1. Sergio Kindle (not sure about the rumor about injury) - a nice OLB who can rush the passer 2. Charles Brown - has the potential to be a LT, not sure he is a day 1 starter, but I like what I see from this guy on film, a lot better than Anthony Davis IMO 3. Linval Joseph - A big bodied DL who fits into the 3-4 4. Eric Norwood - another OLB who can get after the passer 5. Jimmy Clausen - I've been on record as not being a big fan of Clausen. At the #41 I'd be much more comfortable with gambling on him. Don't know if he'll be the answer at QB in B-Lo, but it may be worth the risk at #41, don't trade away additional picks to land him, though

If you look at Dan Williams tape against Alabama (on YouTube) he's a non factor on far too many plays. He get's washed out in that game way too often to be confident with that guy as a top 10 pick. If the laziness reports are true, it's even further proof he's not worth a top 10 investment. Let's hope the Bills follow their board and all the scouts who've been analyzing players for the last 10 months.

Agreed 100%. He is a 2nd round talent who plays at a premium position. I also fear he'll be in the running when the pick is up.

Ben Roethlisberger to Oakland Raiders a Done Deal?
Estro replied to JimBob2232's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly now that LaCanfora is reporting he'll stay, means he's probably going. The Steelers are probably trying to coax an extra mid round pick out of whatever team (the Raiders) want Ben. By the way I think this would be a big time trade for the Raiders. Yeah, they're giving up their best defender, but in order to start competing they need a competent starting QB, and Big Ben is much more than that. They also still would have a 1st round pick to take a CB to replace Asohmuga. -
Could very well be, but it wouldn't surprise me is Nawrocki's connect with the Bills (Brandon or Modrak) is still with the team so I'm sure he has the pulse on the situation. For those saying Saffold and Joseph in the 2nd and 3rd, notice how Nawrocki has them both going in the 1st round. Russ Lande's been telling me for a while that Linval Joseph may be pushed up into the 1st round when it's all said and done. It looks like he may be right.

Thanks fro posting, I've been on the lookout for Nawrocki's final mock all morning. Should be interesting!

McClain #1, and Cody #2 would be a huge dissapointment IMO. An ILB in a 3-4 defense who isn't a thumper and not very fast at #9 is a reach. The dropoff between guys like Brandon Spikes, Donald Butler, Sean Lee & Rolando McClain is not very significant. To then follow up reaching for McClain, by reaching for Cody would be a huge mistake. Cody is out of shape, and extremely slow. He actually ran the slowest 40 time, of any timed NFL prospect in the last 25 years. That's a scary stat. In the NFL 3-4 DT's need to be big (which Cody is), but they also need to be athletic and have great endurance. Cody has netiher. I could be wrong, but I'm just stating my strong opinions. In the end I hope Nix goes out and gets the right guys for this team.

Okay so it looks like: 1- Trent Williams 2- Russell Okung 3- C.J. Spiller 4- Rolando McClain 5- Dan Williams Wouldn't mind the first 3, and I prefer Trent Williams to Okung. Don't like Dan Williams or McClain with the #9 pick, so that would definitely dissapoint. Now the last piece of the puzzle is to wait on Nolan Nawrocki's final mock draft, which should be realeased later today. He's accurately predicted the Bills #1 pick the last 4 years (Whitner, Lynch, McKelvin, Maybin).

NFL.com Draft Vignettes...CHECK THESE OUT!
Estro replied to Wilson from Gamehendge's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Great content. Thanks for sharing. -
I think the Eagles are the team that benefits the most from this trade. For a 5th round pick, they get a quality starting weakside LB, who is still relatively young (25). Good move.

Ernie Sims is a good player for the Eagles.

What are your surprise draft predictions?
Estro replied to Phlegm Alley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I could see Dan Williams going lower than where most people are projecting him now as well. I've thought for a while that Dan Williams has been overhyped in the media. He and Jared Odrick have clearly become the #3 & #3A DT's of this draft behind Suh and McCoy, but both are late 1st round prospects. It wouldn't be all that surprising to see Odrick go before him, because he could be viewed as a more versatile, safer pick. -

