I dont agree....
And yes....I thought they did play well for the most part the things that killed us are not going to happen every week
-
I actually think there is some merit in this discussion......
The idea of bringing in Lee Evans was getting a guy with blinding speed who could catch the home run shot.....
Now....I totally understand what the bills are doing and why they are doing it.....
For instance....remember the year where Bledsoe and this offense was nuclear powered and then tailed off at the end of the season with Moulds on one side and Peerless on the other? Why did that happen? Adjustments my friends......good defensive coordinators make adjustments....then the teams behind them mimic them when it works.......
I believe that the bills are establishing something early to both make the league think twice AND to get some confidence going in our O Line and will open it up as the season goes on.....
This is going to be a dangerous team at the end of the year.......we just have to find a way to get into the postseason
-
With the Bills pounding the ball, which I do like, but they should be able to find some single coverage or at least catch a safety playing the run too hard and strike with a deep pass. Is it because the Bills have no faith in O-Line to hold up their blocks long enough to get off a deep pass? Evans and Moulds have the speed, why not use it? I like the fact that the Bills are gonna run it this year, but you can't be too stubborn. You might as well telegraph your opponents your game plan. Even Dallas went deep from time to time. I would also like to see Euhus get some "PT". He looks like he has the speed and hands to strech the field. Come on guys get creative.
I think the key is finding the right balance....which I believe the bills will.
If I had to guess I would say that the bills are showing they are going to run the fricken ball regardless of what you do on defense....and force them to respect it....
THEN LOOK OUT

If everyone could please take a silent oath not to PO the football gods please......
Game changing players are dropping left and right.....I wish nothing but the best for our opponents and the NFL in general (knocking on wood while I throw some salt over my shoulder)

Just kidding

I have no doubt Troy will be solid....I just hope he can close on a couple of picks for us.....
I think Vincent is a awesome player.....
-
"case of the mondays" bills brethren to remember there is STILL room for you on the bandwagon.....
-
Mine are with you also....hang in there.
PS....I know you are probably trying your hardest.....but keep at her at stopping work....
I dont mean to pry.....but if you dont consider it too private what are her symtoms

As said in the preseason, if the offense can manage to score 17 points a game there's no reason we can't win every game this season. Oakland has two good cover CBs in Woodson and Buchannon and with BIG TED in the middle might have a good rushing defense which could spell troubles for the offense. If we're going to win Bledsoe needs to gain some faith with throwing to guys other then Eric Moulds or else it could be a long season.
I actually think we can exploit the Raiders run defense......ours is much better then Pittsburgs....
The Steelers didn't seem to have a problem finding open receivers......
-
I don't see us going to Oakland and winning there.......and I certainly don't think we beat New England even at home. When you can't even beat Jacksonville on opening day in your own stadium with 73,000 fans lifting you up you certainly won't be able to go into the black hole or beat the World Champs.........
I know it's a long year, but I just think that we are in for a long one after yesterday..........
maybe I'm still in that bad state of mind, but that's how I see it.
Well.....I say they beat the raiders next week (much to the dismay of the multitude of raiders fans that will be in my house that day)
-
I also apologize to 89 in advance......because I also think Steve Tasker as a commentator blows.....
I tried to put my finger on it this last game and I think I have the reason....
Steve Tasker still cares....he still loves the bills and he gets down right pissed off when he sees his old team make mistakes.....
I get visions in my mind of Steve thinking WHAT THE *&&) ARE YOU DOING! when the bills make a boneheaded play......
Steve...I loved you as a player and I am quite sure you are a very good human being.....but you are retired so cut the cord a little bit okay.....
-
:I starred in Brokeback Mountain: Sorry man I just love that friggen finger smiley....
Your right of course
-
I dont think the Raiders defense is anywhere near as good as the jags.....Ted Washington is old and slow and Sapp is not a run stopper........
But it will be interesting to see how they play on the road
-
Those watching on tv cannot see the safety....
But regardless...I think you still have to take 3 deep shots to make them think twice about stacking the box with run defenders......
-
The problem is that an ultra conservative Bledsoe isn't good enough. We need our QB to do a little more than just hand off the ball and throw short, quick passes all game. The rest of our offense isn't talented enough to sustain long, mistake-free drives. Our defense is solid, but not outstanding like recent Super Bowl defenses. At times we will need to play more aggressive on offense. We will need Bledsoe to do what he used to do best. Can he still do it? I don't know, but this new conservative Bledsoe - as the Jags came showed - may not be good enough.
Kelso....listen to what you are saying.....
Our QB being the playmaker is what got us into trouble and out of the playoffs last year......our offensive line was just not good enough to play a "Chiefs type offense" and while they played a solid game today they were not asked to hold their blocks for extended periods of time......
That is not the way we are going to do it this year......we are going to play smash mouth run football.....and pass when we have open guys......and ask Bledsoe to be a facilitator rather then a playmaker.....
We will win more games that way....we WERE WINNING THIS ONE....until that damn 4th and 14 play.....

