How would you evaluate Marv's off-season...
BB2004 replied to 2003's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with your post. I think the biggest pickup of the group was Anthony Thomas. How this guy went under the radar is suprising. He has been a very good number two running back for our club. Robert Royal has done a good job for us at tight end. Also lets put Brad Cieslak on this list. Since he has been called up because of lots of injuries to other players, he has stepped in and done a good job for us as well. Our 2006-2007 draft has been solid all around. -
I think we all understand that we are grateful to be in this situation. After the bye week some of us were trying to figure out what pick we would get in next years draft. The situation has completely changed. Before we start focusing on the Titans, lets focus on tomorrow's big Monday night matchup of Cincinatti against Indianapolis. If Peyton Manning can have a big game and the defense can create a few turnovers I don't see why Indianapolis would lose.
-
All important but obviously the only one that really matters is Buffalo against Miami. Every Sunday their is for the most part one or two upsets. I am really looking at Tennessee over Jacksonville as a possible upset and maybe Indi over Cincy.

Tim Anderson is not going anywhere, you know the coaches like his work ethic. They will give him another year to see what he can do. Everett has been hurt for most of his NFL career so I'm not sure what you want to do with him. Robert Royal and Brad Cieslak have been good tight ends for us these past few weeks and if we continue to win that position will not be as big of a need next season. The rest are questionable and debatable.

With the 17th overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft
BB2004 replied to 2003's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trade up and select offensive tackle Joe Thomas out of Wisconsin if he still there around the tenth pick. I would trade our first and third to get that guy if that is realistic. -
One point on the past draft:
BB2004 replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The guy that is missed is Pat Williams. He can still play the run very well in Minnesota. The cover two is for a team with athletic defensive tackles, but in running situations, I think it would be a good idea to have a defensive tackle that their strength is stopping the run. -
Offensive line flucuations

I disagree. I think next year you will see that the Bills go after a left tackle in the first round. With the amount of talent at left tackle coming out of college this year I think we draft one of those guys. Jason Peters will move back to right tackle. -

I guess they played their best game overall as a group this week. Still, the team has to get two lineman, especially at left tackle. After the season I would still move Peters back to the right tackle spot. -
Can we still put the franchise tag on Nate or is he going want a long term deal? I think that is the best option for the Buffalo Bils at this point. We have to see what Youboty can do when he gets in there and plays man to man coverage.

Only Way To Find Out If Losman Will Stay
BB2004 replied to Buffalo Baumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd like to see him scramble more often. If he can't get it done throwing the ball, make something happen with his mobility. I agree though, the way to find out if JP's our quarterback for next year is if he plays the entire season. -
The guy we really want is Joe Thomas from Wisconsin. If we get him, we an a guy that play for more than a decade at the left tackle spot for us.

What Hulk Hogan did for the WWF was outstanding. He had the charisma and character that most people loved. He was the main good guy during the WWF years. You didn't have to worry about him turning into a bad guy. He was a winner and when the WWF let him walk in the mid 1990's, it was one of the worst mistakes that the WWF could have made. Why they had to get rid of him is mindboggling. If they didn't want to feature him as the main event guy, that's alright. But to let him go?
-
If you could find me a link or give the information on this that would be cool. Growing up as a kid in the 1980's I used to wait for this stuff to come on very Saturday and Sunday when they didn't even have the matches like they do now. You'd be lucky if you got one match for about ten minutes on WWF Challenge or WWF Superstars.

right now we pick 6th in the draft ...
BB2004 replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That right. I'll be pulling for him to be picked by the Bills all offseason in the first round. It would be nice to have another type of Will Wolford type of player at the left tackle spot. -
I think we have seen that Jason Peters next season will be playing right tackle, hopefully. Left tackle needs to be our number one priority next year in the first round of the draft.
-
I'd like to see JP scramble a little more today.
-
He'll have his hands full today and I'm not worried about him in the run blocking today. I still think after this season to put him back to right tackle and draft one of the good players at left tackle out of college, like the guy from Wisconsin Joe Thomas.
-
Agreed. There has not been anyone else in my opinion who comes even close to him on the play by play. He made it more exciting than anyone. I was sorry that he didn't continue to do it. Did he stop when Hulk Hogan went to the WCW?
-
Hulk Hogan. But I didn't understand why he had to switch to a bad guy in the mid 90's.
-
I'm thinking the same thing. I'd like to have him as our middle linebacker for the next four years. He's been reliable ever since he's put on a Bills uniform. He's cut down on his penalities this year, that has made a big difference. Was yesterday his best game in as a Buffalo Bill?
-
I remember coming to the board before we had user names in 1996, and in 1997 we were pretty bad. But I think you are right, there wasn't this much gloom back then. I think we getting tired of losing. That's all there is too it.
-
Next year, we understand what needs to be addressed and the offensive line at three postions needs to be upgraded if we are go0ing to get better. I'd like to see Peters move back to right tackle at the end of this season. There are some guys coming out of the draft that are good left tackles. It would be a very good idea to draft one of them.
-
From what I witnessed when I was watching, the left side of the line played pretty well, but Pennington well, I think maybe we need to put someone else in there. I don't think he's ready. He got beat for two sacks. I saw Brad Butler come in at the end of the game. Maybe they are giving him a chance to start next week.
-
I agree with the first and last. Tripplett hasn't done very much yet, but I'd like to see him with a tackle next to him that can make plays. Williams is still developing and McCargo is hurt. We knew that Price was going to be a number 3 or 4 guy. Brees was going to New Orleans almost no matter what, that was the guy that the Saints targeted. McFarland has question marks and Clements is our best corner. OL, well that is something that hasn't been addressed since.... can someone help me out on that?

gandy out at LT, peters to LT, reyes benched ...
BB2004 replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Change is good, however, this is a major change. I think moving Gandy to left guard and Peters to left tackle is a good move. But Pennington, a guy that hasn't played at all moving to the right tackle? Oh my, I wonder if we are going to max protect a lot of the time. If we continue to lose, I am still pulling for Joe Thomas out of Wisconsin to come in and play left tackle for us and move Peters to the right side again.
