  1. You mean the kind of irony where fans make excuses for a six of seven season loser NFL head coach yet show no patience for a still growing project QB? You mean that kind of irony C.Biscuit97?
  2. Great post btw. I just wanted to point out a couple of things about J.P. Losman's "horrible" game at Jacksonville. He had the most completions (27), 4th best completion percentage (67.5) and the 4th best yardage (211) out of the entire 16 game 2007 schedule. All the while with being severely hamstrung with a deader than dead Anthony Thomas who gained a measly 46 yards on 15 carries. JP did make crucial mistakes, but he wasn't as bad as many here like to suggest. It's a nice thing as a DB to be able to jump on some routes when you know that A Train is in the Bills backfield the whole game.
  3. There's absolutely nothing to get exciting about while we have a Dick Jauron coached team. I was excited last year and was severely disappointed when he said they were going to open things up only to watch the most conservative, boring, inept and painfully predictable offense I've ever seen in my life as a Bills fan. Perhaps Marshawn Lynch can have more than 18 measly receptions this year. Sorry, but this is the "show me, don't tell me" year.
  4. While Losman does hit an open Evans at a very high rate he did miss him long that play. But my blame falls squarely on the coaching for not letting Losman throw the ball on those 1st and 2nd downs in those final two possessions, when the game was on the line. When it was time for a move the chains pass or QB scramble the coaches showed zero faith in the guy and then had the balls to go ask for him to complete a "roll of the dice" deep bomb pass. 9 out of 10 times? That's ridiculous and you know it. They went from conservative to unsound at the worst possible times. Every single play call those last two possessions were bad ones that did not put their players in the best possible position to have success.
  5. I think Jaroun's full of crap. Why else would the Bills trot out his favorite player A Train time and time again when he continued to show he had absolutely nothing to offer our team? Why would the head coach, Dick Jauron, let Fairchild ride the Bills conservative offense back to the 40's? The answer is he wouldn't. If he in fact DID leave Steve Fairchild alone all season while he was coordinating the most inept offense in this franchise's history then he should be fired on the spot. When you are the head man in charge, it means that you are paid to make the hard decisions like telling your subordinates what they are doing is not working, needs to be changed, and they will be either demoted or fired if these changes are not made in quick order. Either way 2007 proved Dick Jauron is not head coaching material.
  6. Ahhhh, the 4th quarter of the Denver game. Let's talk about that 4th quarter Bill.. The same quarter where the coaches moronically called for three straight plays to Anthony Thomas then punted???? Of course the first two downs were A-Train runs which totaled a whopping -2 yards and the third play was a short pass from Losman for 8 yards. The same quarter when the moronic coaching then thought it would be smart to run Lynch into the pile on 1st and 2nd downs then call a deep bomb on a 3rd and 5 situation???? The Denver game was the harbinger of the pathetic playcalling we would be seeing all season long. A lot of fans here can only see the shiny things on the surface and still refuse to look deeper than "JP Losman sucks, it's all his fault, let's move on!" mantra. Thank you for brining up the Denver game Bill, I have never ever been so pissed off at Buffalo Bills coaching in my life than I was in 2007 and that includes the Kay Stephenson/Hank Bullough years. This jerk Jauron talked about how they were going to "open up" the offense and build on 2006 and then goes into his shell like the turtle minded head coach he is. Well he doesn't have the Losman "excuse" any longer. This jerk is finally going to be held accountable for his pathetically conservative and seven years and counting losing head coaching style in 2008. It makes me sick that this guy has got off scott free by fans and media alike. He sucks bad.
  7. So you want a pat on the back because you gave up on a "project" qb when he in fact turned into a project? The same guy who by the way threw 12 touchdown passes in the last seven games of 2006? Sorry, quitters don't deserve pats on the back. Sometime in the future we will ALL find out who the better QB ends up being. One game doesn't define Losman's still young career. What you stated is merely an opinion. I see little of Jim Kelly in Trent's "checkdown" game. Kelly was a guy who knew how to get the ball into the endzone, something the poised Trent still has yet to prove he can do on any sort of consistent basis. Losman proved he has this ability.
