You know what bothered me watching the Bills roundup
kota replied to BillsD#1in2008's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Did you actually see the throw? It was a duck. -
The team's success will depend on two people:

Words of Doom...... "Bend but don't Break" This is the kind of defense we have had since Pat Williams left. Every year i see the playoff teams with strong attacking defenses. Teams that blitz on a regular basis. WE haven't had that in a few years. You could chalk it up to not having the players to do that sort of thing until this year. There is no reason to not be an attackign defense this year. All the pieces are there assuming no significant injuries occur. If the Bills do a "Bend but don't break" attitude type defense with the players we currently have we are screwed. Dick Jauron to me is way to conservative of a coach who doesn't believe enough in his team to take chances. Trent Edwards isn't an issue if you ask me. Trent Edwards play is going to be based upon a few things. 1) Offensive Coaches letting him be a QB fully. This means letting him make his own adjustments at the line. 2) James Hardy - Can he not be a typical WR and learn the NFL game quickly enough to be a factor. Will his size automatically make defenses shift coverage to him enough if he is a rookie. If Hardy can prove to be a threat early on the offense will improve dramatically in all areas. 3) Offensive Line - This line is probably the best since the Kelly years. I would like to see them become a bruiser of a line that just manhandles the opponent. If Marshawn Lynch can drag 3 people with him i think they can help some more. Trent Edwards to me has all the tools to be a good if not great QB in the league down the line. He has size, some mobility, quick release, strong arm, and the brains to do it. Yes a JP losman fan is speaking wonders of Trent Edwards. Even as a JP Losman fan i know that Trent's upside as a QB is much higher. -
Arena League Players Don't Get Drug Tested?
kota replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The US government will probably not go after the Arena Football. People need to understand that the only reason why Congress got involved with the MLB Steroid problem or NFL Spygate is because of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. These Senators and Congressman who say it's for the children is a bunch of BS if you ask me. Like most things Senators and Congressman have their dirty little paws in this industry. If the Fans get mad and stop spending money on these sports it affects their pocket books. So they put on a dog and pony show i hopes that people will feel more secure that something is being done. -
Don't you guys listen to your mothers? Didn't she tell you to never sign anything you didn't read or understand? It's the same case with Ralph. They had 45 minutes to sign the old deal. The clubs got scared at the 12th hour and said 'yes" to stop any potential stoppage of work. Ralph still said no way in face of that fact. It just goes to show that he has more balls then the Bob Krafts of the world.

I am mortified this is still a story.

REPORT: PATS* HAD HUGE ADVANTAGE OVER EVERY NFL TEAM
kota replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was talked about on Sirius this morning. If i remember correctly it was against the Bucs in 2001. Bledsoe was the Quarterback he got sacked like 6 times and hurried 20+. The pats lost the game but it was close. -
At least we know our team came in 2nd 4 years in a row. You on the other hand cannot say for 100 percent certainty that the taping didn't help the pats win those superbowls. Even if the pats winning those superbowls was 99.99% players and coaches there is still that .01 percent that wasn't. That .01% is the pats tainted legacy. Enjoy the taint.

JAMES HARDY KICKED MY PUPPY!!!!1 SOMEONE CALL PETA.
-
I don't care if you have a Hand gun license or not. If you brandish a gun in a threatening manner at someone you are not going to walk away free. It's obvious the police have no issue as to what happened so why should we? The best thing for Hardy is to be in buffalo so he can be around a group of men. With luck one of the players on this team will be able to teach him the ways of the NFL amd life. Hardy needs to take his Son and turn his back on everyone from his past including his parents. I have serious doubts that his parents intentions with his success is anything positive.

