  1. You could dumb down your comments with more inside Hannity references. That would be fun.
  2. "Mind your effing business" works for me but STFU is more succinct. I vote for STFU. Tebow is going to be an annoying guy in the lockerroom. "Guys let's huddle up and have a pre-jockstrap prayer."
  3. You've been answered. HDTV picture quality sucks when being fed a standard def signal. HD cable will cost you more money. HD DVD player (Blu Ray player) will also cost more. If you have Tivo (most important purchase for anyone who watches any TV), you'll need an HD Tivo too. Nevertheless, I have friends who bought an HDTV because they wanted a slim TV to be wall mounted. Their TV is not fed an HD signal and they do not have a blu ray DVD player. It drives me nuts to be at their house watching blurry TV but that's how they roll. All blurry all the time.
  4. Nothing like an "inside" Hannity joke everyone can relate to.
  5. I keep staring down their Nexus Phone. Hard to give up my iPhone.
  6. Upgrade from a HOF WR in Owens to...Hardy? Butler is gone. Wood may start on the PUP. The line might be about the same. It's not going to be that much better.
  7. Forget the tax credits for a second. I have a friend who is a doctor and loved the Philadelphia area. But he moved for one reason: malpractice risks were through the roof here and carved too deep a slice of flesh from his pocket. Even now where he lives in Maryland, he gets killed but not as much. So think about it: the government can inspire more people to become doctors by enacting substantive tort reform. Of course, the dems won't do that and scoff at the Reps for even bringing it up. Tort reform would raise the salaries of doctors substantially. Back to my doc friend, this guy is a top surgeon who went to a top school. You'd think he's making millions (frankly, I want my surgeon to be making millions) but he's not. He's got a nice house, a couple middle-class cars and take a vacation in South Carolina for a week every year. The flip side of his nice mid-upper class life is some guy in family practice who has 250K in debt and is only making 120K/year. It's not worth it to him to have gone to med school.
  8. The pre-existing condition law and the health care for dependents to age 26 are great. Most of the rest is ****. And STILL no tort reform!
  9. Bills do not need a QB with 3 years at best left in the tank. McNAbb is hurt every year behind a good line with a borderline HOF RB. How do you think he will fare behind the Bills line with shakey WRs and fair RBs?
  10. Yeah but asking a room of strangers to pray is douchey. STFU and pray for a good Wonderlic score in silence.
  11. Take it back. I don't want to research 10 dumber ones.
  12. The best thing to happen to the US is to have creditor number one pull back...that will force fiscal responsibility faster than almost any other thing. Funny right? The Chinese may force the US government to start being responsible.
  13. No. This is the doctor's problem. Schedule people appropriately. If it's consistent that people take longer than anticipated, space out the appointments more. No one minds waiting 10 minutes but the regular 1-2+ hour wait is not professional. And yes, I've left doctors already for this. The problem is that it's so consistent that it's nearly impossible to find a doc who doesn't work like this. And as an FYI, I have top shelf insurance, schedule well in advance, and show up on time. The medical profession is not respectful and professional to its patients.
  14. That's a fine answer. How about the office doesn't schedule so many people then? Or get better at spacing out appointments? The current trend at almost every doctor I see is to cram in all the appointments until 3ish and then frmo 3-5 is overspill time for all the people who are runnign late. It's a disrespectful way to treat other people's time. Doctors are not exempt from treating people with respect. Yeah, same with engineers. I have met too many brilliant Asain/Indian engineers and doctors to discredit a single one because of their ethnicity.
  15. China can't stab Uncle Sam in the back without blowing themselves to hell. The US and China are in a death dance. If the US defaults on its debt to China, it's not like China can repossess all the land west of the Mississippi. China wants the US to dig out of its hole...but slowly so it can continue to rise up.
  16. I openly advocate the murder of may American Idol contestants. Does that make me a conservative theocrat?
  17. I understand the anger and resentment about this guy but my question still stands. Mr. Smith (and let's just say 25 million other Mr. Smiths) is 75 and can't work anymore. He has no savings or social security. What happens to him? Tom's wolves response is interesting but not likely conscionable. So what's the realistic answer? I ask because I actually agree that I'd prefer to have my Social Security in my pocket than the system. But having created the system, how do we uncreate it? And what do we do with the Mr. Smiths?
  18. How about the government not being in the business of redisrtibuting wealth? What you make is yours. And when you die, you can give it away to people you loved in life, charities, however you see fit. I know this is a crazy argument from the perspective of what is actually right and moral but I'm insane like that. It's not like there is a finite amount of wealth. And it's not like the "rich" don't give away zillions.
  19. FWIW, Mike Mularky's Twitter says he's spending the day doing some Spring gardening.
  20. So person X with no retirement savings can't work anymore. What happens to him?
  21. LOVE St John. No interest in St. Thomas. Visited Tortola and Gorda on snorkel trips while on St. John and they look beautiful. Tortola is being built up but still not overrun.
  22. Yeah but Smeagol isn't funny and Rosie is. I have no problem with politics. It's not like I'm watching either one of their shows.
  23. The trick of the Asian/Indians is not that they are a drop in expertise as some have implied. There are few 2-3rd gen Americans willing to go into the sciences but for whatever reason, Indians/Asains value it. So that's just who's going to med school in the US. A specialist I recently saw is Indian (born there, med school there...then med school here later). Awesome doctor and leading surgeon in his field.
  24. Yep. That's how colleges award financial aid. I assume social security will be like that too. "Congrats on paying so much into the system for the last 40 years AND saving so much. Your reward for your fiscal responsibility and sacrifice is...nothing because the system has to support the slackers."
  25. That is covered in most medical plans so no need to add a new plan.
