  1. It is part wishful thinking, but it's also a question of what else does he want to accomplish. Belichick always struck me from afar as someone with more going on in his life than just coaching football. Alternatively, an answer such as he wants to be the first coach with five rings (or something along those lines) would have made sense. I was just wondering if there has been any talk about it.
  2. Thanks. FYI, the ESPN NFL page thinks you're chatting at 3:00.
  3. Hey Tim, I'll ask this in the chat later today, but in case it doesn't get answered ... I was wondering if you have any insight into how much longer Bill Belichick planned on coaching. I realize he will never be fired by Kraft, but is there any thought that he might want to take a break and step back from the demands of coaching in the NFL for a while? Is there any possibility that his tenure will end with Brady's? He's entering his 11th season in the same place, which I think gives him the second-longest stay (after Fisher) in one place.
  4. Is it only for people who did not renew their tickets?
  5. On the bright side, I think it takes Seattle out of the running for Locker.
  6. How do you know? Is TO going to announce it, so that he can publicize that he failed to deliver? Or is Mayor Brown going to announce it, so that he can publicize that he jumped the gun?
  7. Any team with a decent QB doesn't have a new coach. It's no coincidence that the only other coaching hires are drafting in front of us and in the QB market.
  8. I think that's right. The first clue is that Baltimore only tendered him at the 5th round level, pricing him to move. Also, look at the interest Charlie Whitehurst generated. But you can apply such concerns to anyone - if Dwan Edwards was so good, why did Baltimore let him hit free agency and Denver and Seattle let him leave without making an offer? Why was Andra Davis released?
  9. I don't think Maiorana or Roth can hold a candle to Wilson or Gaughan in terms of insight into the team.
  10. I'm not trying to bash the paper, and I understand if they did. I live in NYC, and the papers have cut back on covering teams on the road. I just want to know.
  11. Bills sign two free agents that are potential starters and all they run is the AP story? Anybody know what's going on? Lori?
  12. Note the details on Davis' contract - 2 years, $4.4 million. Quite reasonable and doesn't force the team to start him. Good contract.
  13. It's not Graham writing. They just put a picture of him up there to link to his blog.
  14. Why? Value? Sightlines? I'm in 334 right now (for three years now) and am trying to move down between the 20s.
  15. And it means no longer signing linebackers on Tuesday to start on Sunday (see Chris Draft).
  16. But speculation is all Gailey is talking about, at least according to Gaughan's phrasing of it. He's not addressing twitter attacks. Gailey put himself in this position by bringing back Wilson and Scott, and not exactly committing to starting Whitner. So yeah, I would expect speculation to continue.
  17. Right, but I (and Gailey) am talking about speculation, not fact.
  18. So the fact that it makes sense isn't enough of a reason for speculation by itself?
  19. 24 years and you never tried to move to the lower bowl?
  20. FWIW, a number of mocks have the Eagles looking for a safety in the first, and you know who their new secondary coach is. Maybe they would be interested in Whitner.
  21. Problem is he wants to start, which means he wants to be paid like a starter.
