  1. 4 basic main reasons...

    - 1st.....this isn't last years team....yeah I know they have been making boneheaded mistakes and things haven't gone our way on calls...BUT...the fact is that the offensive schematics of this team HAVE changed. Bledsoe is not the focal point of this team in this offense....he is a facilitator...and that alone is going to make the Patriots defense have to change the way they defense us......they are going to have to stop our running game......just as the last 2 opponents have tried......and we are going to grind it out against an 8 man front....BUT...I truly beleive there will be opportunities of play action to go deep to Evans and Moulds in this game........

    - 2nd....everybody continues to discount our team when we still have a tough defense.......with this defense we are not out of ANY game if our offense doesn't make fatal mistakes........

    - 3rd.....We are in fact playing at home.....at that does still mean something

    - 4th....the fact is that being 0-2 makes us dangerous like a wounded animal......the players on this team are pissed and it is going to show on the field........

YOU CAN INFLUENCE THE OUTCOME OF THIS GAME 12TH MAN.....STOP DOING DAMN WAVES WHEN WE ARE ON OFFENSE AND MAKE THAT STADIUM SHAKE WHEN WE ARE ON DEFENSE......

IT IS TIME TO CIRCLE THE DAMN WAGONS

  2. And how do you figure?  Again a senseless post.

Lee Evans is not having the impact that a roy williams is for two reasons...

    1) (as another poster eluded to) RW is THE go to guy in Detroit.

    2) He isn't being thrown to.  I have seen two games (One in person) when Lee Evans is WIDE open, only to have the ball FORCED to Eric Moulds.  If the man isn't thrown to he can't put up numbers.

That is the reason for RW having better numbers than LE and the ONLY reasons.  "not mentally ready" is pure crap.

Now to the original question. Yes I am. I am VERY Suprised. When RW met adversity against OU he folded.  Some will say he put up this number and that..but he had ZERO impact plays including touchdowns.  Some will say "It was the offenses fault"  or "Chris Sims fault" or whatever.  Well RW had no problems with ANY team other than OU.

Hey I am happy for RW. I actually would like to see the lions do well. RW will have to be a major part of that if they are to start contending for a playoff spot.

I think that it will be interesting just how the ball distribution will be when JPL takes over the reigns of the offense....you are not the first person I have heard say Evens was open.....

  3. Yesterday and it was very intesting listening to those that are not common posters on this board (*)

    The general concensus is this....

    1) Bledsoe is done.  They, like me, are tired of excuses.  As all know I feel this team has the talent and coaching to still go 10-6. Look at yesterdays games folks. Other than Philly there are NO dominate teams....not even NE.  If Philly and NE played right now, Philly would B!tch slap NE all over the field.

I posted about the OL's how the top two OL's in football are struggleing. Esp the percieved #1 OL in KC that is 0-3 on the season.  Enough blaming the OL.  It is average to above average.  We are 6 weeks into McNally REALLY working with a starting lineup.

After going back and watching tape of BOTH games....Bledsoe is done.  It honestly pains me to say it. and Yeah I am gonna take some heat for saying it, but that doesn't change Fact.  This guy is done.  When ANY player has to tell the press "I am the man...deal with it"  He is done.

My two cents would be to bench bledsoe, start our backup and the minute Losman can play...he plays.

    2) Start McGahee.  I am sick of the "His knee needs time" bull stevestojan.  I have had a knee injury that orthopedists say was WORSE than his.  I was back on the HG Field in 18 months. ( and yes folks take a video of the HG's to an orthopedist and he will easilly say the HG's are as hard if not HARDER on the body than football).  That aside, I see other players making it back in the same to less time.  The ONLY Way this guy gets better is to PLAY.

Hey Tefflon Tom drafted this guy instead of an offensive linemen.  PLAY HIM!  You spend a 1st on the guy...PLAY HIM!

I call up Tampa and Oakland and say "Your 1st next year for Travis Henry".  I bet we have a trade in 48 hours tops. We have backups, do the trade NOW and let WM get some time in.

    3) trade Moulds. YES trade moulds.  "But ICE he is our best Offensive weapon".  Bull Crap he is!  EM is a shell of his former self. He will NEVER be "Eric Moulds" again after that groin. Just like Andre Reed was never "Andre Reed" again.  Let Evans and Reed develop together.

Why waste any more time? New coaching staff, new system...play your "Future" NOW!  Enough waiting around.  We have wasted enough time trying to plug fingers in the dam.  Tear the SOB down and put the new on up and let it get to work.