  8. I'm getting sick of this needless JP Losman bashfest you're currently on. JP Losman had 12 freaking touchdown passes his last seven games of the 2006 season. Not since Bledsoe's off the hook first seven games (15 TDs) of 2002 have we seen that kind of QB output from a Bills QB since our hero Jim Kelly. Yet you are so quick to dismiss him as a second rate loser. A guy who clearly was a development project who actually showed on the field for an extended stretch that he could be the dangerous QB we've been waiting for. 2007 was a FUBAR situation that was mainly the result of a fearful coach and his trusty noodle-brained side kick Little Stevie Fairchild who wouldn't know an unpredictable and creative gameplan if it hit them in their dim-witted faces. Marshawn Lynch's pitiful 18 reception total is all you need to know about how good they are as coaches and gameplanners. I happen to think that where ever Losman ends up, he's going to have a hell of a second act. I think that we as Bills fans are probably going to have front seats too, when he lands on the Jets squad in 2009 and takes it to his former team for not going the distance on his development. What is your beef with JP and those who still believe that his development is nearly complete and he's ready to roll over opposing defenses? Do we have to apologize to you because we want to see him compete for a starting job? As long as he's a Bill I can still root for him to do well, right? Losman has many faults, but I think that they're the kind that would disapate once the line, receiver and bad coaching situations had settled. If Trent is indeed light-years ahead of Losman then shouldn't he be able to net 12 touchdown passes in a seven game span? That would be a cool trick, wouldn't it? Too bad I don't think he has the arm to do it. I think that the rest of the NFL already knows that Trent throws a lousy long ball and to just flood the checkdown areas. Those last three games tell me that it's not just a theory, but a reality that Trent will have to dispell with passes over the top of the DBs heads early on in '08. Let's see who's right and who's wrong. But stop with the overreaching statements on Losman's abilities. You sound ridiculous and setting Edwards up for a bigtime fall from grace. I cannot wait to see this touchdown barrage from Trent in 2008! Light-years ahead, huh?
  9. Yeah that'll work... "F' you stupid fans. Though I may be the owner of only one winning season out of eight as an NFL head coach you fans have no f'n idea of what a genius coaching job I've been doing since I've arrived here in this crap town. You're all, with the exception of Adam and Mr. Wilson, too stupid to realize how great our team is gonna be in 2011! What a bunch of impatient morons. You don't even deserve the right to listen to me."
  10. I like how you try tearing me a new one and then proceed to agree with the point I've been making regarding Edwards and him needing to play better this year. I would be more than happy to say I was wrong and see the Bills make the playoffs. The sorry thing is that once someone dares to question the great almighty and expose a very weak area in his game, you and your friend are the ones who lose all reason and logic and feel the need to bust on Losman as if it would hurt my feelings. That's weird. Why can't you take any criticism of Edwards unless it comes from you yourself? Losman's on the bench, you guys are the ones that are still fixated on the QB debate. I'm past it, I want our starting QB Trent Edwards to throw touchdown passes this year. If that's unreasonable or illogical then I'm sorry I can't help you.
  11. Points, touchdowns. I don't want to hear anymore about his poise. I don't want to hear anymore about his giving a good interview. I want to see points and touchdowns this season. You guys are clearly nervous and it's starting to show. "He said Trent can't do what?!!!" I love how you state that "Nobody is enamored with Edwards" and go right on to say his strengths outweigh his weaknesses resoundingly. Oh sure, but you're not enamored with him at all. Sorry, but I call not throwing touchdown passes a pretty big negative that needs correcting for Edwards. Every time I go and point out a flaw in Trent's game, they treat it like I spit in their face or something. It's pretty comical right now. He's not a rookie anymore...we were told he's lightyears ahead of Losman at the same point in their careers...get over yourselves...get ready for either the props or slings and arrows in 2008. It's how we roll here.
