  1. Now THAT'S some garbage! DiGiorgio (spell much?) played VERY well for a backup player. He had 113 tackles, 2 sacks and an interception. What gives you the right to disparage him like that? Calling him garbage with a season like that? Oh yes, it's your desperate attempt to excuse Dick Jauron's piss poor head coaching. Wilson played BETTER than Simpson, BETTER. Yet another guy you ridiculously called garbage. And these were your two examples to support your weak argument???? It took an injury to Webster for Greer (another backup that played very well) to become a starter. Why the hell did Jauron bring in a stiff like Webster to start ahead of him? Jackson, hardly used, was 100 times better than A-Train who's play was embarrassing in Lynch's absence. Lynch is garbage? Evans is garbage? Peters, garbage? Schobel, garbage? Edwards play at QB had fans doing cartwheels around here, so now he's garbage? Special teams, garbage? Dick Jauron is the ONLY garbage in need of disposal on this team. You just don't see it because you're so full of you know what!
  2. I'd love it. As crazy as it sounds, I think the Bills instantly become a Superbowl contender with Brett Favre. They have the solid players on offense, defense and special teams and what they need now is a leader to take them straight to the top. Holy cow it'd be tough to beat the Bills at home once they became legit! Can you imagine the noise at the Ralph? We've been waiting too long developing QBs and this is an opportunity that I hope the Bills don't pass on. I couldn't care less if it hurts Trent Edwards' feelings. We Bills fans want to win now and not constantly wait three years at a time for the next great QB hope. Do it Ralphie! Do it!
  3. Jauron loves fans like you who are VERY easy to please. Sorry, but touchdown passes are the only thing that will make me lighten up and crack a smile. If this is the Bills' plan of attack in '08 then Dick should be looking for U-Haul deals come the end of December. For the 1,000,000th time, the dink and dunk, high percentage, play it safe game plan is NOT the way to go.
  4. The Bills doing a 180 degree turn in philosophy from what was said before the 2007 season and what actually happened during the 2007 season has NOTHING to do with your comment regarding whether we were built for an "all out" aerial assault. They never TRIED anything resembling a "passing attack" let alone the "all out" variety. Maybe if the Bills actually USE Marshawn Lynch's god given abilities to CATCH and RUN with the football will we all see how awfully stupid it was that he gathered in a measly 18 catches in 2007. That stat alone makes me think that Dick Jauron is an idiot for not getting involved when Fairchild was avoiding Lynch's most dangerous asset week after week after week. Thankfully Fairchild's gone and Dick Jauron is next on the chopping block if he doesn't squash his scaredy-cat act and start letting the players play to their strengths. Until I see it with my own eyes, I will continue to doubt the man's football intelligence and question his current lofty position as an NFL head coach.
  5. "We weren't built for an all out aerial assault last year and the team should have known that before hiring a guy who really didn't know how to run an offense that did anything else. " Care to explain this little nugget? Steve Fairchild was perhaps the most conservative non-aerial offensive coordinators I've ever witnessed in 2007. They did NOT hire him before last year. He was actually a good playcaller in the second half of 2006 and he was NOT responsible for the "aerial assault" playcalling in St. Louis. That was Mike Martz. What you said there made no sense at all.
  6. Marv Levy thinking that Dick Jauron would ever become a winning NFL head coach for the Buffalo Bills was a HUGE mistake. One that I fear everyone will eventually learn as the '08 season winds down to a close.
  7. At this point in time, if the Buffalo Bills beating the Seattle Seahawks in the home opener is still considered a shocker, then our team is in a heap of trouble. Sorry, I didn't bother to read beyond that over reaching statement. If they can't beat Seattle at home then that is NOT a good sign for our team. Seattle oozes average, ho-hum, beatable on the road NFC team.
  8. You have got to be kidding me. Dick Jauron is a very good motivator???? How did the Bills do when they play the actual good teams in the league? They got blow away. How did they do when they played in crunch time those last three games? They looked like a team that cared more about being chilly, than a team looking to smack somebody in the mouth. That is total garbage and I can not sit by and let you perpetuate this "very good motivator" myth that somehow Dick Jauron fooled people into using it as a description for him. If Jauron's team is playing a bad team then the Bills are motivated, that's great news! Not so good news though when you are facing the good teams and games when the season is on the line. That Dallas game was the only one were you would have a point, but one game does not equate to being a "very good motivator". Plus, that game had a heck of a lot more to do with the crowd then Jauron's motivational skills. Sorry, but that's my opinion.