Some will say "but what about the defense"?  I say What about it?  They are getting paid. So what if they have to wait one friggin season for our new QB, RB and WR to develop.  When DO they want to win?  If we did this NOW, right now...we would be prime to do some REAL Damage next year!

But you know what?  It makes too much sense.  Why didn't we do this in the offseason?  Why not cut bledsoe, trade Henry and moulds. Use that cap to outbid Detroit for Damien Woody for Center. Keep teague as a backup then his contract would expire this offseason.  SIGN a decent LG, re-sign Jennings and NOW....NOW you have some serious talent for McNally to work with.

We could have signed a much better backup/mentor to Losman.  As for RB I know Eddie George would be sitting there if we had made Henry part of our trade to Dallas instead of next years 1st rounder.  Hell Antoine Smith could have been a backup for God's sake.  WR? PLENTY of vets to act as a backup there.

I guess the thing that bothers me the most is how a little common sense in upper management would have had this ship in much better shape in just this last offseason.  As is, we wait....and wait.....and wait....and wait.  It's too bad. A few simple LOGICAL moves and we are contending for the AFC Title by the end of next year.

Am I off the band wagon? Nope, never will be. But it gets to a point when you look at something and say "Damn man...how hard is it?"  I think this management out thinks it's self.

0-2 is one thing. If we go 0-3 and don't put up more than 17 on the Patsies...we are done. No more wishing, hoping nothing. Logic and history dictates we are finished for this season.  I know this bucks what I have said before...but if we do and we do it ugly....Tom Donahoe must be fired and Tom Modrak needs to take the reigns.

It saddens me when I see Ice and Deeray agree with each other......

I am finally feeling your pain on the pool cleaning part...but well worth it... :D

  5. It doesn't bother me because his service is not questionable, but well documented (unlike someone else running).  You don't pay attention, but then you pay just enough attention the buy into the Bush attacks on Kerry?  If you want to know the facts, then you do have to take the time to find out the facts.  Kerry has given specific plans on how he would deal with both Iraq, and how he would deal with the war on terrorism.  All you have to do is take the time to look them up on his website or listen to his speeches, two of which this week specifically targeted those issues.  Unless perhaps you don't want your preceptions to be challenged.

    44817[/snapback]

I am looking at this as a undecided average citizen....and am not for Bush....I call it like I see it.....I have heard some of the stuff John Kerry is talking about....and you know what it sounds like to me? "Well...I would do this now because of the mistake Bush made"

In order to know a mistake was made you must first have a BAROMETER to measure it by......and since we have never fought the war on terror in this capacity we DONT HAVE THAT.....

The plans that Kerry comes up with are vague as in not specific.....

I personally dont like either candidate that much....if the democrats came up with somebody who could show respect for what HAS been accomplished so far but could explan (and I mean in detail...not a fricken flowerly theory) I would probably get behind that......right now I am kind of the opinion that the devil you know is better then the one you dont........

  6. illiterate who does not follow ever issue.....doesnt know everything about either guy who wants to be President.....and dont really consider myself in any party.....so I guess I would just consider myself a average citizen....

But does it bother anyone else that when you hear Kerry talk....his idea of winning the presidency is talking about his questionable military service.....and how he WOULDN"T do the things Bush did as his primary campaign?

Kerry...I dont want to hear about what you wouldn't do.....I want to hear about what you WILL do if you are elected.

You see....to me the way Kerry acts he doesn't have any respect for anything.....fighting the war on terror is something never tried before in our history......has Bush made mistakes? YES.....but this whole "well I wouldn't do those things".....you do you KNOW you woudn't do those things if in the same situation with the same information?

Or is it something WORSE then that.....does Kerry say this because he probably WOULDN"T fight the war on terror.....and simply kiss the @ss of the people who want to kill us in hopes that they wont do it again.

I say this as a veteran of the US Air Force and served during the first Gulf War....I have lost friends in the fighting going on right now.....but I dont blame the President for it......

  7. I mean...I know we get screwed a lot on calls but it was the importance of these calls that is really sticking in my mind....

The screwups directly relate to anywhere from 12 points to as many as 18 points

    - The holding call on Clements runback that made it to the 1. We either get 3 or 7 points out of that

    - The safety is worth 2 points...plus we get the ball....who knows what happens in the momentum of the game from that call

    - The Magehee touchdown....that is another 7

It is the difference in the ball game.....literally......

Now...I know that some will feel "well..you just have to overcome that" that is not such a easy thing to do against a team notoriously tough at home. These were important points. People who were saying we needed 20 points to win.....well....there were potentially another 18 to add to our 10 that would have made 28 points.......