  12. If Losman sucks so bad how in gods name did he throw 19 touchdowns with Price as the number 2 receiver, Steve Fairchild as his OC and the league's absolute worst offensive line? You're clearly overreaching and need to get over the fact that Edwards has been billed as the guy to lead us to the playoffs THIS season. So now this is a "developmental" situation? You guys need to get your stories straight. He's the man now, don't start p'ing your pants and not believing in the dude now. The only way you guys can get your JP hate on now is to use him in your rebuttals towards those who dare to question the great almighty Trent. Have faith in your guy, tell me how he's going to make me look silly that I ever doubted him. You guys seem awfully nervous the closer the season gets.
  13. You and SB are right on the money. This is the "crossroads" year for Jauron and the Bills. This is the year this team either looks and plays like a winner or things hopefully will and should change. If this team plays like it did those last three games in 07 going down the stretch, and yet another losing season, how could it be possible to truly still believe in a coach with seven of eight losing seasons under his belt. To believe otherwise would be some serious denial. I think he's a lousy coach, hope I'm wrong, hope he marches this team back to the glory days.
  14. Let's talk about missing the point. It seems that my point flew over your head. That being, Edwards MUST get the ball into the endzone this year or the Bills are toast. Your arguing this point is very funny to me. It's also funny that any criticisms of Edwards is always met with the "well you like JP better" comebacks. My only mention of JP was in the example of his best and only year as the fulltime starter. Like it or not, he did have a good TD pass percentage. Edwards needs to "up" his game. It seems that many here are already enamored with him and refuse to see any flaws. He's the Bills version of Obama. Sorry, but Trent rarely threw touchdown passes. It's a flaw in his game. He needs to correct it or Jaroun will be forced to bench him in an effort to save his job. Be it in favor of Losman or Hamdan.
  15. I'm sorry, I was under the impression that Trent was good to go in 2008. At least that what his big fans like you were saying. I didn't realize the expectations have now been lowered to Losman's NFL learning curve. Talk about a moving target. Will you guys make up your minds already? Is he ready or not? If he is, he needs to get the damn ball into the damn endzone in 2008. If he's not, Jauron will no doubt pull the plug in a last ditch effort to safe his job. Because if this team is heading for another losing record, he takes the fall. The fire Dick Jauron mob will grow exponentially and the backups WILL get their chances. Be it Losman or the other guy.
  16. Oh really???? Well that certainly rules out Trent then. Here's a list of the TD percentages per pass attempts of the league's current cream of the crop (2007 season/career average)... Eli 4.3 / 4.3 Rivers 4.6 / 4.6 Brady 8.3 / 5.4 Garrard 5.5 / 4.2 Favre 5.2 / 5 Romo 6.9 / 6.4 Peyton 6.0 / 5.7 Edward's was a very poor 2.6 (fyi, in 2006 Losman had his best with a 4.4) The MOST important job of an NFL QB is to get the ball into the endzone. If Trent fails to do this job on a consistent basis in 2008 his team is done. Until Edwards can in fact "putt for doe", he and his teammates won't be seeing any playoffs. As for Edward's arm strength, his deep throws look like lollipop passes to me (easy pickings against any good NFL CB). Doesn't mean he still can't get it done, just means that it is an area of concern from my point of view. Touchdowns, not necessarily arm strength, is the key to being a successful NFL QB period. I see 10 TD passes by midseason and 20 total as Trent and this team's target area.
  17. It always gave me a very good feeling when I would hear Russert talk about ours and his beloved Bills, be it on one of his political shows or an NFL film piece. This just plain sucks. I do hope the Bills do something very special in memory of probably their most prominent and fervent fan. In honor of Tim..."Go Bills!".
