  1. What kind of timetable do people expect this to happen?
  2. They threw a flag on the bouncer for roughing the passer.
  3. Looks like it's hard for him to score even in the off season.
  4. Hey LABillzFan, to answer part of your question, DB Chad Cota was one player who came and sign and then suddenly decided that he wasn't interested. To be honest with you, I can't think of any others off the top of my head but I will say that there has been a few other FAs that came in and then immediately signed with another team that was a last resort. One example was OL Rick DeMulling who signed with Detroit. I'm not going back and doing all kinds of research to prove this statement. I've seen you on this board for a long time so I'm sure that you are a pretty avid Bills fan as in many other posters. Plenty of you witness how abruptly others have been here on orientation and went elsewhere. This is the basis of my concern. There is SO much information that we the fans are not privy to. Look at just the last year with the coaching, game and player strategy and the administration. We were told and sold one bill of sale and then things would take a 180 degree turn. Talk about storylines that would end suddenly and/or never develope! A season of The Sopranos has nothing on this organization.
  5. I've been at work and there is too many replies to try and answer, so let me ask just a couple of questions and then I'm done with this. Does anyone feel that the QB situation should be addressed or just leave it alone? Obviously there is other issues but does everybody feels that it will be solved thru the draft? More importantly, with our 1st rd pick? If not, why can't a vunerable position (QB) be solidified? If the proposed trade can't be worked, then can a later pick(s) be negotiated into the transaction? Just asking.
  6. Isn't it kind of strange how personnel/players have come here and sign and almost immediately change their minds and go somewhere else? This is disturbing. I wonder what kind of real impressions are made behind the scenes at one bills drive.
  7. You guys make me laugh. EVERYBODY is crying with what has been going on the last few years but somebody makes a suggestion and everybody is against it. You can't have your cake and eat it too. What success has this franchise have in this time? One season with a ballooned win/loss record that was popped when they actually faced a decent team (Pittsburgh) at home when it counted the most. What a joke! What did Donahoe really accomplished while he was here? Got us out of salary cap jail? Big deal! He purged the whole dam team. Anybody could of done that! Oh, wait, he got us a few marquis names and some aged veterans. The only real problem there was inconsistent results and records. People better be careful about spouting off about this next Brett Farve, he's Donahoe's chosen one.
  8. There is a point that you're all missing. With or without Losman, we are seriously vunerable at this position. Now, if we were to keep him, he better play well or we're screwed. Here's the $64,000 question. What has he done or proven that makes fans so confident to be able to count on him to carry this team to any great success THIS season? Oh, just what I thought. '07 and '08 looks sooo good though. I don't know about how you or anyone else thinks but this league, the franchises in it and the PLAYERS are sure quick to point out how this is just a business. Yeah, well then I'm sick and tired of waiting on a positive return. And don't bother to tell me to get lost or that I'm not a good or loyal fan. It's too late for that crap. I've spent more than my share of money on Bills' merchandise, agonized in front of a tv week in week out, been ridiculed by non Bills fans (including family members who enjoyed our demise) and read every stinking article that I could get my hands on that were Bills related. No, it's always the fans who pay in every conceivable way and are the last to be considered or compensated. You can bank on Losman but at this point I guess that I'm just a little more skeptical.
  9. Oh yeah, but there is other alternatives to addressing these concerns. Forget this proposed trade scenario. How do we stabilize the QB position? The draft? Free agency? How about another trade? If so, who? Or do we just stand pat? This area needs to be addressed. No one wants to hear or face up to it because we paid the price for it already but that doesn't mean it was fixed. Hey, I would love for JP to be the solution so we can all live happily everafter.
  10. The Packers were going to take him as a successor to Farve for the FUTURE not for the present. Bottomline is this, does everyone feel that we have no concerns with our QB position? Or with the production of Losman? We can grab players for ALL the other positions of need but it takes ONLY one player to be able to play QB. Fans beware, our QB position is VERY vunerable. These other positions can and will be worked out.
  11. You know what JDG? You might just have a better idea. Because Losman was taken with a 1st rd pick doesn't necessarily mean he's worth a 1st rd pick. When that draft was unfolding, he was being projected as POSSIBLY a mid 2nd rder. Keeping Losman as a back-up wouldn't be hateful. I don't think that we would have to worry about the QB position anymore. Your idea could be food for thought.