Good call on the Rams getting a 1 next year plus some for this years #33. You'd have to assume some team will have a player that they have with a solid mid 1st round grade still on the baord at #33. -
What are your surprise draft predictions?
Estro replied to Phlegm Alley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Jeff Owens, DT, Georgia - will be selected in Round 2 of the draft (I've seen him mainly in round 5 in mock drafts) Rolandon McClain will not be selected in the 1st half of round 1. Tim Tebow will not be selcted in Round 1. Brian Bulaga is not selected in the Top 10 of the draft. Trent Williams is off the board before Russell Okung. -
Are the ones the are already up on youtube just snippets or the whole segments? So far on youtube there is one with Bradford, Clausen, McCoy and Tebow.
-
I didn't include Clausen because deep down I don't think the Bills are interested in him in the top 10. A little small, a good but not great arm, okay accuracy on the deep ball, but needs work. I don't really see much of a difference between Clausen and Quinn's skill sets coming out and so far Quinn hasn't produced in the NFL. I can't envision Buddy Nix thinking that Jimmy Clausen is the answer at QB. Dan Williams is another prospect who I feel has been overrated. His tape does not warrant a top 10 pick.
-
Could very well be. He's not #1 on my wish list, but I'd be happy with Brandon Graham.
-
I would be disgusted with McClain in the top 10. I may be in the minority on this board, but I just don't see the hype in McClain. If you take an ILB in the top 10 he better not have many weaknesses, and McClain has apparent weakness IMO. I've said it before, but I'll say it again: I like both Brandon Spikes and Donald Butler better than McClain and I think both could be available in the early-late 2nd round. Yea, Spikes is a little slow, but he compensates that with his instincts, just look at all the plays he made in the SEC. A much better tackler than McClain too. But anyways that's my personal rant.

Highly Rated: Sam Bradford - the only QB the Bills would consider at #9, won't be there anyways and they know this. Trent Williams - for all the pub Okung gets, Williams is rated as the #1 OT by many scouts. There's a little concern about his weight and how he'll handle a big payday, but he's a better pass protector and a much better run blocker than Okung IMO. There's things he needs to improve, but with Gailey's emphasis on the running game, Williams is probably rated higher than Okung. C.J. Spiller - A homerun threat, who is arguably the #1 skill position prospect in this draft. He may not be our #1 choice, but if the draft goes a certaian way the Bills may be forced to draft him because he'll be so much higher than other guys still on the board. He showed he could carry the load this past season at Clemson and if you get him the ball in the open field, Touchdowns are near. Brandon Graham - He may not have the ideal size or athleticism you look for in a 3-4 OLB, but he's produced big time in Michigan. He plays with great leverage and is solid vs. both the run and the pass. He lead all defensive players last year with more than 20 tackles for loss. We're thin at OLB, so he also fills a big need. He's compared a lot to Woodley, who has fit in real well in Pitt's 3-4 and we'll be running a similar 3-4 so he should fit in Buffalo's scheme. Derrick Morgan - Originally recruited to play at GT by our head coach, Chan Gailey, so even if they won't admit it, there is going to be a positive bias toward Morgan. Much like Graham, he's been a producer, and he's got good height, 6'3", to play either end or OLB. He'd bring some much needed toughness to the Bills front 7. Whether or not the Bills view him as an OLB or a DE (he'd need to bulk up to be a DE) is a big question I have. Demaryius Thomas - A bit of a surprise, but he's talented and would fill a humongous need. The Bills receiving core, as it stands now, is bad. Thomas broke his foot not even 2 months ago, and it seemed his stock would really suffer. After Dez Bryant's poor workouts and character concerns, Thomas is back in the conversation for possibly being the top WR taken. He played in a run heavy offense with a QB who wasn't a very good/accurate passer and as a result his numbers suffered. Come next Thursday, I think Thomas hears his name called in the Top 20.

Good call. I just lef ta message on the Tim Graham thread. How can I PM John Wawrow, I've never really familiarized myself with PM'ing members.

Tim, I'm currently taking a football scouting course through SMWW.com. I have to speak to someone involved w/ scouting or in a football front office and would love to track someone down from the Buffalo Bills. Any words of advice on the best way I could go about contacting someone who maybe willing to help? I called the Bills Customer Sevice already and I'm still awaiting a reply, but I'm not sure that is the best route to get a hold of somebody. Thanks for any advice you can give me.

good one

Hey guys I figured I'd ask here to see if anyone can help me out. As part of a football scouting course I'm taking through smww.com we are required to interview someone involved in the front office of a football organization. I could shoot low and go with a local college scout or an AFL team personnel, but I'd really like to get a hold of someone who works for the Bills. Any recommendations on the best way I could get a hold of someone? Thanks for any help you can provide.

To spice it up I'm going to throw a Lynch trade into my mock (just to make it more absurd) #9 - Trent Williams, OT, Oklahoma #41 - Eric Norwood, OLB, South Carolina #60 - Dexter McCluster, RB, Ole Miss (from Seattle for Marshawn Lynch) #72 - Donald Butler, ILB, Washington #107 - Jeff Owens, DT, Georgia

Bills looking for second rounder for Lynch
Estro replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know that any team would be dumb enough to give up a 2nd rounder for Lynch. If there was one team dumb enough to do it, it would make sense that it'd be a Pete Carroll led team. This guy is destined to flame out of the NFL for a second time. At #60 overall (Seahawks 2nd round pick) we could get a quality player, and like others have said......Lynch's production is easily replacable.