  18. The Bills should without a doubt reward these two guys who have actually have proven themselves WORTHY of the "BIG" contract. Peters and Evans BOTH have done this and yet the Bills brass are for some stupid and unknown reason playing hardball to the detriment of this team, which is supposedly on the verge of a new successful era. What are they trying to prove here? That they can take a hard line and not reward their star players and still be a success? Where's the incentive for the other 51 players in that? If I were the Bills management I'd show these guys the money because it's the right thing to do and in turn lets their other players know that performance on the field will in fact bring you a bigger bank account. The Bills are looking minor league here IMO. They are still members of the NFL and the salaries have risen, they need to deal with this fact and open up their tight wallet or they will quickly become the Kansas City Royals of the NFL. Go big or go home. It especially ticks me off that after the biggest ticket sales ever they continue to play hardball with these two guys. Nice message to send to the other players you small minded morons.
  19. It's stunning to me that the Bills who play in an already economically depressed region during a time period of national economic lows and are coming off a season where they only scored a mere 20 touchdowns are able to pull off this feat. This is a major feather in the cap for the Bills and it's fans. The team needs to reward this loyalty with a higher level of play on Sundays.
  20. Sure thing, no problem... Steelers game, 3-26 blowout Both Pats games 7-38, 10-56 blowouts Jets away game, won with a very lackluster effort against a bad team Dolphins away game, won with a very lackluster effort against the worst team in the league Jaguars game, 14-36, blowout Browns game, a Bills team that clearly had no desire to play in bad weather conditions Giants game, got whooped at home against a team on the ropes Eagles game, a bunch of damn quitters ...that's nine games. It's a big myth that Jauron is a great motivator. He may be one of the most well respected player coaches, but that clearly does not translate into effort on Sundays.
  21. Then you must not like Dick Jauron. His camp is said to be among the easiest in the NFL. The massive amount of players injured and very poor early season starts are clear evidence he takes it too easy on them. It's yet another thing Jauron needs to change about his losing coaching style.
  22. It took them this long to see Goodell's so-called "punishment" screamed coverup job? I was amazed at some here at TSW who were even downplaying the taping of games by the Pats. This league became a joke once Roger slapped Belichick's hand after he single-handedly called into question the integrity of the league for the last seven or so years.
  23. Yet another insecure poster insulting someone who supports Losman. I'm sorry, but you lose all credibility when you do this. You'll appear more intelligent if you can support your arguments without resorting to the schoolyard stuff in the future. Besides, the "crush" thing has been pretty much used, abused and beaten to death. If you're going to use insults, you could at least be original.
  24. I think that JP looked very good in the second half of 2006, then Jauron smartly drafted the versatile Lynch and then dumbly proceeded to unveil the most pathetically predictable and conservative offense I have ever seen in my life. I'm not surprised that many here are blaming Losman and not facing up to what the REAL problem was in 2007. JP was dead on the money when he blasted the coaching and playcalling. Trent looked good and bad last year. I'm a little bit afraid that the defenses were catching up to his "checkdown" style and he won't be able to make them pay with the deep ball. I think we could have two good to very good QBs and/or two bad to very bad QBs. I think the answers will finally come in 2008. Jauron either chooses to finally believe in his players this season or he's gone.
  25. You're way too much Bill. Trent looked so fine before he left that Jet away game...it's too darn bad that idiot Losman had to go and pull the entire team's hide out of the fire pit with his touchdown bomb to Evans. Did you not watch Edwards last three games? Him getting only a measly three points against Dallas after Romo gave his offense a bushel of turnovers? Far better than Losman? It's to bad that you and a whole lot of other fans here actually feel that way. Edwards looked like crap the last part of the season and then decided to take a three month vacation from Buffalo. Edwards' rust is well deserved and I'm not surprised if he starts feeling the heat already. What the hell did Losman ever do to you anyways? The guy makes a great play in practice and it's pile-on time for you. Why???? I have absofreakinglutely no idea.
