  1. Oops! Didn't see that earlier report, my bad. Still doesn't change the fact of the chopping that's under way.
  2. The complications with Isaac Bruce's contract was reported earlier on KFFL. It's not too much different in money compared to Eric Moulds. I'd much rather have Moulds than Bruce but this Ram connection makes me a little nervous about what our braintrust might be thinking. This is all purely speculation but when personnel changes from team to team than they usually bring along some of their former players. I hope that this isn't one of them incidents. All things (money) being equal we are better off with Moulds.
  3. Why in the world wouldn't anybody not be interested in a Raider WR? This guy just happens to be down the depth chart because he's behind the likes of a Randy Moss/Jerry Porter. It's no secret that Al Davis likes a vertical game. Shouldn't we? This guy is no bum, he just has been hurt. If he gets medical cleareance than we should be all over him. Read the website that I provided, I think that he may impress you. I've read in earlier posts that Brandon Lloyd would be a good addition. Curry is a bigger version.
  4. No, I agree, Evans becomes the #1 WR. It was just an idea, that's all.
  5. This guy is big, strong and fast. The money would be right for this guy and he has great hands. In the past he has made some amazing catches. I hate to see moulds go but if he won't take less money than sad but true, he must go. On another note, Dallas' TE Dan Campbell looks to be a UFA. There is less than a 5% chance of him resigning with the Cowboys according to his agent. The guy is a great blocker but more importantly, he's a very tough guy. The few catches that he made were big ones. You got to love his mentality. Buffalo needs some toughness and this guy would bring it. Anyways, replace a Campbell with a Campbell. This way the Bills can cut down on the cost of jerseys so we can have more resources to sign FAs. I can see Marv squeezing the crap out of those Buffalo nickels right now.
  6. It's not 100% sure yet but he doesn't appear close to re-signing with the Titans. His agent thinks that Williams is more likely to head into free agency. As far as a youth movement this would be a step in the right direction. I'd like to see us sign Baltimore's FS Will Demps also. Let's get away from these ancient safeties and get some young legs in our secondary. Would anybody be upset with this tandem?
  7. Modrak thinks Runyan still has plenty left. In addition, Modrak does have past ties with the Eagles. With the mess that we have on our O-line and Jauron liking a ground game, could this be Mike Williams replacement? http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/sports/13947173.htm I hope this link works, pretty interesting article.
  8. I don't know just what the ramifications of our current contracts but I do know that no matter how painful the decisions may be on some of our current players we do need to protect our future. There may be just a few players whose contracts are out of whack. If they impede our future with this new regime then they need to go, no matter how long they have been with the team. Not much is expected for the upcoming season. I'd much rather see us structure this season financially than to see us scramble for a few expensive victories. The real success facing this organization is balancing the ledger. I do believe that one of Marv's strengths is creating a positive work enviroment. If we are financially fit for the foreseeable future then players can and will be willing to play in Buffalo. The lumps taken this season won't be limited to just on the field but more importantly our image around the league. I believe our biggest concern should be restoring our credibility, the rest will take care of itself under this administration.
  9. Here's a novel thought. Create the most meanest massive O-line that this league has seen and just run the ball down opponents throats. Other teams have been successful when opponents knew that they were going to run. Teams like Pittsburgh, Denver and Baltimore have made the play-offs and even won the Super Bowl (Baltimore) with very little offense. Of course it helps to have a great defense. I don't think our defense is terrible and with Jauron, a couple of additions and a little tweaking of current personnel this defense could be more than adequate to control opposing offenses. I know it's the same battle cry about fixing the O-line but this time go with the intention of just REALLy being a ball control offense by running the ball. We do have Willis and some good to great WRs. If it's JP or whoever, our QB is not too hateful to be able to just chuck the ball a few times during a possesion. Heck, JP even has some wheels so let's put them to good use! We don't have another RB on the roster to compliment Willis then gets one of them too. I hated the dull boring offense that Baltimore employed during their Super Bowl year but I have to tell ya, it sure doesn't look too shabby now.
  10. When you think about the FB position we have a what a 34 yr. old manning this position? Burns backs him up but you never even hear about him anymore, so good could he possibly be? Maybe a FB isn't that big of a deal but all the more you think that the TE/HB position would be all that much more important. Granted, TD & CO. did draft Everett but isn't that a little too late for a position that we never really addressed or made a priority for? I do question this now that I look back. For the last few years we drafted all kinds of WRs that are still on the team. From Reed to Aikens to Evans to Roscoe. We were slated to be a power running team and Everett is really is just a pass catcher. I don't know, you see some of these teams that have HBs who do block AND catch. What a novel idea. I wonder, if Peters really did improve his blocking then why not just make him an HB and then go draft or sign a FA who truly is O-lineman. If I remember correctly, coming out of college Peters had deceptive speed for a big man. Even if it isn't Peters I wonder why these positions have been forgotten or were treated like an afterthought. It was like we were only concerned with paying attention to only the majority of our offense and not all of it. Weird.
