Bravo, I'm tired of the TSW softies who so so willing to cut these guys slack as if they have some sort of "winning" cache afforded them.
-
You don't see the huge red flag here? This team of ours played like crap those last three games in '07, they have had HORRIBLE starts to their season the last few years. Bills fans have every right to have major questions about this team based on that preseason performance. There are LOFTY expectations this year. Whitner guaranteed the playoffs, right? Jauron said himself that this is a performance based business, well we're still waiting on that ever elusive performance season. That very bad performance stoked the flames of everyone's worst fears...bad offensive line, bad defensive line, no running game, not one big play from Edwards. Downplaying it because it's preseason football would be fine for about 3/4 of the league, but not a team like the Bills who were was almost dead last in both offense and defense the previous season.
-
You got it. It's going to take years before this team recovers from Jauron's massive brain fart in regards to his QB decision making. Losman's going to go to a team that will reap the rewards of acquiring a very talented player who's been through his tough growing pains and who's ready to become one of the league's top five QBs. The Bills are going to pay for their lack of patience and deeply regret every listening to Bill Walsh waxing poetic about the well-spoken kid from Stanford. I just don't see Edwards being anything other than the second coming of Chad Pennington. All of you ridiculous Losman haters and bashers will eventually turn against "The One" when we are at mid season and he only has 5 touchdown passes.
-
What's going on is that Jauron was clearly enthralled with how well Edwards gives great speeches (since he has so much trouble in that department). Edwards is the Obama of the NFL. An inexperienced man who Bills fans were fainting over because of a few short completed pass. When he showed his uncanny gift of well spoken press conferences it was all over. He was our savior. He was "The One". Trent doesn't need to throw touchdown passes, as long as he's well spoken. Don't bother asking Dickie any questions. He can't help the fact that he is in over his head at his current position. The Bills spend four years seasoning JP Losman, then tell him he can't compete for the job because Edwards gives them such a better chance to win. Now THAT was an f'n brilliant decision!

Agreed. My worst fears and rants from this offseason were all too realized in that first quarter. It looked as if our starters just introduced to the game of football two weeks ago. There's no amount of rationalization that can account being that ill prepared, even for a preseason game. My only wish is that some college team will hire Dick Jauron before the season opener. Edwards vs Losman...advantage Losman. What ever happened to those "let's trade Losman for a roll of tape" posts? Jauron vs Zorn...advantage Zorn, oh how I wish I was wrong about our lovable loser of a head coach. Redskins made the Bills look silly last night.

I bet the kool aid drinkers and Losman haters...

Sorry but I couldn't care less. The mob here got a dose of reality last night and now they have to start dealing with it. It's ok to talk frankly about our "flawed" team. It's actually a healthy thing to do. -
...sure enjoyed last nights game. Excuse #1..."Hey, it's just preseason. Edwards and the other Bills starters are just pretending to be bad." Last night I saw a head coach who's still clueless, a starting QB who still has a weak arm and won't throw the ball deep and offensive and defensive lines that are really really bad. And if you have a problem with my negativity, then as Mr. Barnes would say...I couldn't care any less.

OFFICIAL BILLS VS REDSKINS GAME THREAD
1billsfan replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't feel bad, I'm on your side. There are fans here who refuse to see anything but flowers and sunshine when it comes to the Buffalo Bills. You try to point out faults and everyone is on your back in a big way here. It's ridiculous. At least we won't be seeing the posts busting on how bad the Dolphins and Jets will be. It's hard to bust when your team doesn't look as hot as you thought they were. -
OFFICIAL BILLS VS REDSKINS GAME THREAD
1billsfan replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey eball, this guy is saying a bunch of VERY negative things about the Buffalo Bills. I thought you were the guy that took care of this sort of stuff! -
The happy police here at TSW will get you. You must smile and speak nothing but happy thoughts about the Buffalo Bills and bad thoughts about any team the isn't the Buffalo Bills. If you do not follow this policy you will be considered a hostile and your fan membership card will be under review, and could in fact be revoked. I'm probably already in trouble for warning you.
-
Relax. Just because I think the Jets will have a good year doesn't mean that I don't think the Bills will have one also. I also think the Bills should get to 11 wins. The schedule is easy enough to achieve that goal. However I think these are the keys for a successful 11 win or more season... 1. They need to adopt a winning mentality 2. They need Jason Peters 3. They need a guy to produce at the #2 receiving position 4. They need to get Lynch and Jackson into the passing game 5. Jauron needs to show some trust in his offensive players Being a Bills fan doesn't mean you must throw away all objectivity.