Do the patriots have good players? YES Do the Patriots have good coaches? If you exclude Belichick then the answer is YES because coaches from that organization have moved on with success other places. The above two questions is what the fanbase for the Patriots and the Media people who love the patriots use to justify their their Superbowl wins in light of the taping scandal. The fact of the matter is that no matter how good their coaches maybe or their players they gained an unfair advantage in football games from taping the signals. They broke the rule. Belichick's explanation on why he did it as a misinterruptation of the rule is laughable. Belicheck is toted as a genius in football. If he is a genius then he is the dumbest smartguy in the NFL. He is trying to use a 'loophole' or the grey area of the rule to justify his actions. He could have been a lawyer. The bottom line is that if Belichick was a standup guy he would have called the NFL office asking for clarification. If Belichick needed clarification then i am willing to bet the NFL would have clarified the rule and sent a memo about it. None of this took place because Belichick was looking for an advantage for his football team and turned a blind eye to his integrety. I doubt the patriots will get fined anymore then what they have. IT's a black mark on the NFL and the patriots. In ten years i am sure some Patriots fan will see my Bills Hat and sweatshirt and comment on the 4 superbowls. My response will be quick in pointing out the video taping. As a Bills fan i willl know that my team came in 2nd 4 straight years in a row. As a Patriots fan they will never know if their their Superbowl wins would have occurred without the Video Taping. It's impossible to know. Some fans will yell and scream YES THEY WOULD HAVE. But i crack a smile each time i hear it because i am sure there is some doubt in the their minds when they puff out their chests with Patriots pride.

It's lower then i expected they would get. 78 Million over 5 years

It depends on special Teams and what they do for it.

I don't blame him. He has had 4 different quarterbacks during his time here. Bledsoe, Holcomb, Losman, Edwards. IT's pretty sad that it's been like that with such a good talent. I always felt bad for Eric Moulds who had a good career but i think could have been better if there wasn't such a flux at QB since Jim Kelly. Lets hope he meets Hardy goes through Mini camps with him and decides he likes what he sees. I hope the Bills are willing to pay the cash for him because if we don't we will be looking for another receiver in next years draft.

Hardy = JJ Stokes, Dwayne Jarrett, Mike Williams???

Isn't every player a risk? -
I for one like the fact that we have 2 kick returners now. Mcgee is getting older and at times i wonder if the load is to much. We now have a young kick who can take some of the load.

If he beat an Infant child he would have been in jail. -
1st Round Selection: CB Leodis McKelvin - Troy, 11th pick overall

I love this thread. so many arm chair GM's who think they know it all. -
There are 2 channels for 212 a HD one and a regular one. Change the channel one down.

i don't understand why people dislike Drew. I have no issues with him because he is doing his job. An agents job isn't to side with the club but to side with the player. His job is to get a player the best deal possible. The only reason why Drew has a bad rep is because he represented TO during that fiasco. Another thing i would like to point out. the players he represents are supposed to be grown men who make their own decisions. A player has the right at any time to tell his Agent to back down. Agents work for players not the other way around.

Two days out, after all of my draft analysis,

So they can grab Mcfadden who won't be there. -
I am not a expert in this sort of thing but this is what I would like to see. The Bills have 3 areas of need in my mind. WR, CB, and TE. WR - Sick of the Bills getting down to the 20 yard line and then trying to force the ball into the end zone with Marshawn. I believe that you need to take one shot at the end zone within the 20 yard line to get the defense to back off. the Bills couldn't do this with the short WR's and lack of TE production. Defenses know this and stack the box cutting off the run. What Lynch was able to do in the red zone last year against the odds was amazing to me. He scored alot more TD's then he should have been able to do. Beastmode for the win. TE - We have a bunch of cast off TE's in our ranks with stone hands. Royal is horrible. I keep seeing the one TD pass he got from Trent in the Miami game. It was a good throw and he barely caught the ball. He had to bobble it for a second. CB - We need a CB who can cover Randy Moss. Greer is good but he is like 5'9 and against tall WR's he will lose the battle most the time. Ideal situation. 1) Trade down to the late Teens early 20's and then take Thomas/Sweed/Hardy. Whoever is left and highest on the Bills board. This of course hinges on finding a team who wants a player still around at the 11th pick. My guess is that a player needs to drop. A Rivers, Ryan, Albert, etc...... If you can't find a trade partner you can't trade. If we can trade we get an extra 2nd round pick. 2) In the 2nd round we take the best CB and Best TE we can get. Use the 2nd round pick we got with the trade and the one we currently have. 3) Rest of the draft is spent on finding depth or future starters. DE, DT, LB, and Offensive line.
-
Do the trade and get Hardy/Sweed with the Eagles pick. Then draft a TE in the 2nd and we are golden.

Lets Get Chris Henry, Pacman Jones, and Chad Johnson
kota replied to kota's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I lumped them together because they are all distractions to their teams. And this thread was in mockery of all the other threads i have seen on this. Every year we see posts that the bills should pick up the latest person cut, etc..... NO reason the bills need someone else's trash. -
