I'm all for that but you seem to forget that mistakes were the norm the past 2 years right after the preseason. We can't get ourselves out those holes again and expect to have a winning season.

From GB's recent history drafting QB's you gotta hope this guy is another gem. After all, he wouldn't have been Favre's backup for all those years. Maybe he can be serviceable for us somehow.

Willis and Thomas got more snaps this week as did Shaud. I think they were just looking to give the guy a break. I was gonna say he has a minor ankle injury but that might be Fred Jackson.

I don't hold that opinion. That can become a very bad habit. JP needs to learn what it is to be a QB not a glorified RB under center. He needs to learn good habits now and stick with them or defenses will never respect the passing game. Vick will never win anything until he learns what Steve Young did toward the end of his career. SB history shows that pocket passers win championships.

I don't remember if I saw that live but I've seen that highlight quite a few times on ESPN. They need to show that alot more. It's funny in a way cuz I don't think the DB realized his leg was broke. He just kept running and that limb was flopping around wildly. I guess the adrenaline in his system numbed the mind to any pain. I woulda fell down like a lil sissy girl and cried my eyes out.

In this offense, I think the staff is focusing on smaller WR's with lots of speed even tho the OC has said we're a running team. Yes, much like the Ram's wideouts.

Yes, his mistakes may be correctable but not his internal clock. If he doesn't realize he's holding he ball too long, he never will. IMO, 4 secs is enough time to make your reads and make a throw. I think JP needs to be put on a timer to fix this.

LOL, so true but this week played better against starters, with the exception of those fumbles and that INT. I'm already going to "pen" in JP for starting QB at the PB.

It would be more accurate to say that Roscoe has been invisible but I have this feeling they're saving him for the games that count.

He had QB rating over 100 and led 2 TD drives in the second half. But, this was against scrubs, not starters, so gleam what you may from this. I was a bit surprised that he didn't start the 3rd quarter to tell you the truth. Kelly didn't last long again but he didn't make many mistakes, so this has got to make one wonder. Overall, I think this offense will put up lots of points this year.

If this doesn't tell fans that JP has assumed leadership of the team, nothing will. In the postgame interview, he said it was his mistake but you can tell that was hard for him to say and swallow. Either way, he took responsibility for something that he may/may not have been responsible for. I hope he does become the opening day starter because he just earned some major respect in the lockerroom. SVEN: excellent post!!!