I heard on WFAN in NY that the Bills and a fourth team did pursue or at least showed a serious interest in Favre. Sorry, but I don't remember who the reporter was or whether it was factual or not.
-
I did a quick run down of the teams I expect the Jets to beat on their schedule (I apologize for giving the Bills the away loss to them) Miami Arizona Cincinnati Oakland Kansas City Saint Louis Denver San Francisco Buffalo Seattle Miami That's 11 wins. I'm sorry to disagree with you, but I don't see an ugly part for Favre and the Jets this season. I wouldn't be so quick to discount them. Fortunately the Bills have the same easy schedule.

What if Trent completely chokes the first couple games?

Sorry, didn't mean to throw you. I was told to take my happy pills before I came back here. -

You bettcha, I think we have an awesome coaching staff! -
Darian Barnes is my new hero.

It's a nice and easy crowd here unless you get a Jason Peters thread, a Edwards/Losman thread, or after a Buffalo Bills loss. As you can plainly see, I still haven't quite got the hang of it. -
Darian Barnes is my new hero.

Aren't you tired of hearing how tough they are in the locker room LA? "Hey, we don't care because we play Brady twice"...I'm guessing he meant the Bills know how to tangle with the likes of Brady. But the truth is they don't know how to handle Tom Brady, they never have. I'm tired of the talk (and you're obviously tired of me). I'm a passionate Bills fan with passionate opinions on the team. I apologize if I hurt the original posters feelings. It wasn't my intention. Perhaps I should tone it down to the nice and easy mood of the board. In the end, I hope Mr. Barnes is as tough as he sounds. -

You reply that the Jets are a tough team with or without Brett Favre. A nice and bland retort for the masses. The problem is that they haven't backed up their tough talk with their play in forever. I know Barnes wasn't here, but the Brady made the Bills look silly last year. I wish the Bills would chill their mouths like the team chilled those last three pitiful games of '07. Let's see the toughness on the field. -

Yeah! More tough talk by the Buffalo Bills! Maybe the Bills should care a little more about playing the "great" QBs. Tom Brady threw for 9 touchdown passes, 684 yards and 94 points against our fearless and talkative bunch. I'll wait and see what tough guy Darian Barnes does on Sundays. That's where heros EARN their stripes. I'm sick and tired of the tough talk. -

Sorry, bad choice of words on my part. I'm not meaning to be harsh, just bringing cautionary skepticism to the board. I'll admit I have Bills fever because it's a brand new season. I do think the Bills actually have something special going on, but I also think the Bills need to start proving themselves on the field before I start busting on the other teams around the league. Those last few games last year and Whitner's playoff guarantee don't sit well with me. Get Evans re-signed, get Peters a deal that is in accordance to his importance to this team's future, give the Seattle Seahawks a beat-down and I'll be a big ol' believer in the Bills again. Go Bills! -

No moral superiority here, just tired of my loyalty being attacked. You can be a fan and still think they're full of it till proven otherwise. Last season mad me so angry I'm still venting. -

Wouldn't it weirder if there was a NFL team fan board where every single fan thought their team could do no wrong, that they're such a good team that they can laugh at other so-called "bad" teams, even though their team has yet to make the playoffs in an eight year span and counting? Maybe I want my team to get better and feel like they won't bother trying to do so if I and the tens of thousands of other Bills fans are throwing roses at their feet after posting back to back 7-9 seasons. I remember the days of Polian, Levy, Kelly, Smith, Thomas, Reed. Those were guys that deserved the adulation. We now have this Whitner guy who's guaranteeing the playoffs, what the hell has this guy done to warrant that kind of bravado? I'm still waiting for the game turning plays from that eighth pick in the draft. I'm tired of the talk, I'm tired of Dick Jauron getting so much praise and positive press. When the hell does this team start to win and beat GOOD teams again? It's like nobody cares anymore. Sorry, but this team has to start proving they are good on the field, on Sunday, against good competition for them to start getting attaboys from me. I know, my standards are apparently too high around here. Until then I will let my feelings of their futility be known and I certainly won't be busting on the Jets after they just acquired Favre. -

This place was full of posters that thought Moss was a shot player. But that obviously didn't jive with your putdown. The "rap" on Randy Moss was not only attitude but his speed AND nagging injuries. Give me a freaking break, 38 years old is NOT that old for a QB. But you just let your kool-aid influenced mind keep thinking the Edwards led Bills still have the upper hand on the Favre led Jets this year. You guys have lost all objectivity. I love the Bills too, but you've got to face reality. The Bills chances have been reduced because of the Favre/Jets trade. -

You mean the same Moss who was considered washed up for two seasons prior to going to the Pats? Yes, I did compare the two.