  11. I for one hope that the Bills find a way to retain Moulds. The talent on this team is not too far removed from being competitive. I do believe that the glaring weaknesses that we have on both the defensive and offensive lines will be addressed and rectified to a somewhat satisfactory degree. In my eyes that would basicly just leave the QB position as a unknown factor. Without Moulds who would know how much of a impact it would have for JP or whoever mans this position.
  12. Hey thanks for your input Albany,n.y., and oh, your common sense.
  13. I'm not suggesting a replacement for Everett but an addition to him. Hasn't the TE position been a weakness for this team? Here is an additional solid option for our roster. The more weapons we have the better.
  14. I wasn't thinking about getting him as a blocker but as a reciever. Everett is still inexperienced and until he can show that he can play at this level AND stay healthy then a recieving TE should be important in Fairchild's system. We shouldn't be thinking of using a draft pick to accomplish this at any time during the draft. A FA can and will fill this need. Who better than one from his own system?
  15. We need TEs and Campbell should be dispensible. Coaches like players that are familiar with their system and this guy should be quite acclimated with Fairchild's. Would he be a good addition?
  16. Baltimore's FS Will Demps. We tag Clements and trade him and then slide Vincent in his spot.
  17. Wow Max Fischer, what a accurate analogy. I'll give losman the benefit of the doubt. I think (or hope, I'm not sure which yet) Jauron will bring a calming influence to this upended team. I do think that it would be in our best interest to still bring in more stability to this position this year. In case of injury, lack of production or anything else that could go awry. Going with a still unproven young QB and a journeyman doesn't give me the best of confidence. Hopefully this Losman proves alot of people wrong, including me. There's nothing that I would enjoy more. Thanks for your intelligent response.
  18. With plenty weaknesses to address. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Donahoe type move this year with Clements. Tag him and trade him. Marv will not only want to make a splash right away but just how much time do you really think this guy has? Between him and the new coaching staff you can anticipate rapid movement with this organization THIS year. Nobody wants Donahoe's egg on their face. The way to deal or to improve yourself, is to trade from your resources. This could mean anything from borrowing pick(s) from the 2007 draft to moving down in this year's draft and accumalating multiple picks in the process. Another option would be to package up pick(s) and player(s) to aquire proven or better talent for your roster. Initially I was thinking that this new administration would be conservative but on more reflection I think you could expect the opposite. This just might be in the flavor of old Donahoe himself. We have more than our share of needs to fulfill with time and patience running out. look for a VERY active FA and draft movement this year. Hopefully we make the right choices.
  19. Let's face it, Holcomb was never nothing but a safety net. Donahoe refused to trade up for Big Ben but had to grab a QB in the 1st rd before all the options were gone. Bledsoe NEVER showed a total committment in Buffalo like he displayed in his 1st year in Dallas. When Bledsoe was not receptive to mentoring/backing up JP it was time for him to go. I don't know if Donahoe should of stayed with Bledsoe for another year and let JP mature a little longer on the bench but I do know that just handing the reins to Losman was a big time error. This benefitted NOBODY. Enter Holcomb. If this guy was even close to being a bonafide starter then Cleveland would of never let him go, especially when Couch was a proven bust by this time. I will say it ONE more time. We need to solidify and and add other options to this position. JP just might be the solution but this whole past year was nothing but detrimental for him. If Losman does happen to rise to the occasion, then all the more kudos for him. No stat line will ever be able to show just how much this kid would of had to have overcome. In this case, Buffalo would be fortunate to have him. I just think that these are pretty big odds to overcome. There is only one question that people should not lose sight of. For whatever reason, what if Losman doesn't succeed as a starter in Buffalo in the near future or, worst case scenario, at all?
  20. I have to say, that's a very fair observation that you just stated The Dean. In all fairness to Losman he does deserve the opportunity to show what he can do. I just don't think Marv & Co. are as committed or secure in their opinion of him as the past administration and some of the posters are on this board. Don't be shocked or surprised if this off season/draft brings a new alternative to the table. If the faith (or lack of) seems to be against Losman, then I think we will see just how strong his mentality is. I do think that he is a competitor, I'm just not so confident about his game smarts. It's going to be a very interesting preseason.
  21. That's a pretty good observation on a good TE Lofton80. An athletic, pass catching TE might just be his saving grace or at least this team's. It might be a wise move for JP to become fast friends with Everett. I still think that there might be an unexpected twist to the QB position this season. This position is still very vunerable and I would expect that the new coach and/or GM will at least solidify this position with new, outside source(s). This does not necessarily mean that JP won't be the starter, just that there'll be more new competition at this position.
  22. The hiring of a new QB coach may just indicate what the organization thinks of him. If one were to venture a guess, then Wyche not being a part of his growth doesn't bode well for him. Does JP start this year or does the new coach makes it a point for another option?