  12. From SD's perspective is I'm sure that they didn't draft Rivers just to have him ride the bench. In addition they'll be moving up to a bluechip player in the draft. From Buffalo's perspective would be that they solidified the QB position with a seasoned veteran and still maintained a 1st rd pick. When Donahoe traded up for JP that doesn't mean that he got fair market value. I felt then as I do now is that we overpaid for Losman. IMHO, I don't think that we solved our QB situation. Has there been any proof that we have?
  13. No, but he was a last minute fill in. I guess that you can call him a poor man's Rothelisberger. Donahoe wasn't and/or able to trade ahead of Pittsburgh and then did the next best thing, trade up and paid the premium. Between Donahoe's will and the fans' hope JP became a starter. Looks like Holcomb isn't what he's cracked up to be and Matthews is retiring. That leaves us with putting this team's hopes and aspirations on the arm of Losman. I for one would rather have a more solidified alternative. The concept and the principal players of this trade can work, even if we had to tweak it with a swapping or giving of a later rd pick.
  14. Ah, excuse me. How about that they move up for a bluechipper AND have good a back-up? They are not going to be able to keep two potential starting QBs satisfied much longer.
  15. The QB situation in SD will be coming to a head. Here's a way out for them. JP also is a California boy, that sure wouldn't hurt the ticket sales. You know with just a couple solid key moves and Buffalo could very well be highly competitive. I just don't think that a "rebuilding" mentality should be surrendered to. People clamor for drafting O-Linemen, which is a great idea, but you know what, that's not going to make that big of a difference this year. Free agency and trades, that's what is going to get us back into the game. Drafts are for the future and that's if the picks are the right picks AND they don't get injured. I'm sick of waiting for tomorrow. If you pile up enough tomorrows, you'll have nothing but empty yesterdays. Let's get back to winning NOW!
  16. Real simple. Buffalo is not such a bad team. They appear worse than what they really are. I think this team is more of a product of indecisiveness than any other variable. This on again-off again with our QBs has taken it's toll on everybody. Nothing personal with JP but if we could trade him and swap our 1st rd pick (#8) with San Diego for Drew Brees and their 1st rd pick (#19) then we should jump all over it. Brees is much more established and game ready. With Jauron and his defensive strategies a QB who can truly manage and win games is crucial. Reguardless if you like it or not, Losman isn't a lock to be able to provide this. This team could easily turn it's fortunes around with some good coaching, intelligent drafting and aquiring key FAs. Me, I want success NOW, not 2 or 3 years from now.
  17. Mike Martz was rumored to be bringing Ramsdell with him to Detroit, according to KFFL. Don't know much about him but with the Rams' passing offense and Fairchild's past relationship I wonder if the Bills will be interested in him. Does anybody know much about this guy?
  18. It's true that JP hasn't been a crybaby so far but it is still very early in his career. If he doesn't succeed in Buffalo then there will be a reason for it, not blame. I did offer a multiple choice. Choice f was making him accountable. There is alot going AGAINST him so far, if you, me or anybody else likes it or not. Can you or anybody else remember any young QB going thru so much in such a young, short career and rebounding successfully for their original team? I'm curious, ANYBODY? I'm not rooting against him, I'm a BIG Bills' fan, I just don't choose to look thru rose colored glasses. When I post I'm looking for opinions, either for or against, that's all. The personal attacks are boorish. If that makes me on a high horse then giddy-up!
  19. I appreciate your stance on redundant posts but I promise you that this was not my intention. I go in and out on following this board. I have been active for just the last couple of weeks because of all the current controversies. The more developements I see the more ramifications I realize. The point is with no ill will intended for Losman is with all that he has endured in such a short, young career is that the odds are starting to stack up heavily against him. With all the disappointments that this organization and fanbase has been thru in the last few years this aspect should be considered. This, in my opinion, is not a longshot scenario. If people are tired and bored with this subject matter, then this post will just fade away. If there is interest in this subject, then I would like to hear if it's a pro or con opinion. I meant no offense to anybody. Thanks.
  20. If I have ANYTHING with the rise or fall of Losman or any other professional athlete, then I want to be paid accordingly. I'd much rather be compensated handsomely then to trade barbs with the "elite" posters on this message board. I'll respect the opinions on this board but I just don't believe in chastising people for having them.
  21. Shockey probably had to kickstart Everett and Winslow's bikes.
  22. If it's such a boring subject, then why are you responding to it?