My observation is that this team has no heart. The stars of the team are losers who come up small when it matters. I repeat what I said a month ago, the team is not fun to watch and I would be happy if they could just blow it up and start from scratch because there isn't a player on the team who I would be upset to see leave. Fans get attached to players who come up big when it matters, and guys like Moulds, Spikes, Clements and Henry repeatedly come up small in the clutch. Everyone keeps trying to project victories upon this team based on talent and matchups, etc., but the reality is that they are losers who don't know how to win. What's worse, they are established veteran losers, not young kids. Gonna' be another long year of bewildered fans wondering how a fairly talented team can be so bad.
You are entitled to your opinion but I dont agree.....this is a team that has gone through a unfortunate set of years with lousy coaching that had a flop of a draft the year before they came in.....when you have an entire draft as a bust....it has lingering effects on the team.....Tom D. is to blame for that....
But....I think we do have the talent....and I like MM's philosophy......I think this season is far from over......
-
What worries me is that people would actually think Drew WAS the reason for this loss......
I shudder to think what will happen on this board when his O line has an off day and allows him to take some sacks.....which inevidabally is going to happen......
-
I am not talking about going Kilbride all day but the fact is we were running a short conservative passing game and the corners for the jags were crowding us....
Are you fricken telling me that a team with Moulds AND Evans on the field can find a way to throw a bomb at least once in this game.....
The jags did it and got a pass interference penalty on it....we didnt even TRY it
Yet we still were in position to win the game......this one hurts
-
Just wishing our bills luck and saying have a great time those that can make it to Ralph Wilson Stadium.....
I on the other hand will be about 3,000 miles away cooking steaks on the grill, chillin the coronas, and cheering on my team on NFL Sunday Ticket....
I am there in spirit.....

Uhhh...okay! I guess we must be talking about a different game. The game I saw had Brady under a fair amount of pressure most of the game. On at least 3 occaisions, in the game I saw anyway, Brady was a crotch hair from getting sacked, and managed to step away from the defender, step up into the pocket, and complete long passes. Also, on at least four occaisions, including the first TD pass, Brady basically "thread the needle" and zinged passes in to guys that a lesser QB would have had no chance of connecting with. There seems to be this myth that Brady has a stellar O-Line in front of him, giving him endless hours to scan the field. Go back and watch the tape, the guy buys any time he has to find open guys down field. He isn't fast, but he just seems to have that instinctive ability to sense where pressure is, and he NEVER takes his eyes off the secondary.
"step into a pocket"
Now there is a wonderful concept.....nice that he has one to step into
-
I am with ICE on this one.....let a rusher come through unscathed and he fumbles the ball like any other system QB.....
Nice save by his running back on that play.....but if the colts were not so busy beating themselves I think you would would have seen Brady get seriously exploited......
Sorry....I am not a card holding fan club member

To all that responded....
Thanks for the info....I filed a BBB complaint and called the contractors association that he belongs to....
Then I paid him in full.....
Regarding checking for BBB....I did all that...as stated in another thread I checked out ALL the pool companies with the BBB to make sure they were members and had a good record.....
I signed my contract back at the end of may....this contractor ended his BBB status on Aug 6th....imagine that
LA....you are totally right...I was trying to get some compensation just because of the time it took to do all this....the workmanship is quite good....the pool looks great and was very well constructed....
Time to put this behind me.....
-
I saw the replay too....my opinion is that he is just fine right now as a change up for Travis Henry.....but I also feel that he is going to keep getting better, faster, and more assertive as the season wears on......
I am not worried at all.....
-
Graybeard....
It isn't the quality of workmanship that I am bitching about with this guy it is the fact that he took so long.....
He has sent someone over...twice...and I have turned him away because I wanted to talk to the owner of the company about the length of time....
He then promptly threatened to put a lein on my house if I didn't pay......

First of all....I love Travis Henry
BUT.....as I have said all along he is all muscule....but he is also short, stubby, and doesn't elude hits......
This gives him a very short NFL shelf life in my opinion.....Thurman Thomas was also short and stubby like this....but the difference is that Thurman often found ways to elude the bulk of punishment from hits and he really was a genetic wonder on how he took the punishment year and year after year.........
The future IS Willis Magehee who is MUCH bigger......from what I have seen from him tackling him is punishment to the defense........
