I'm not an expert in financial advice, but I tend to agree with you that this Oil boom is no different than the tech/internet boom of the 90's. The smart money will be out of oil soon enough, and all the followers who jumped on late and listened to all the hype of the media will be left with empty financial accounts. As soon as the fed begins to raise rates... watch out. An amazing time to buy stocks if you're in it for the long haul, there are so many great buys out there.

From a business standpoint... The Bils need to hold their ground. I am in business for myself, and generally have about 15-20 employees working for me at any given time. My businesses success is directly related to the quality of workers i have. I generally have a mix of veterans and rookies every year. Guys tend to outperform their pay, and veterans will someitmes be overpaid relative to their performance. One thing I do know is you DO NOT cave into the demands of a single player/employee demanding a raise. It opens up some nasty floodgates. Their are many players who have over achieved their contracts already. How about McGee, Jabari Greer, Lee Evans, Trent Edwards, Marshawn Lynch, Angelo Crowell etc... What do you do if they see the Bills caved in to Peters demands, and they all want new current market deals relatve to their current performance. I have learned from experience that once you do it for one guy, everyone feels entitled to this new money, or feels left out by not getting more money. Tough to keep everybody happy! If Jason Peters was an all pro golfer or tennis player, I would say pay the man his money, however he is on a team of 53 guys who are all working their arses off with him.

Anybody who can triple their money on a regular basis (as the guy slamming you claims) ought to have his face on the cover of money magazine right next to Warren Buffet and Bill Gates.

Yea... just water the hell out of it. I noticed since i added sprinklers to my back yard (used to have them n the just the front) most of the issues have gone away. A Well fed lawn (Water and fertilizer) usually keeps most weeds out. When i redid my backyard, I got a couple loads of soil from the dump, put seed in it, mixed it in with a rake, then watered the heck out of it.

Here are my two cents... The both of you were in the wrong. Knowing she is a "control freak" living in controlled chaos, you have to assume and be ready for incidents such as the remote control. You have to accept that you are using her crap and have to follow her rules, but at the same time, i would lighten the situation up by making a wise crack at her about how shes talking to you. In your own sadistical way, you "controlled" the situation by not bending your ways to accomodate them with having a late dinner. You drove 10 hrs to visit your sister, your kid can be late to bed one night. Maybe the guy had 10 business phonecalls while he was out getting groceries. For you to pull out and leave like that to me was the most immature event that took place throughout the whole story. I feel you owe your sister an apology for the cold exit, but an explanation as to why you reacted like that. One thing I would assume being from the outside is that she has never brought up your income when comparing both of you, maybe offered financial advice which you had taken offense to. Myself making more money than most of my friends, have to be careful about advice I dish out which most of them dont care to hear,or take offense to (for example getting out of credit card debt etc) In the end, it is more important for your daughter to have a fun lasting memory being at her aunt and uncle's hanging with her cousin then to be in bed on time. Sometimes you have to be the better man and suck it up and break your routine and method of controlled chaos. Also in general, most women are biatches, especially succesful ones. Its all relative...taxes are in theory money being flushed down the toilet. If you can pay the same taxes on a house worth 3x's as much, its a better investment 10-20yrs down the road when you go to sell it. Assuming you make 5%/yr in appreciation, and you're paying 6k/yr in taxes on both properties after 10 years each homeowner pays 60k in taxes, however buffalo house at 100k would be worth about 163k, whereas house B in JOESCHMOEville worth 400k would be worth 651k. You basically break even in buffalo, whereas house B you actually gain principle of 191,000. Thats the main difference.
