  1. I don't like the capital letters in their team name. Otherwise it is a good title.
  2. Weird Science (It has science right in the name). I liked the TV Series Millenium. I liked most of the sci-fi movies mentioned here and the recent one Dr. K mentioned in an old thread.....Jim Carrey in Eternal Sunshine.
  3. Unless I'm mistaken, in general, terrorists tend to (outwardly) plan and perpetrate violence against others. I'm not aware of the BD's setting off any car bombs, etc. Enlighten me if I missed something. I never said they were a bunch of nice people. I never even said they weren't murderers. I simply questioned Mickey's classification of them as terrorists. I don't know of any group classified as terrorists based solely on killing someone who was knocking on their door. (Let me repeat it again because I'm sure you still don't get it ----- I am in no way defending what they did, I just don't think of them as terrorists.)
  4. But don't you get to Xerox your butt at those things?
  5. Why would he start caring about that now?
  6. Although I agree with pretty much the rest of your post how did you manage to label the Branch Davidians as terrorists? Whackoes, maybe. Whackoes that deserved to die and have their children killed? Nope. Terrorists? That's the first time I've heard that. BTW, during and after the Waco standoff there was plenty of parody and over generalization going on (from both "right" and "left" I might add). If some of the same stuff was going on now against Islam, the NYT editorial board would be having a meltdown.
  7. Heredia is another in a long line of pitchers that got bad at the same time Stottlemyre became his coach. Hmmm.
  8. I think I predicted a record of 4-2-10. Needless to say, I'm shocked we haven't had at least 6 ties by now.
  9. I don't know why the Yanks are in such a big hurry to dump Javier. His name is mentioned in every trade. He was one of the best pitchers in the bigs before Mel got his mitts on him. What is he, 28? If he goes somewhere else the Yanks will regret it for 10 years.
  10. bump please vote (As you can see Steve has already voted using his ID and 9 fake id's).
  11. I don't know if the powers that be will abide by the vote, but it is worth a shot.
  12. Test: stevestojan sh-- Works fine sometimes, not others.
  13. I'll go with: Hark the Herald Angels Sing and Silent Night. For humor I'll go with Bob and Doug McKenzie's 12 days.
  14. I just fixed it.
  15. And I say to myself..........what a wonderful world....... Compare Contrast Update: The link is now fixed.
  16. Better looking?
  17. You seem to be trying that red state blue state correlation thingy again. We get it. Anyone that votes for Republicans is dumb. As for the rest of your post, the correlations are tough to draw. Does "abstinence only program" mean there are no other programs at all in that state? Are there other demographic factors in play? Does the program itself properly support abstinence (is it taught in a compelling way)? Does anyone think teaching kids to put condoms on cucumbers is really helping? If I'm not listening about abstinence, why would I listen to a condom lesson? I don't know really, maybe it would work to a degree but it would definitely be tough to properly measure its success rate. What is the opportunity cost? Perhaps an extra math session a day would serve the students better than condom or virginity class. Doesn't MTV teach us everything we need to know about condoms already? Can't our parents teach us abstinence?
  18. I agree. RiO gripes about the lack of topics, them complains about a post being too long. Classic.
  19. What should they teach in schools to stop that?
  20. From Spinal Tap: Ours Goes To Eleven.
  21. She was great in the Incredibles. How did she strectch those arms and legs like that?
  22. I rarely watch TV talk shows at night (not even Fox ). Last night I was flipping and ended up watching Larry King. He had an 18 wrestler on. The kid was born without the lower halves of his arms or legs. His story was incredible and his attitude was even better. Also, he was clearly comfortable in front of a camera in a way well beyong the average 18yo. Larry King was astoundingly awful. I started mondering if he was drunk. His questions were: Do you ever ask why me? Are you ever angry about your situation? Are you jealous of others? Do you ever wonder what if......? Isn't it hard? Do you ever feel like giving up? After a half hour of this, the kids parents came on (remote) and Larry asked them: Wasn't it hard? Did you ever ask why me? Did you ever feel like giving up? It was truly amazing. It looked like he had no preparation at all. Is he always like this? The kid that was on was the only reason I kept watching.
  23. What led me to H&R Block was "white collar" seasonal workers.
  24. Stop stealing my schtick.
  25. Well, I would have said H&R Block, but I think "choke" is a reach. He does however have enough money to choke a horse.
