  1. You didn't watch the Pats game last year did you?

Not they aren't laughing at us already, but The Pats will be dying of laughter if Cassel is our starter.

Wow.....did you see Green Bay game against us last year?

    They should bench that QB

And if EJ can't beat him out, he isn't long for the NFL. You are so limited with Cassel.

There was another extremely limited QB that our OC has worked with.....many thought he was a bust

    He turned out ok

  2. When I did a NFL Game rewind e v a l on him I came away thinking two things

    - He wasnt gong to carry a team

    but

    - You could tell he was a NFL QB......he moved around well in the pocket....didnt panic under pressure......you could see his brain working as the ball was snapped........he knew what he was doing.

One could argue those teams weren't good because Matt Cassel was their qb.

Is this going to be Kyle Orton again where people try to pretend like he is something isn't? They are professional Qbs who get passed around the NFL. They are good backups and bad starters.

If Cassel becomes the starter (awful but could happen), he will play decent one game and people while talk contract extension. Then he will throw 4 ints against NE like he did last year.

He's great as a backup. But after 10 years, to expect anything more, is setting yourself up for failure.

P.S. Haley looked great with Big Ben this year and Kurt Warner in the past.

I view him more as a caretaker......

If he starts...it means EJ is not the answer.....and we will be looking to the draft the following year with our 1st round pick

  3. We need a traditional TE as well. TE, OL, LB and obviously QB are still needs. In addition, they still want a big target (TE may take care of that). I can't see this team using it's last 2 real assets (2nd & 3rd) on only 1 position.

Just out of curiosity for those that do want 2 where do you see the OL on opening day? If we can't get a vet I see it like this:

Glenn-Incognito-Wood-rookie- Seantrel...backups: Chris Williams, Urbik, Cyrus and Cyril.

    Kirby,

I think a couple of factors here......

Cyrus might get slid over to OG with this new staff.......and if he can get his career turned around he might even start at one of the OG positions......lets keep in mind that before he had a disaster of a 1st season he was in fact a highly toughted offensive linemen carrying a 1st round grade.

Before Chris Williams went out with the back injuries he was NOT doing a bad job.....as a matter of fact I think it was safe to say that our running game started really struggling when he got hurt last year.

If they end up going with something else in round 2 and take a OL in the 3rd or later...they might elect to go with the veterans they have and groom the young OL

It could end up being a line of

    Glenn - LT

    Cog - LG

    Wood- C

    Urbik - RG

    Henderson -RT

  4.

    Watkins, stupid trade.

There is absolutely no way of knowing that one way or the other yet......if he ends up being a blue chip player for us then well worth it.....lets keep in mind this team has used 1st rounders on the likes of Aaron Maybin

    Spiller, ridiculous pick.

Was that even Whaley's pick?......this seems to me to be more of a Buddy Nix "Waterbug RB" pick

Mario, good but way over priced. We should have gotten two Marios for that money.

A very short sighted post. First of all....you have to convince someone of that caliber to actually COME TO Buffalo.....then he really is not overpriced because he does it all...then...no you could not have gotten two Mario's for the money for the simple reason there are NOT TWO MARIOS PLAYING IN THE NFL

I don't see how any grade can possibly be better than a C.

We have no idea to what extent he's been allowed to dictate this offseason, this could very well be mostly Rex and Pegula. I'm sure that after last year's idiotic trade Whaley's not making a lot of waves about "how he feels" about certain players.

His biggest moves since he's been here in 2010 have been flops.

At best. This season's been so different than the previous five years when he was specifically in charge of talent.

Why is that? I'm not sure that we know, but it is different and a change, that's obvious. To me it's highly unlikely that Whaley's changed. It's far more likely that the results are because of those around him changing.

  5. Well seeing that they don't need two and drafted a bunch last year.... Yea.

Just something to keep in mind

    - I really want to sign Cordy Glenn.....but we do in fact have some high priced players coming up. We drafted Seantrel Henderson who can play on the left side......and if you drafted Jake Fisher from Oregon he looks to be a very good RT...........the bills might want to cover themselves just in case contract negotiations with Glenn go very wrong.

    - Cog has been out of the NFL for a year.....the OG and OT we drafted last year are complete unknowns

    - Urbik is average

    - Williams has a back injury history

Roman's offense is gonna be run heavy.......which means they need players that can move people around up front. We didnt sign anyone in the offseason.

  6. Thank you Kelly. Some day when you get to college you'll understand that a professor wont allow hit and run answers in a debate. Its considered intellectually lazy.Calling other people dumb and troll are easy but most people would enjoy reading you trying to substantiate your views. I usually don't waste my time in dialogue with posters that are limited to name calling but today I thought I'd try to help you because you seem like you need it. Have a nice day Kelly.

Exactly, your opinions only require four words at most.Think about that.

It does not take a thesis to give a opinion......

    Sometimes less is better

  7. The major problem is the quality of QB. All three are below average.

Our GM has to do what it takes to get an above average starter in here.

We do not have time to waste.

It is apparent we will be rolling with one of the worse QB stables in the NFL.

Whaley is on the hook for last year and he will be for this year, if/when this experiment fails.

New GM next year comes with a lot of changes. I want Whaley to succeed and it is fairly obvious he has settled.

    Now the hypothetical;

How much better would we be if Polian was GM, Whaley was gone and Marrone accepted his contract extension?

    Imo

    Wait a minute.....

    Are you......

    BILL POLIAN
