I agree with the getting perspective from other view points. I have a buddy in Norway and another in Germany that have helped open my eyes up to different international perspectives on things when they were exchange students while I was in HS. Visiting Germany also didn't hurt. It got me to realize that I should be questioning of what "news" is being reported instead of blindly believing it.

That would be nice, but in this day and age of polarization, I don't see something constructive being done. Instead of doing something for the people both sides seem to be too interested in seeing who has the biggest johnson.

Well that's the beauty of polls, you can usually find one to fit your needs. To me, the problem is that Bush didn't present an *official plan*. But that didn't stop him from acting like there was one initially and touting it until it started to get shredded. Then the story became, I am open to ideas and trying to turn the tables on those who opposed it. To further muddy things up, Bush then parades around the country with pseudo town-hall style meetings acting like he does have a plan. I also agree that instead of coming up with a solution of their own, the dems prefer to piss in the wind on this matter.

Yup. That's what was so frustrating with the last pres election. The BS rhetoric that was being spewed and people were eating it up without bothering to get off their lazy butts to verify. My personal favorite was people I would talk with would say that Kerry voted against this defense bill and then throw out this bill# trying to back up their claim. It was fun asking them if they had actually *looked* at that vote breakdown to see that Republicans also voted against the bill. There were Kerry people who obviously did the same. It's one thing to have a position but at least try to back it up with some facts! I guess that's why H.L. Menkin once said "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people."

All part of the if this group agrees with us, they're credible and if they are against us, they're biased BS that you get.

My advice, stay away from crabs.

The only positive thing I can say about Dean so far is that there is never a dull moment... I would much rather hear about constructive ideas and how to bring people together as opposed to the divisive rhetoric that you get with both sides.
