USA. I verified it's authenticity thru a Reebok connection I know by the images the seller had emailed to me before paying for it. I'm very happy with it. I will continue to buy my authentics thru them for under $150 including shipping. Anyone needing the info feel free to message me or email me ... I just hate seeing people throw their money for a replica jersey because you just can't afford to shell out $300 price-gouging practice of the NFL, and many of the counterfeits people do notice more than one thinks.
  14. The BRAVES were great, I miss them, but did we really have to draft John Hummer. Dr Jack with those plain jackets were hilarious. I went to alot of BRAVES games in my teen years ... but my most memorable moment was being on the floor when the LAKERS came to the Aud and standing just a few feet away from Wilt ... The playoff series against the CELTICS was especially memorable too ... although the CELTICS won the series, the BRAVES played 'em hard in every game.
  15. You gotta be kidding me, the Chinese jerseys are a joke. There's so many glitches in them it's so very easy to spot. I've purchased genuine replicas before, but once you have a genuine authentic you'll never wanna wear a replica ever again. It's like comparing coach in the middle seat on a cross-country flight to 1st class. You don't have to pay NFL.com or BILLS.com $300 to get an authentic. I got an authentic Stevie J. white throwback from the 2009 season for under $150 including shipping, and I had it verified that it was indeed a genuine Reebok jersey. Best jersey I've ever owned. Stevie J white throwback
  16. No wonder Drew Brees is on TV saying they're happy with the prior CBA ... giving players & owners a 50/50 split. He makes no mention as to how the players 50% is split amongst themselves ... He's laughing all the way to the bank along with all the endorsement money he's able to make, that the lower echelon players have no chance of making. I've lost alot of respect for him as this lockout has progressed.
  17. Nice one, and yea it was 14-3. That was in '84, the year the red helmets came out and we were 0-10 going into that game. Greg Bell (remember him) ran for an 85 yd TD and scored on another TD later on to seal the deal.
  18. All I know is that I saw the article and in the picture our helmet was still red with all those stripes. I doubt it was our new white one for 2011 which will definitely bring it up. I saw one list on another site that had Clevelands in the top 10. Says it all really!
  19. When you've had head negotiators for both sides who have had all this time to land an agreement and there's still not one in sight, it's time to get new ones for both sizes. De Morris Smith needs to go .... just as the NFL needs new representation too, although they now have the upper hand. The free-agents must be having stress-attacks by now, and teams at this point not knowing their roster for 2011 can't be good. Waiting 'til the last minute isn't good. Get both head negotiators out of there now and make a deal already.
  20. YES, we'll still be wearing throwback uniforms with the grazing Bison logo twice a year.. The grazing logo is too valuable in apparel sales, too many people wanted to the new jerseys to also have the '65 helmet logo, but the new uniforms are a compromise. The throwback '65 jersey is still in production, so if they weren't gonna wear them they'd of halted production just as they have with the w sets of monstrosities we've had since '02. I'd post an official copy of one of the jerseys but this board doesn't allow us to post images. I've got everything from the jersey, pants, sox. Both sets are superb!
  21. Grew up in North Buffalo, just a few streets away from Kenmore. Moved to So California shortly after High School. Been going to BILLS games since my first one in '69 at the Rockpile against the Boston PATRIOTS, horrible stadium, rough neighborhood. I've flown back for games too many times to count, just to go see the BILLS play and tailgate, alot of road games too. GB is my favorite away experience out of all road games. The BILLS are the one thing about Buffalo I'll never get out of my system although in recent years it's been difficult not with just the losing, but those awful uniforms. The other things I miss but as a distant 2nd ... SABRES, Ted's Hot Dogs, Andersons on Sheridan Dr, Roast Beef on Weck, Anchor Bar or Duffs wings, Bocce Pizza, Bison Brand Chip Dip to go with my Wise Potato Chips .... and Condrell's Hot Fudge.
  22. I wouldn't even want Tavaris Jackson as a 3rd stringer. As far as Donovan McNabb is concerned, he hasn't been the same since the EAGLES lost to NE in the Super Bowl and T.O. badmouthed him to the press about his performance that day. I thought he was a quality QB until his legs went, limiting his skills .... He's now totally on the decline and I believe his REDSKINS experience has finished him. There's no way Rex Grossman gives any team a better chance to win.