  9. I actually had to go back and fix a big blunder..."firing him or turning the page"? WTF???? I'm guessing that subconsciously, I wasn't able to actually write the words "keeping him". Jauron needs to heed Al Davis' immortal words, "just win baby". No excuses, just win.
  10. Nice to know we have some common ground Gordio. I think we all felt the party was over that day. Here's to a happy 4th of July for all Americans and a happy 2008 season for all Buffalo Bills fans.
  11. It just goes to show you how special the late eighties and early nineties were as a Bills fan. None of us could foresee this nearly decade worth of misery we've been witnessing. I guess we both can agree, if Jauron loses again he's got to go. We've waited this long, so if after another losing '08 campaign there's a choice between firing the guy or keeping him on. You reluctantly admit he isn't the man to get the job done, turn the page and move on with at least a sense of renewed hope for the next regime.
  12. It's the needless putdowns on the guy. They aren't necessary since the man is now the backup QB. For a guy that was labeled as very immature, Losman has been a gem in terms of not making a big giant distraction like all of the other clowns in this league. I'm glad he's still on our team and hope he plays well if he has to step in for Trent.
  13. 1st chance - Troy Vincent breaks JP's leg 2nd chance - Malarkey pulled the plug on JP after a couple of games. If you call that a chance then you're a loser. 3rd chance - JP has 11th ranked QB rating 4th chance - Open for debate, neither QB got the ball into the endzone. I think Jauron put himself in a must win situation in '08 after that fubared '07 predicable and audibless offense I hate to break it to you buddy, but Losman was always going to be a project QB from the day he was drafted until it's been proven he can or can't cut it as a bonafide starter. Jumping the gun on a specific player when it's clear that it has been a franchise-wide decade-long lack of success problem only makes statements like that one look silly. Maybe you don't know much about football, but QB is the most difficult position to master. Sometimes it takes years. Even for some of the all time greats. But keep up with your falsehood-filled rants. It just shows that you're not particularly funny and that you know very little about the game. Nice try though.
  14. I'm sorry, but how is this the same angle? He's been an up close observer of the man throughout his entire career as a head coach and he does not believe that he will ever win a playoff game in that capacity. You believe there's no reason to change the head coach (I'm assuming you were both going on the scenario that the Bills have yet another losing season this year). Those are opposing positions. Let me just say that continuity can be a very bad thing, if in fact that continuity equates to a three year and counting losing team that is flatlining. At some point there is someone to blame, the coach or the players. I'm sure you know where I would be putting the blame at the end of the year.
  15. Yes there's been some overly critical things said about Edwards, but I think a lot of that was the backlash effect of the visceral "Losman hater" and the "Edwards is god" posts. It certainly wasn't on the scale of the Losman bashing. The rebuttals were more along the lines that Edwards shouldn't be the starter right now, not that he sucks. How could anyone know? He was a third round rookie! I don't remember the "sister" thing, but that is over the line. Once the season starts we will all be rooting for Edwards to be the guy that his biggest backers believe he will be. A guy who is a leader, a guy who is great under pressure and a guy that knows how to get his team into the endzone. NOT the guy that Aaron Schobel is looking for..."someone to just manage the game and not turn the ball over". Schobel is clearly looking for the next freaking Kelly Holcomb. That comment turned my stomach and made me more than nervous about the same old conservative approach by the Bills in '08. Go Trent! Go Bills!
  16. Believe it or not, I agree with a lot of what you said here Bill. It's very refreshing to see a post that's respectful of the player while being critical. Even though I'm still a supporter of Losman's, I have no problem with anyone labeling him a bust. The guy was a first round QB who hadn't taken his team to the playoffs since he's been here. That's the mark for a first round QB. The only thing I can counter with is that I still think the guy has it in him to become a top five QB in this league and that, unfortunately for him (and maybe us Bills fans), he's a very late bloomer. I just never understood the mean-spirited blasts of Losman, who was a "gamble" and a "project" pick that always tried to do his best.
