  1. I explained why. Pittman and Hunt look to be very close in talent, so why not add another starter with that second round pick. One that scores touchdowns and had an over 18 yards per catch average in college. I'm sorry but Pittman isn't that special.
  2. I was bored so I thought I'd throw down a mock draft for the Bills with their first four pick (rounds 1 through 3): 1st Patrick Willis LB http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2007/willis_patrick This is so logical it's not even worth an explaination. 2nd Jason Hill WR http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2007/hill_jason I know many here want the Bills to get a RB like Pittman in round two after taking Willis, but I think this is a bad strategy. Having a player like Jason Hill opposite Lee Evans would be an extreme upgrade to Peerless Price (who is a shell of what he was when he lit up the Bills scoreboard many years ago) at the number two receiver position. He's super fast, was very productive in college, stayed all four years and has had great workouts. He's ready! I hope others around here get on the Jason Hill 2nd round pick express. As for Parrish, I think he's too small for that number two roll. 3rd Tony Hunt RB http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2007/hunt_tony The more I see mock drafts the more I think the Bills should wait on getting their runningback till the first pick in round three. Is there really that much of a difference bewteen Antonio Pittman, Tony Hunt, Darius Walker? One of these guys will be there with the third rounder so the Bills should look at another hole to plug in the second (I think that Hill is the BEST choice, see above). 3rd Tanard Jackson CB http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2007/jackson_tanard This is where you hope that one of the talented corners (like Jackson) drops. Someone will be there and I'm guessing at Jackson. He's a good fit.
  3. I found this column very interesting. What's more harmfull to African-American women, Imus or the Hip Hop culture which celebrates it's derogatory terms against them? Imus vs. the Billboard Hot Rap Tracks Chart http://michellemalkin.com/archives/007286.htm Aren't these videos shown on Black Entertainment Television (BET)? If Shaprton and Jackson are truly outraged then why hasn't there been a boycott of these record companies, BET and it's advertisers until all of the objectionable material is completely removed? This is both the height of hypocrisy and the another step on the slippery slope of censorship.
  4. Sorry, but I've never heard of Rotoworld. The Bills will need a sound contingency plan should Patrick Willis and Adrian Peterson not be there at 12. That plan should be to drafting Marshawn Lynch, then draft defense with their next three picks (LB, LB, CB). Lynch has done abosolutely nothing to make a team scare away from him, unless you consider the victim of attemted murder and extortion a character problem. This kid looks like he has a passion for the game and from the highlights I've seen online, he looks like he could be an even better back than Peterson. Yes there are maybe one or two ill informed mock drafts that have dropped him out of the first round, but these guys are chasing ghosts. If the Bills don't take him, either Green Bay or the Titans will be thanking them because one of them will. Check out Mike Mayock's comments on him: http://www.journaltimes.com/nucleus/index.php?itemid=12096 Here are some highlights I found too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WxwFmss2EwA Lynch will be a very good RB in the NFL.
  5. Oh come on now. There has been a billion threads on people wanting the Bills to draft Patrick Willis. Don't get your hopes up...Detroit could trade back (in front of us), San Fran could take him, a team could trade in front of us to get him. Willis could very well be off the board when we select. The question then is if Marv pulls another Whitner (in a good connotation) and drafts a player they want and are afraid of missing out on if they trade back. I'm thinking of Posluszny. Would people freak out if the first round happened this way?
  6. I really don't get this. Why didn't Jim Kelly want out? Bruce Smith? Andre Reed? They were players that came to a horrible team but had the balls to stick with the program and help create the greatest era in Buffalo Bills history. I still don't buy into this "his situation" crap. He's a just self-centered loser in my book. I'm looking forward to the greatest era of Bills history that, hopefully for us Bills fans, is just around the corner.
  7. Thanks for giving us the heads up on your show, you guys did a great job with the Jabari Greer interview. Very funny and candid guy (can't get more candid then giving out your cell phone number). Here's hoping you guys can eventually get some play on NFL radio and replace that knucklehead Pat Kirwin. To those who don't have Sirius radio, get it. You won't be disappointed.
