  1. Is PUP to start the season the same as IR with designation to return? It sounds like players on PUP must sit out the first 6 games: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physically_unable_to_perform This is a better write-up that makes PUP and IR-designated to return separate. http://www.ninersnation.com/2015/7/23/9023391/nfl-pup-list-injured-reserve-nfi-list-rules-2015-san-francisco-49ers
  2. So if Leodis isn't healthy by the start of the season what will his designation be, and impact on the cut-down to 53? IR with option to return? PUP?
  3. Brain exploding... That's the problem with Cassel, he's just not consistent!
  4. I agree. I guess I'm surprised Brady hasn't said clearly "please go talk to them; I can't tell you what they were doing or saying, or why!" Of course I really don't think he wants them to, and that is a part of how Brady comes off as guilty to me.
  5. Easley has looked like a real competent WR, not just a ST star in the vines posted so far today.
  6. The NFL would have been fine with, and actually preferred, no appeal . The point of an appeal is not to do the investigation again, but to hear and respond to the punished player's arguments that it was flawed. Brady apparently did not want to contest the McNally and Jastremski testimony and evidence. What I don't understand is how Brady can be punished, if he is, with not making those two available to the initial investigation. That is not his responsibility, is it?
  7. It's not a legal proceeding; Goodell couldn't supoena them. He said he wanted to talk to them in the appeal and Brady/NFLPA declined, saying they would not ask them to join. Given that a significant amount of the penalty was hindering the investigation, including not making these two available for follow-up questioning, that approach amounts to a concession that nothing has changed on that point and the associated initial judgement was uncontested.
  8. Party Fowl - Plenty of good images you can steal for your team....
  9. Not mentiobned previously. Here's the link at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/The-Physics-Football-Bone-Crunching-Awe-Inspiring/dp/0060826347
  10. You mean when he starts typing it, or finishes?
  11. Interesting. Thanks. I don't know what to think. I haven't heard anything bad about O'Leary, but then again, I don't remember anything at all about him from the last session or two. I thnik he's definitely making the team and very likely to contribute more than Gragg. (Call it intuition.) Besides Manuel's TD pass to Gragg, Google isn't finding much for me. I see a couple references to him being young, inexperienced, and blocking well.... Edit: not blocking well! From Astro's Day 2: From Astro's Day 1:
  12. I haven't really seen/heard that. Is there anything you can point to? I'd expect a 6th round rookie to take awhile to get up to speed. I'm not surprised by the lack of mentions. Are you?
  13. Thanks. I'll edit my list. I heard one reference, but expected to hear more. I have a very high opinion of Robey and think he can be a star in this defense.
  14. Brady's side has to give something up to get down to 2 games. It can't be reduced just because he sued.
  15. I haven't been able to attend Training Camp, but have read and watched every report I can quickly get my hands on. Here are my impressions formed at a distance. What would you Update? Better - Players who have made me think more highly of them Miller Incognito Darby Charles Harvin Easley Watkins Woods - I almost didn't include him here. He seems to always work hard and get results Thigpen Holley - I think he lands on the PS Worse Cockrell Hogan - I think he needs to stand out with a good TC to make the team MarQueis Gray Absent (What's up?) Clay - I'm curious why his name hasn't been called Brooks Hogan - I have heard very very little about Hogan Edits: Changed Charley to Stephon Charles Removed Robey from Absent list
  16. I guess Kromer could start a website and sue the league. . . .
  17. I was thinking the same thing until I heard Rex say in a video yesterday say "Glenn, Incognito, Wood; we are set on that side". It was one of the after practice sessions, from Sunday I think. He named Wood, that just isn't news to anyone and wasn't tweeted that I know. I think the Wood concern is an overblown twitterverse echo-chamber non-issue.
  18. Thanks for the write-up. I'm very excited to see our defense attack, but also a bit wary. I hope we don't get carried away always throwing "hay-makers." Schwartz did such a great job with the D just rushing 4 he made me a believer that it wasn't all about scheme-driven chaos. I think this defense is mature enough to master several looks, at least with our starters all in.
  19. I would be shocked if we blitzed Reggie Robbie this year! Talk about surprising the offense!
  20. John Miller practicing per normal (at first glance) per multiple tweets
  21. I really really love the detail and effort you put into the reports! Thank you so much, Astro!
  22. Fun! Let's guess which charity deserves the funds for this type of incident. . . .
  23. mice pic! Edit: Nice pic!
  24. Thanks so much, Astro. I really love your camp reports! At the :15 second mark of that video you can clearly see the defender is #53. That's Bradham, right?
  25. I don't even get your argument. I mean I understand what you are saying, but not how you can think that is true. The NFL had an independent assessment of the evidence and a highly-credentialed review of the analysis. The NFL would have been better off if they could have shown there was reasonable questions about whether tampering occurred. I don't get any bias claims. I thought I read someone going further into the math and saying the pressure readings 1) still wouldn't be close at zero degrees 2) Don't explain why the they only affected the Patriot balls. The actual real starting pressure has no impact on the conclusion that only the Pats balls changed a) from the starting point and b) variably, not due to some outside influence like temperature.
