I bet he goes in the 3rd. Someone will do it. I hope it's not us.

Perfect gift for the hardcore Bills fan...

That RJ jersey card must be dirty as hell... -
This is the same situation we saw last year with Kelsay. Denney was starting all year, and everyone was saying...How bad can Kelsay be if Denney is starting over him?" This year, Kelsay has come on. Hopefully we get the same from Anderson next season. I still think we re-sign Pat to a friendly contract, and if so we would have a great 4 man rotation at DT. Those guys would be able to have top stamina throughout the game.

Next time they come to B word to you, ask them what they hell they are doing out of the kitchen. Seriously, if it were all men there would be the same problem, with a little more focus on the "behind the back" part of it. Women are just more blunt.

[O-Line] I dunno if anyone caught this

I'd be pretty happy if they Franchise him and get a 3rd rounder. At least it's something! -

But your question wasn't should we have started JP at the begginning of the season, it was why start him NOW. Yes, we may have been 1-9 with a JP start. We also may be 9-1. Nobody knows. What we do know is that we are now 4-6, with no real hope of a playoff spot (although some are still clinging to that hope). During those 6 losses, Drew either played a BIG part in the loss, or didn't do anything a team leader type QB could do to spark the team and help them win. There is simply no reason to start Bledsoe. NONE! I keep hearing these arguments and it just baffles me. If we could make the playoffs without winning out and hoping 7 other teams lose out....maybe Drew would give us the best chance...but reality is not that way. GET THE KID ON THE FIELD!!! I don't care if they start it our for a quarter a game, or a half, or the last two minutes. GET THE KID ON THE FIELD! I suppose that as long as the Bills are mathematically not eliminated, MM feels like he must start Drew. I disagree, but hey, that's why he makes the big bucks. But, if he still starts Drew after another loss, he will officially have achieved moron status.

I guess I don't quite understand your line of reasoning. We could easily be 7-3, but we are 4-6. While I don't put all the blame on Drew for those losses, he sure as hell didn't do anything to HELP the team. Those 3 losses ARE why you start JP.

Kind of pathetic that he could have meant our HC or 2/3 coordinators.
-
Exactly! This argument pops up every now and then, and I just don't get it. For starters, who the hell cares if someone says "we" instead of "they". Get over it. Is there a current player or coach on the Bills who suffered through 4 Super Bowl losses? How bout the entire 80's? We as fans have as much right to claim the team as "ours" as the players do.

The Bills win BIG! The Dolphins lose....AGAIN Florida beats FSU 3 Pacers get suspened just in time to give the Magic a win! SU takes the Tourny and looks pretty tough! I can't rember the last time all my teams won in the same week. Now, the big bonus comes from a KC win tonight.

Mike Martz takes a shot at Bills
Bear replied to WillisMcThrillis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree on the Clements hit. I didn't see the game, and haven't seen the Moulds hit, but the highlights showed Nate's hit and it was awsome. Big hit, but not dirty at all. What did Moulds do? -

I still think this team can win every game other than Pitt, but anyone who thinks they will make the playoffs is just nuts. Even at 10-6 our AFC losses will keep us out. I just want improvement on Offense and consistency on D and ST. Unlike a lot of people here I think this team is so close to having what they need. I'm just going to kick back and enjoy the rest of the season.

I love our Defense and have stuck up for them even during their bad games, but to be realistic in this case...St. Louis has one of the worst offesive lines in the league. It has been a major weak point for them all season. I didn't see the game, but I was surprised to see so few sacks (1?) by our D-line. At least we were able to take advantage of their weakness. That's a sign of a good gameplan and execution.

Is playing the ONLY way to become a productive QB?
Bear replied to Fake-Fat Sunny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think a good recent example is Carson Palmer. Last year, Kitna played so well that Palmer never had to come on the field. It was a good situation for Cinci since they didn't have to rush their rookie along. Now, this year they start Palmer. He has a year under his belt, and should be good to go...right? If you have paid attention to the cinci games (I've seen quite a few) you can see the leaps and bounds he is making every week. He had a pretty good first week, but after this his play was pretty much below average. Every week, he looks more confident, reads better, moves around in the pocket better...etc. You CAN learn things by sitting on the sidelines, but you MUST, MUST, MUST get on the field to learn learn how to be an NFL QB. Simple as that. -
Just out of curiosity, do you think it's a bad idea to start JP now, or are you just replying to nonsense posts? I have been on Bledsoe's side all along. He has been our QB, and I have supported him. I have blamed the OLine, which I still stand by, but I can't do that anymore. Last night, Bledsoe had time to throw. He had open recievers. He couldn't get it done. Now, our D played like crap, so we may have lost the game anyway, but I cannot excuse Bledsoe's play. Even in the past few games, when Bledsoe has played well enough, he still didn't play like a team leader needs to play. I have come to realize (not just today, but for the past 5 or 6 games) that while Bledsoe MAY be able to not screw up a game for us, he will also NEVER be a guy that can carry the team to a win. Is JP that guy? Who the hell knows. But I cannot find a reason not to put him in there and see what happens. I really don't think, and this is of course just my opinion, that JP will turn into another Couch based on a few bad games. He's too friggin cocky for that to happen. Frankly, I don't care if we win another game this season, as long as JP is the one in there losing them. Having him get in there and show some sort of spark will help this team dramatically. It will give the current team members confidence, and depending on how well he and the Bills do for the rest of the year, it could even help with free agency. We need something here. ANYTHING! Even the biggest Bledsoe supporter (I was one) cannot deny that he is simply not the answer...now or ever. Bring in the next generation. BTW, for all those out there with the conspiracy theory that TD/Ralph are behind the decision to keep Drew in the game, I still think you are nuts. Until MM comes out and says "Hey, JP would be in the game if my hands weren't tied", I will consider you all morons. When that happens, I will admit I'm wrong.

I don't have statistics to back this up, but just from watching games every week it seems to me Indy runs more 2 TE sets than anyone in the league. Manning isn't very mobile, but he has amazing decision making and a very quick release. That said, I don't think the max protect fits JP very much. He is NOT a pocket passer. He seems to WANT to run out on most plays. Having 2 TE's blocking is IMO a waste of recievers. The more recievers we have on the field, the better the chances one of them gets open after JP starts running around. More of a Vikings/Eagles philosophy.
