1. So they expect a starting quarterback in the NFL to walk over and say "take me out"

NAME ONE FRIGGEN QB THAT WOULD DO THAT...

Once you say put me on the bench....that is like admitting defeat....Drew Bledsoe is a competitor.....he will NEVER do that......

If he is doing poorly and the HC decides to make a move in a game to Mathews....I will cheer for Mathews to do well.....

  2. As Trump would say "You're fired" (actually layed off...)

A very cordial meeting that was basically "the company is losing money at the moment because of your division, not your product. We're going to sell off the division asap to someone who can do better with it. In the meantime we're laying everyone off..."

I could almost definitely work for whoever buys the division, but don't know when that will be or where. I could also get some people together and try to buy back my piece of the company we sold them originally. Probably won't do that, I've been doing this for 5 years and have had enough of a roller coaster ride (start company, get investors, internet Rosen, almost go out of business, get bought, get layed off....) not sure if I want to start it up again.

Anyway, I'm actually a little excited to be free for a while. I have some side stuff I do that will at least pay the bills and the wife has a good job so I think I'll enjoy myself for a few months since it's probably the last chance before we have kids in a few years......

I dont wander over here much...but I was following your post....I just wanted to say that I admire you for being able to have the flexability to say "they let me go but it is a good thing"

I myself work at a University...and have been laid off in the past.......and my options are limited.....good for you

  3. I posted this on another board last night when TSW was down,  I think TD was too enamored over Evans than he should have been.

The way I look at it, Lee Evans better turn out to be a superstar. At the time we took pick 13, TD wanted both Evans & Losman. Of the 2 positions, QB is so much more important than WR. This was a rich WR draft while JP was the last available QB other than the day 2 guys. Also it's much easier to get a WR through other means (fa, trade) than a QB of the future unless the guy on the other side of the trade is Jerry Glanville. TD could have traded down a few notches or just drafted JP at 13. This is not 20/20 hindsight on my part because at pick 13 when the turn came I mock drafted JP, kept the other picks went D line round 2 (Starks) WR round 3 (Berrian) & kept next year's #1 when it would be high if Bledsoe was done.

I gotta say I have no problems with the draft moves to get Evans and Losman....I also didn't have a problem with the drafting of Magehee and Kelsay last year....

What I DO have a problem with is not agressively seaking veteran free agent guys so that we could keep the team headed in the right direction until they were ready.....especially OFFENSIVE LINEMEN........

The fact that Pucillo is still on our roster (even if he isn't starting) is a insult to my intelligence

  4. Did we hang on too long? Marv said once you start rebuilding you never stop in Free agency.  I  think that is what we have done.

I am a fighter and never like to give up. But sometimes taking a couple steps back could mean a huge leap forward later.  Things that I might have done different this offseason if I were TD...

    1) cut bledsoe and start Losman. New system, New coaches, why not? Buffalo fans could have handled a year to let Losman develop.

    2) trade Henry.  Yeah yeah I know, but if we are going to do this....then do it. Put it on Willis and let him develop.

    3) trade Moulds. Yeah trade moulds. Go with Evans, Reed, Shaw etc and let them develop WITH Losman.

    4) Move Mike Williams to LG and start Price at RT.  Why not? Now is the time to make changes.

    5) draft a DE.  Cut Denny.

So now we are looking at starting 3 rookies and letting them develop together. Possibly upgrade the OL by position changes and no pressure on the new coaching staff at all in it's first year.

But hey we are where we are and that is that.

I was with you till you talked about trading Moulds.....no way man....

  5. bashing he recieves from the fans and the media......

Drew Bledsoe is now on that list......

I dont care what the bills do from this point....you want to bench Drew fine....you want to can him all together....fine...another team will pick him up quickly

Lets just go with Shane Mathews and live with it until JP Losman is healthy.....let the fans find another whipping boy....Drew is too high a charactor guy to deserve this crap.......

