At least this year the Chiefs earned their trip the hard way. Beating Miami in frozen conditions… kind of a layup really. But winning at Buffalo and at Baltimore in consecutive weekends. Gotta respect that as much as it pains me.

I think Allen will refine his game. He's 27 now, in his prime but not getting any younger as the saying goes. He should improve his game from the pocket. He can shift around a bit, don't stand there like a statue...(Mahomes is awesome at that) but make some accurate passes and screens while hitting guys in stride. As Josh alluded to himself in a recent interview, once the playoffs come around his crazy running is "break glass in case of emergency". He won't be able to do that for an entire regular season...he should be more efficient and accurate from the pocket like Mahomes is.

I don't think there's a huge chasm. KC was better the year they beat Buffalo in the AFC Championship. Cincinnati was better last season, we had no answers. The other two KC losses were very close...some clutch plays by them and good luck, some unclutch plays by us and some bad luck.

As already said, it's going to be the QB from a #1 seed team and best record unless other factors (like QB injury) makes it impossible to vote for that QB. Also, the turnovers, especially the nationally televised ones. It started in Game 1 vs the Jets and the narrative never changed. Exciting QB, Superman at times...but a turnover machine. That is pinned to Allen until he cuts them in half or wins a SB. They treat Allen as if he's Jameis Winston (who had over 5,000 yards passing and 33 TDs in 2019). But the INTs overshadowed him.

I have Chiefs fatigue too just like I had with the Patriots.... but to say I won't watch the Super Bowl because I'm salty the Bills aren't in it is absurd. If you're a fan of NFL football you will watch it. My older two kids are at college, so it will be me with my younger daughter and wife hanging out. No big parties this year. I prefer to watch at home anyway. I think KC will win but rooting for the 49ers. If Brock Purdy can beat Mahomes/Spags in the biggest of games...big props to him.

I’m still waiting for the case to be made that Lamar is actually the MVP? Other than Stephen A and others in media shoving it down our throats. I guess the fact they had 13 wins and the 1 seed is the main reason. I can’t imagine if Lamar had Allen’s 2023 stats and Did Not win it, there would be national outrage.

Just imagine the gushing if Lamar had Allen’s stats. Lamar made plays but often had to manage games and not screw up, allowing their D and special teams to control a lot of them.

Josh is really not liked. Maybe it’s partly because he blows off Pro Bowls. Who knows. But one vote is outrageous. It’s like each Allen turnover is treated as 5 turnovers compared to every other top QB.

Yes, Reid > McDermott, their FG kicker hits a clutch long FG to send one playoff game to OT, our guy misses a critical FG in the breeze. In a game no one can stop anyone, KC wins the OT coin toss. So be it. The teams are actually pretty even....Mahomes is obviously great and the Chiefs are not tight in the clutch moments.... and I contend they also have some lady luck on their side.

I don't ever recall the Bills or local sports talk guys mentioning Patrick Mahomes as a potential Buffalo Bills pick,.. For that reason I never pay attention to the people that says the Bills failed by trading the pick. He was never getting drafted here. I don't think the Bills were selecting a high QB at all in that draft. The real losers were Chicago taking Trubisky #2 overall. KC was smart,,, they saw something no one else did and traded up ahead of the Saints to grab him.