  8. Now this is the sign of the apacolyspe! Holy crap. Thanks guys, for all of the pats on the back (I can't believe I remembered as much as I did). Sirius radio is one of the best inventions ever for NFL football fans. I don't know what I'd do without Sirius NFL channel (though this interview was on a different Sirius sports station).
  9. Was I the only one who caught the interview? A lot of what I'm writing is definitely paraphrasing the actual conversation. I didn't have a pen and note paper with me to take it down verbatum. If anyone else heard it feel free to correct me or add to anything I missed. It was a great interview... Greer sounded like a really fun guy. The hosts (one of them was from Buffalo and a big Bills fan) and Greer did a great job touching on a vareity of Bills topics. There was a lot of laughter and friendly ribbing going on. The first thing they mentioned was that Greer was voted in the top 25 of Cosmos sexiest athletes and ribbed him on this for a couple of minutes. Then they first praised him for his outstanding special teams play. That he was one of the best special teamers in the league (he's was second in tackles on the team). Then they started to ask him what the hell was going on with all of the big name departures and his feelings on them leaving. Willis McGahee's departure... Good team guy, well liked in the locker room. Said Willis was not so good at expressing himself and that he definitely had no ill will towards Buffalo or it's fans. He said Willis felt misunderstood. Was a Miami guy to the core and never warmed up to the Buffalo lifestyle. They mentioned Willis' comment downgrading Buffalo women and this is when they all got on a tangent about how there are so many hot women in Buffalo and also how many great restaurants there are. Fletcher, Spikes and Holcomb departure... A funny story Jabari had...he and Holcomb were both sitting at a table eating lunch together and watching ESPN. Watching the ticker at the bottom of the screen Jabari turns and immediately askes Holcomb if he knew he had just been traded to the Eagles. They both cracked up because that's how Holcomb found out he was no longer a Bill. The host then focused more on what kind of effect losing these team leaders like Fletch and Spikes would have on the Bills... Jabari said it would have no negative effect what so ever. That this team can be even better without having the "rah rah" type of team leaders. He thought that this team now has a bunch of players that know how to just do their jobs. They do not need the constant "rah rah" types for motivation. Turner... He said a runningback with Turner's skills would be very welcomed on the team. That was it on Turner. Jabari was asked if he felt like he was going to be able to win the spot vacated by Clements or if it was Youboty's job... He laughed, Greer made no mistake that he was going to give it his all to win that spot. He then said it would be in the lord's hands after that. That if he were to not win it, then he would do whatever job was asked of him to the fullest. Bills draft... Laughed and said he had no idea what they are going to do and said he just hopes that they don't draft a cornerback in the first round! That brought out the biggest laughter. The last tidbit was they talked about his foundation that helps out single dads (waaaaay too many Willis jokes to be had hear so I'll just move along). The hosts asked him how to contact Greer and he said, no lie..."you can call me on my cell phone at (insert real cell number)". The hosts, shocked by this, said that he can expect a ton of Bills fans to be calling him and predicted that Jabari will be changing his cell phone number within a week. Then they said he did this on purpose so that the hot Buffalo women who saw him in the Cosmo issue will be able to cantact him. Lots of laughs and lots of fun! Jabari Greer sounded like a great guy, good luck to him in his battle for that starting CB position.
  10. Is a post wishing the Buffalo Bills aquire Miami Dolphins' Ricky "Rasta Man" Williams a sign that TSW has officially jumped the shark? The sign of apocalypse?
  11. Now I only wish the Bills can find this year's Marques Colston on day two. Laurent Robinson perhaps?... http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2007/robinson_laurent
  12. The trade was described in the first paragraph. It's a first round trade back scenario with Denver, pure speculation on my part.
  13. http://www.gbnreport.com/2007projection.html Great Blue North has updated their 3 round mock draft and so I decided to map out three possible draft scenarios for the Bills. I only picked players that were available when the Bills turn came. The third scenario is the Bills swaping first round picks with Denver (who after missing out on Patrick Kearney would possibly love to be able to draft Adam Carriker) with the Bills also getting Denver's second round pick. It's only a scenario, pure speculation on my part. BTW, Peterson was off the board. 1st scenario: 1st Patrick Willis MLB 2nd Brian Leonard FB 3rd Antonio Pittman RB 3rd Anthony Waters OLB 2nd scenario: 1st Marshawn Lynch RB 2nd Josh Wilson CB 3rd Justin Durant MLB 3rd Anthony Waters OLB 3rd scenario: 1st Paul Posluszny OLB 2nd Brian Leonard FB 2nd Tanard Jackson CB 3rd Justin Durant MLB 3rd Brandon Jackson RB Though I really like Lynch, the other two scenarios would also work for me. But then again, I was the one picking them.