  6. ICE I admire your posts and love reading them, but there is a BIG DIFFERENCE between Philly last year and us.  Philly was a good team.  They knew how to win.  They had been to back to back NFC Title games.  Their two losses were to TB (Defending World Champions) and NE (that years SB champions).  The Bills on the other hand have lost at home to Jacksonville and now they have lost in a pathetic display to Oakland.  This is a team without a clue of where they are going once again.

The Eagles had a clue, that's the difference.

    38448

I can definately see the Eagles comparions regardless of who their losses were two.....

    - Both of us have defenses that keep us in games while struggling with offensive problems......

  7. That was the not-so-tough MAC that Tulane played in. JP's sacks spanned 2 years.  Plenty of draft scouts pointed out that he hung on to the ball rather than suffer a possible interception...like RJ.

You gotta admit that his mobility is a exciting option......

But we are going to take our lumps with him along the way......I gotta say I LOVE the way he can throw deep on the run.....

  8. Out of his ass! You guys are fuggin pathetic.  Go find someone else to root for. in the mean time the rest of us non bitchers / Non  quitters will find the REALITY of yesterdays game wrapped up in this article...

    Here is a great quote...

Starting 0-2 is all too familiar to Bills cornerback Troy Vincent. Last season, Vincent played for a Philadelphia Eagles team that started out 0-2 before getting to the NFC Championship game. The Eagles had difficulty scoring in their first two games and many experts believed their season was lost. However, the Eagles rallied after their bye week and beat the Bills on the road at Ralph Wilson Stadium and they never looked back on their way to an NFC East division title.

Do we have problems? Yes. Was this predicted? Yes.  When are the playoffs made?  NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER.

    38435

I think it is way to early to throw in the towel on the season....I do understand the concern though.....

  9. Drew takes what looks to be ANOTHER concussion.......

I am ready to see a Drew Bledsoe change.....not because I dont think he can be a servicable QB for us.....but because this team makes the same mistakes time and time again......and Drew is taking too many concussions.....

    - OK....we know that he doesn't handle up the middle blitz very well.....CHANGE THE OFFENSIVE SCHEME to allow him to dump it away or give him extra time......

    - On the hit in question....Drew takes a vicious hit but still gets the ball out....AND THE RECEIVER DROPS IT......receivers are dropping way too many balls this year that they should be catching......when the receivers cannot catch why should defenses respect our running game or play action.....

If drew takes another head shot that has him on the ground holding his head......I think this team should do the moral thing and make a damn switch........I am more concerned about Bledsoe's health then anything at this point.....

  10. No, I'm not talking about anything hypothetical like you seem to be. I'm saying: We DID turn the ball over and thusly, we DID score only 10 points.

    35490

But the other thing you are doing is tying Drew Bledsoe into that point total....

He can't throw it and catch it you know......

  11. Yes, the turnovers did hurt us. But We DID turn the ball over. You're playing a game of woulda/shoulda. The fact is that 10 points were on the board. Who's saying that we won't turn the ball over again this week in the red zone?

    35470

So you are saying...."so what if we turned the ball over in the red zone 3 times....we might not have scored points"

Take a look the bills average efficiency in the red zone for a touchdown or field goal...I am quite sure that it is favorable we still come away with 3 points each time......

    3 points x 3 trips equals 9 points.....which would equal 19 points.....more then enough to win

  12. Yes, we did all want this. However, I think we were hoping it would be a game plan that would translate into more than 10 measly points. How many games

can be won when 10 points are scored? Not many. The bottom line is point production, and Drew's last 3 games (dating back to last year) have been nightmarish where points are concerned. (10 vs. Jax, 0 vs. N.E., 3 vs. Miami)

We need to average about 20 points a game (320 on the year) to have any real shot at a play off spot. At this juncture, I just don't think it's happening.

    35462

I see....so the THREE TURNOVERS dont figure into your mind for not scoring more then 10 points....

That is turnovers IN THE RED ZONE......you can fricken kick field goals for another 9 damn points even if you dont get into the end zone once.....

You have to hang onto the ball......
