  1. IHAVEPOORJUDGEMENTANDAMNOT[/b]aman101' timestamp='1331929019' post='2411719']

I am just as excited as anyone that we got Mario! Who would ever think we had a chance to land him here.

But come on guys, Mario is great, and will be great for us but we need more help and the draft alone is NOT going to do it.

Im not a GM or a football expert. I enjoy the game but have some street smarts too.

We dont have to break the bank on another FA but what Buddy should do is bring in some above average talent. There are plenty of players out there looking to prove something.

One thing is a fact is this guys. You have have all the talent in the world, but chemistry wins championships!

On a good note guys, please be safe this weekend! Its a drinking weekend and the weather will be nice. Keep you and your families safe from the drunk drivers!

    Go Bills!

    Fixed

  2. Don't we have more cap space? I haven't heard any rumors about other signings except that we have talked to Mario Manningham. I think we have many other holes to fill. I'm really hoping we are not calling it quits in free agency just because of one huge signing.

This is what happens when you don't have a minimum post requirement for starting threads.

  3. If they plan on using the 10th pick for a tackle no reason to sign Bell. They would have 2 young tackles cheep!!! I still wouldnt mind seeing Bell back for a like a 2 year deal at moderate money, if next year he is not needed trade him for future pick.

I agree. It sounds like we're telegraphing the pick here. We didn't re-sign our starter and the GM came out and said Hairston is a "start down the line" kind of guy. Looks like Hairston will be a swing tackle and they're going to draft Martin. Not a very sexy pick, but if we get a guy who can start for the next 10 years, I'm good with it.

2-4 are probably CB DE OLB CB. We need multiple CBs to groom this year cause all we have for the future is Williams. Florence and McGee are getting old and McKelvin probably won't be re-signed once his rookie contract is up at year's end if he's expecting big money.

  4. Make way for the Miami Dolfelons at the position of perennial bottom-dwellers of the AFC East. The team is quickly gaining a terrible reputation, going after 3 people publicly (2 coaches and Manning) and losing out has their fan base fuming. Now, they are reportedly trying to low-ball Flynn, thinking he'll take a smaller offer WHILE VISITING SEATTLE in order to sign with Philbin, his former coordinator. I truly hope that he signs with Seattle and Tanenhill goes before the Dolphins' pick, leaving them with not QB of the future. Perception is everything in signing free agents. Buffalo has been taking major steps at shaking the perception of being a franchise in disarray and it looks like Miami is taking up that public mantle and running with it. Here's to them becoming the new Raiders East!

  5. I will sit tight with my earlier mock Bills Dream Draft 2012...

"I expect to win every game!" - Chan Gailey

    19 and 0 baby!!!!! B-)

    .

We will not be drafting a GUARD in the first round. I have heard 2 different teams with late 1st rounders say Hightower is their guy. Hill will be gone at least by the 2nd round with the combine he had. I wouldn't like this draft at all. AND ou have us taking not 1 but TWO guards? Pass.

I could see 10-6. Most likely we drop one to Seattle or Tennessee and go 9-7.

Who are the 5 idiots who think we're getting LESS than 4 wins this season?

  7. Well, you can look at it (like every other negative thing in life) in one of two ways:

1- we deserve some basic respect because the media gives it to everyone else, give it to us!

2- Screw the media. We can't force them to love us. The only way to get them to stop ignoring us is to be so good they have to talk about us.

  8. WOW it's awful funny that if he was a quitter as you say how come he has the second highest sack amount in Bills history behind Bruce & at the same point in his career as Mario Williams the 6 year mark Schobel had 60.5 sacks in comparison to 53 for Mario !!

Sounds to me like your just a jump on the band wagon when things are going good Bills fan and don't or should i say can't see a real Bills type player when you see one .

For gods sake the guy was the best thing in a BIlls uni for years & left it all out on the field every time he was out there , he was the only thing we had to route for & you are nothing more than a ingrate !! why don't you go join the Jets or better yet the Eagles fan base you would fit right in .

As far as you saying he is anti what this team is about is so far off base ! He is all what this team is about never Quitting putting it all on the field , giving his all for ONE team a blue collar guy !! I don't know what Arron Schobel you were watching but it must have been from a alternate demention b/c the Schobel i watched i exactly the opposite of the guy you are talking about !!

I think you must be talking about Albert Haynseworth but even you would notice the difference of race ??? Well maybe not !!! :w00t:

I'm not thinking that he would come back but man you are way off base on this one !!!!

I believe the issue is the likelihood of being productive after a 2 year retirement. Don't see it happening.

  9. I agree, how can you fault a guy for trying to find out what he's worth on the open market. Especially when it's a soft FA class for LT's. All signs point to him getting a very good contract.

I suppose what bothered me is that he didn't even bother to respond to our contract offer. Bell came into this league as a VERY raw prospect and the Bills held onto him and developed him and gave him a shot as a starter. My only real bone with him is the lack of loyalty in not responding to the contract offer. I understand testing free agency to see what your value is, I just take issue with the way he went about it. You're right though, the comment was a bit bombastic. Of course I would want him back under the right circumstances. But, I don't think he's a franchise LT. Martin may or may not be a franchise LT, I don't know. I'd rather have Bell around to allow us some freedom in the draft though. I wouldn't sign him for anything over 4 though.

  10. I'm still buzzing about signing Williams. Started thinking about the draft now. Are we forced to go LT now that we've relieved some pressure from acquiring a pass rush (I'd still like 2 more DL bought in via the draft)? The consensus here before Mario was some form of Floyd/Mercillus/Ingram/Coples/Martin. Should I narrow that down to just Martin now? I don't see a starting caliber LT on our roster at present. Hairston needs more time to develop. On another note, I'm salty about Bell even looking to FA. We picked him up in the 7th and developed him into a decent LT. He hasn't played a full season at LT for us and he decides to walk and take the money. I honestly don't even want him back now.

  11. Kyle Williams was a HUGE reason we got Mario.

You gotta listen to this if you're at all interested in the process.

Kyle says they were having a great time at OBD after dinner just hanging out

Mario "Man, I wish my fiancee was here to see this"

Kyle "Big man, you've got all the power right now, tell them to fly her up...they'll send someone to give her a piggyback ride if you want them to"
