  1. I think most things heard from now until the draft that have a team as a source will be closer to the truth if you read their opposite. "Anonymous team sources said they don't think {player} warrants a first round pick." = Teams like this player, please don't take him in the first round! I think the media is trying to get it right, but is easily decieved by team sources. It can be hard to sort out what is a direct observation vs. one that is "helped" by someone close to a team.
  2. Which one sounds more like a old school football lineman? I love it!
  3. Josh Reed was not a #1 receiver, but was a valuable role player. He had a couple stretches dropping the ball in his early years, but he got over that. In his last years here he really came through for us with clutch 3rd down catches and aggressive blocking at miserable time in the team's history. Several games he looked like the only player on our offense that hadn't given up. Sure we needed better talent all over our roster, but I'm not sure Reed should be bashed.
  4. It's too early to get rid of Graham IMO. WR is a hard position to get up to speed at in the NFL. His drops were very noticeable in the Seattle game, but who knows what was happening (e.g. did he dislocate a finger that week?). Unless he has a total melt down, I'd like to see the Bills stick with him at least 3 years. He looked better to start the season than I expected from a rookie. Let's see if he gets even stronger this offseason. Brad Smith is one of our few playmakers. Unfortunately he seems inconsistent to me. He's a great emergency WR if we have him on the roster for other reasons. While he flashes big plays, I don't think he's a great WR. I think Nelson is a keeper, a clutch player that is go-to on 3rd down. I'd rather have him in the slot than Stevie, but would like an offense were we move players around to stress/test the defense. I'm confused on Donald Jones, who seems to run hot and cold. In 2011 I was not very impressed toward the end, but then last year he came in and performed much better than I was expecting. He definitely deserves to compete for a spot. My best guess is that he's good enough when healthy, but not very good at playing through the minor injuries that are going to come up each year.
  5. The poor guy sounds like he has PTSD / depression. I hope he's seeing a professional to help him work through it... (preferably someone who lives close).
  6. Yup. ------------------ I think choosing Mario Williams would make sense from an outside perspective, like her parents helping her pick. But she'd be much better off chooseing Fred Jackson or Stevie. She's on the show because she's overweight and feels picked on. I hope she doesn't screw it up and choose Tom Brady, though it would be pretty funny for him to be compelled to come be nice t okids in western NY. And he was hilarious in that lip-reading video. The kids would love him!
  7. That was hilarious!
  8. She's 16, so I don't think she'd need to worry about him in that way.
  9. Yeah, I've finally come to terms with McGee's demise. He was one of our best CBs early in the year even though he never got up to full speed. I think he's my favorite Bill from the last 15-20 years, a natural playmaker when healthy.
  10. My wife was watching Biggest Loser last night (a week behind, I think) and they had a football-themed contest with Antonio Gates. They indicated the winner would get $5000 for their school's athletic program and could have any NFL player they wanted visit their school to lead a "Play 60" session of some type. "Sunny", a 16 year old from Rochester won. I Googled her and figured out she attends Pittsford's Sutherland High School (where I would have gone if I didn't attend private school). Do you think they can really have any NFL player come? That must be through the NFLPA, right? Who do you think she'll pick? (It has to be a Bill, right?) Who would you pick?
  11. That sure makes it sound like he wants to go somewhere else. While it's all funny money to me, I'd hope they offer him $3-3.5 M / year and tell him he'll get an honest shot to compete for the CB position. If he's the best, he'll start.
  12. I know I not supposed to reply to other posters' posts, but this one does a better job of articulating my views than I have time to type. I can't believe people don't see how offensive this is, or if they do see, don't care. They should just pick a different name. Yes, I'm part native american (but don't identify myself as such), but I'd be offended if any group was singled out like this.
  13. I think this is the best chance Reed has had yet. I think he gets in this year.
  14. He'd be so far away up in the press box, no one would know.
  15. That makes sense. I didn't catch that Hackett hadn't been announced yet, frankly. I've just looked for the last day and seen nothing other than Mort's tweet referenced, then eventually other people saying "multiple sources indicate" for the Pettine hire.
  16. What do positive vs. negative numbers mean? Does this above or below average compared to others at the same position? Thanks for posting this!
  17. And, he brought in coaches today that likely can provide insight regarding our offensive players.
  18. Welcome to the team, Jim. Now get on the phone and start kissing Jairus's ass!
  19. Can't we update the thread title to at least spell his name right? (Petine --> Pettine)
  20. Maybe we'll run a new innovative 3.5 - 3.5 - 4 base defense. . . . I'm excited!
  21. May we'll run a new innovative 3.5 - 3.5- 4. . . .