  17. "Thinks TE is a good young QB and just wants to see him manage the game and not turn the ball over. He says the biggest thing is to keep possession of the ball and not go 3 and out each time. If he can do it, thinks they'll be very competitive." - Fans here wonder why I rail against the Bills "braintrust"? It's because of comments like this that make me sick to my stomach and downright angry. It's obviously a talking point from the top on down the line. Manage the game, don't turn the ball over, keep possession, blah blah blah blah. The biggest thing is to keep possession???? The Bills got a grand total of twenty touchdowns last year and this guy has the balls to say something like that? Scoring doesn't get a mention because it is not a priority for the Bills. I am warning everyone here who thinks the Bills are going to take it to opposing teams offensively, to get ready for a big fat giant letdown. "Thinks POZ will have some competition for starting job -- but he'll ultimately be better for it." - Says the overpaid and overated man who got only 6.5 sacks last year. I think that your job should also be up for grabs there buddy.
  18. My point is to debate the fans who like to roll out the Jauron excuse train that you ended up listing. My point is to hold accountable a head coach who I thought did not dare his players to be great. He instead told them to let the other team make the mistake, that they're not good enough to try to grab touchdown catches inside the endzone, that they're not good enough to risk 1st and 2nd down pass attempts. I am surprised at how many here are so pleased with a guy that I feel is one of the worst coaches this franchise has ever had. Is he a good guy? Sure he is, but he lacks the intestinal fortitude is takes to let his players play and then see where the chips end up falling. I'm not trying to get fans to hate the man, just to hopefully shine a light brightly enough so that we can all go into the 2008 season with our eyes wide open looking for a real change of approach. As for his record, I've stated it many times and I'll do it once more. Dick Jauron's style is to get his team to the promised land. What is his promised land? A .500 record or there abouts. He does not coach like a guy that is looking to make a mark. His style is so conservative that it will net you at least five games from the bad teams who are actually trying to win the game and end up making one of those bad mistakes. The other two are easy enough to come by because of the parity in the league. Look around, there's not that many teams in the league that are very good. So of course the Bills were going to get their seven wins. That was a given and I see no reason to throw roses at his feet for that. What did his team do against the actual good teams? They got blown out the stadium door most of the time. Again not a good sign for a head coach of Dick's tenure. I see no adjustments, I see no creativity. Is that serious enough for you? I hope he either changes his ways or I hope he's gone.
  19. Unfortunately it's the offseason and what we are left with is feelings about what the major players will do. QB and head coach are big topics of which I find hard not to add my two cents to when they are being discussed and I have a disagreement. There will be plenty of other things to talk about once the training begins. I am excited to see Poz, if Whitner can reach a higher level of play and if Schobel can become a force with Stroud here.
  20. Thanks for supporting opposing views. I've always felt that a board is much livelier when there are heated debates. I thought the defensive replacements played very good so I never really bought into the philosophy that he was just trying to shorten the games for that reason alone. I just think his ultra-conservatism is in his DNA which goes against the grain of how to be successful in present day NFL football. I've always said I hope he changes his tune in 2008.
  21. The funny thing is that you have absolutely no problem with a guy like Bill from NYC who forced a thread about Edwards' arm strength into a "I hate JP Losman" bash-fest for no reason. Where is the outrage for that? Oh that's right, it's ok as long as it's him. Sorry, I forgot. So coming to the defense Losman is now grounds for being booted? That thread was about Edwards, I WAS discussing Edwards and what he needs to do to fix his less than perfect game. Get off you f'n high horse and stop with the double standard. If TSW does go the route of only supporting one side like NBCs political coverage then this will be one very very sad place. Dick Jauron does suck and I'm only trying to wake some people up around here. He pissed me off like no head coach has ever had. Watching that team play so timidly mad me sick. If they want to boot me for expressing this opinion then so be it.
  22. Hey, I'm one of the most optimistic fans on this board eball. I still believe in freakin JP Losman.
  23. Your absolutely right eball. I probably should have stayed out of this "happy happy, joy joy" Bills thread. This is the first year I don't have an excited feeling and it's because Jauron sapped all my excitement away in 2007 with the way he coached our team. Until I actually SEE the Buffalo Bills try to take it to an opposing team and not play back on their heels hoping and praying the other team makes enough mistakes for the Bills to win, I will be a very disgruntled fan. You probably won't believe this, but being a downer is not even part of my personality. I'm a very optimistic kind of guy who was very angered by the approach the team took last year. I'm sorry but I need to see a 180 degree different philosophy from the head coach before I become a excited believer again. I do like our players though, that's a positive!
  24. That may be true when facing the bad teams that they play, but the Bills will have to score some points against the good teams they face. A good defensive game against the AFCs best will be holding a team to 20 points. That means the Bills offense can't have a "conservative" approach or an "off day" so to speak.