  14. Yes it was. Still remains to be seen. Unfortunately it doesn't look good right now for fans of either Marshawn Lynch or Adrian Peterson.
  15. In your dreams buddy boy.
  16. Dude, it's just my opinion...relax, it's Friday. I think that Turner is worth nothing more than a mid to late second round pick. Can't you deal with someone who's not wet in the pants over Turner the Burner? Frankly, I don't want Turner at all. The Chargers can keep their over hyped bench warmer.
  17. I want the Bills to draft Lynch or Peterson in the first, then draft OLB linebacker in the second and MLB in the third. If we ended up with getting Willis, I'd certainly be able to deal with Turner at RB. I think he's more hype than a superstar RB. I also think that both Lynch and Peterson will be better backs than Turner.
  18. No one said swapping 1st round picks is the same as giving away a 1st rounder, I certainly never said that. It's still too rich for a player that is a backup at a position that's clearly a buyers market. The swap of picks equals out to be the 33rd pick of the draft according to the value chart. I think Turner's worth is somewhere towards the bottom of the second round. Let's just say that Turner is worth pick 50 (mid second round) which is 400 points on the chart. For instance, this trade hits that number dead on... Swap of 2nd rounders = 190 Giving SD our first 3rd round pick = 210 If we do end up trading for Turner, this is the kind of trade the Bills should make.
  19. I've never said Turner wouldn't be worthy of giving up a second round pick. I actually think it's close to a fair deal. He's just the last RB on my list of Lynch, Peterson and Turner that I want as the next Bills starting RB. There are plenty of people here that like Turner so much that they are willing to give up the first or a swap of first round picks. You're getting way to deep in the minutiae of contracts and RFA details. Either people are ok with giving up a first round pick (or pick swap) or they're not. I'm definitely not ok with it.
  20. Turner is a restricted free agent with a high value which was why the tendered the highest offer. Tendering him to a 1 million backup contract would leave the door open for another team to get him for less pick value what the higher tender would garner them. Isn't this what TD did when Price was a RFA? If it was, that certainly turned out good for us. Hey GG, you sound like a nice guy, no need to drag yourself down to the potshot level. I've negotiated plenty of contracts. I was refering to Turner possibly being a one year insurance policy for San Diego if they kept him. He's a free agent at the end of the season and though I'm not sure, I don't think you can have multiple year tenders. Anyways, having him around for that final year would be their insurance policy for any bad injury happening to LT during the season.
  21. Yeah right. You're an expert at belaboring your point, don't be so damn modest.
  22. Do you like beating dead horses also?
  23. Now that's what I'm talking about! Way to hammer home the argument! It will be a very bad joke if the Bills give up a first rounder for Turner.
  24. Which part of "Asked whether Turner prefers the Titans or Bills" do you not comprehend? The agent responded that he thinks he likes Tennessee, in answering that question. Not to much of a stretch to figure that his agent knows what Turner likes because ummm...he's his agent.
  25. I focused on the failures because the Bills are the ones who have been bitten by them. Turner is the Chargers insurance policy if ever LT were to go down with a major injury. They are a team that can afford the luxury of retaining a back like Turner who has performed when called upon. That's why they tendered him with the highest amount. That's also why they are being stubborn in trade talks. If I were them I'd think long and hard about letting him go. As for the hype, I hope the Bills are not going to be the ones to throw the dice on him. Maybe if he's shown more as a pass catching all around threat then I'd be more psyched about the possiblity. But what I see is a two down back, who has one gawdy stat to his credit. Turner is garnering attention, but the problem here is that the Chargers are holding out for a trade price that's unreasonably high given the previous trades for more or less proven starting runningbacks. I honestly believe that Lynch will be better than Turner. There's obviously strong feelings on both sides of this fence.
