  1. Yet it doesn't seem like 10 years ago, does it?
  2. I believe Cowher's main previous experience was special teams coach.
  3. Yeah it's going to be nice to walk into work tomorrow.
  4. I was thinking they should call Vinny.
  5. - O-line's amazing performance is putting a lot of pressure on Peters. - Schonert makes Fairchild look like a fool. Excellent play calling so far. - Not converting in the red zone looks like a continuing theme from last year...
  6. This is why: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2363/170274..._71c9a69c98.jpg What a joke.
  7. Crayonz.... I KIND OF LIKE CAPRI SUN, THOUGH I'VE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO GET IT TO GIVE HEAD. BELIEVE ME, I'VE TRIED LIKE A MOTHER _______!
  8. - Seattle Center (EMP, Sci-Fi museum, Space Needle) are decent. - Pike Place if you want to do shopping. - The Mariners are terrible this year, but visiting Safeco Field is an experience in and of itself. - Boeing tour is up in Everett. - St. Helens is about 150 miles away. Rainier is closer, and if you plan on driving, is a more scenic drive if you follow the SR-410 route. - Satruday or Sunday brunch at Salty's in West Seattle is an absolute must. - I would highly recommend Hurricane Ridge out in the Olympics. It's out by Port Angeles, and is a day trip, but the scenery is awesome. And if you're really into hiking/climbing, try your luck by climbing Mt. Si or Mailbox Peak.
  9. You can now get a Bills-themed DirecTV remote: http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/global/conte...ssetId=P4820004 I have the Harmony 880, so I'll be taking a pass, but it looks halfway decent.
  10. Who actually likes pop-up windows? I find the "back" button a lot easier to use than to have to deal with an additional window. If I want a separate window, I can just right-click the link and "Open in a new tab".
  11. Hmm... I absolutely hate Mexican food (with the exception of churros), so I'm "one of those people" as well.
  12. Yeah ORD and ATL are horrible hubs. I fly non-stop whenever possible/feasible. Decent alternatives are DFW (AA), IAH (CO), SLC (DL) and DEN (UA) during the summer. DFW, with its new trAAin behind security, is actually a pleasant place to connect through.
  13. Location may indicate risk, but that doesn't mean branch locations are immune. I had my number stolen from a skimming device attached to an ATM inside my credit union: http://seattle.metblogs.com/2008/02/02/tro...-at-first-tech/ I'd drop these clowns in an instant, but they manage all the ATM locations at work... so unless I want to pay hefty fees I am screwed.
  14. Evidently the winter of 2006 escaped your mind: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGnOHg8KU_I...feature=related Of course, if you listened to Ron Sims, 3 snowplows for all of King County are too many!
  15. I dunno, I've always liked Mazia's out in Clarence.
  16. Looks like Marv is an Obama fan: http://www.newsmeat.com/fec/bystate_detail...mp;first=Marvin Ralph should donate more money if he wants a new stadium: http://www.newsmeat.com/fec/bystate_detail...amp;first=Ralph
  17. I'm a big fan of the AMEX Hilton HHonors card. 3 pts per dollar for any purchase, 5 pts at gas stations, grocery stores, cell phone bills, Hilton properties, and the post office. $20k in purchases during a calendar year nets you HHonors gold status for free. These add up really quickly, and the nice thing is that as long as there is a standard room available in the hotel of your choice, they'll let you grab it for points (with no upcharge). 125k points nets you 4 nights at a category 6 hotel (Waldorf-Astoria, Hilton Hawaiian Village, etc).
  18. Any of them in throwback unis on the tickets? That was the indicator last year to determining which games they were slated to use those.
  19. Yeah this is pretty amazing. I've only very casually followed tennis, basically just watching the finals of the various grand slams. That said, this match might make actually make me a fan.
  20. It was really funny watching the media coverage of this yesterday. Just about 20 minutes of the 30 minute newscast was devoted to this story. If this were Buffalo, they'd have blocked off an entire day to cover this. The fact is that only a handful of people actually cared about this team. Given that they sucked so badly I can't say that the apathy is all that shocking. Just imagine if the Mayor of Buffalo actually signed off on a buyout just hours before a ruling was to come down that would have probably kept the team in the city for another two years. I'd venture to guess that, at a minimum, there'd be riots and widespread looting. Here, nothing more than a 20 minute mention on the evening news.
  21. Several people at work have it. I'm stuck with Verizon DSL until they deploy it to apartments. Pros: - Service isn't capped. You can basically use all the bandwidth you want and they won't complain. - They don't packet forge, unlike Comcast and Time Warner. - It's fiber-to-the-home, not fiber-to-the-node. AT&T's UVerse and all cable companies implement FTTN, which significantly limits available bandwidth. - Speed and reliability are tremendous. Nobody that I know has any complaints in this area. - They don't force you to take on phone or TV, but they'll charge you extra if you don't subscribe to phone service. Cons: - Billing system is REALLY screwed up, and getting it corrected is hard.. Check out dslreports.com for more info on complaints in this area. - Installation takes awhile and you'll have to plan ahead - i.e. where you want them to install the box, route cables, etc. - You lose copper phone service. If your area has frequent, prolonged power outages, then this can be a problem. However, they do provide a battery backup that should last you a few hours.
  22. Good riddance. Unfortunately none of them will be shuttered in this area. I can think of at least three strip malls within 10 minutes of here that have at least TWO starbucks locations in them. The amount of money I see people piss away every day at work on a $3 cup of coffee is amazing (MS slightly subsidizes our food, that'd be more at retail). And people look at me like I'm crazy because I don't drink a drop of the stuff. I would kill for a DD coffee roll right about now...
  23. Yeah, this isn't in the same league as retatta or the NJSue HW thread.
  24. I never thought I'd say this but I agree. I'd rather have a team full of criminals and make the playoffs as opposed to putting up with another season of crap.
