I miss Steve Christie! -
RVJ said he'd be willing to float a loan to Ralph to keep Travis happy!

Why do people praise TD for not overpaying?

HA! Agreed! But Vincent's gotta be 91 by now! -

Although I understand your position on this I adamantly disagree with you on Vincent! This guy was a top corner in the league, who I should remind you (shut down Jerry Rice in one-on-one coverage last year) who got moved to safety and performed equally as well while given limited time to learn the position! He IMO was worth every cent we paid him!! -
He sounded to me like he was defending Lindell on the BB.Com (ask the g.m.) segment last week. I figure that he was trying to save face on his decision to bring him in here! I do recall whenever I was researching RL on the Seattle site that part of the reason that they dumped him was although he posted decent numbers he ultimately was the anti-vinatieri as far as coming through in the clutch! I just hope whatever camp fodder we bring in to compete against him seriously kicks his ass in every kicking category and we dump this joker!!

How awesome would that sound on opening day next season if the whole crowd started chanting "BIG CAT, BIG CAT!" as he takes the field!?! That would be sweet!

would now have QB- JPL RB- WMc Gahee WR- Moulds, Price, Evans TE- Euhus, Neufeld OL- MW, Ruben, JJ, Tucker, Sobieski, DL- Washington, Williams, Edwards, Wiley, LB- Cowart, Fisher, DB- McGee, Burris, Clements, Wire, Smith, I know I missed a bunch that we've drafted over the past few years, help me out here guys!

Unfortunately, I think you're right! The one thing I remember thinking back when TD was GM of the Steelers was, how do they "clean house" of all their key players... Greene, Kirkland, Searcy, etc. and still consistently compete? I think the answer all along was that they drafted very well! We're starting to see that now with Evans, McGahee, and hopefully Losman.

I liked the fact that Jim did a tv spot with this kid too, I don't recall him doing anything like this with Collins, RJ, or even Flutie! Hopefully Jim sees something in this guy that's special and that's why he agreed to do the ad. I don't think he needs the money!

My dad always said "your actions will always drown out your words" So I for one stopped listening to JP's words in the few press conferences and interviews he has had so far and further investigated his behavioural patterns. 1) He injured his leg trying to get extra yards (in a practice!, of all things) rather than scooting out of bounds a few yards shorter. Now I know some of you call that stupidity, but if you really think about it, it also shows determination and "heart" things I like to see in a QB. 2) Sam Wyche has been quoted as saying that he has had a hard time getting his work done because JPL has been spending so much extra time asking him questions above and beyond regular film study and playbook work. That tells me that this guy wants to be the best, well prepared QB on any given Sunday! 3) He was the first guy on the team after the season was over in the film room, working out and preparing for next season even before the Bledsoe announcement was made!.... and during the Bledsoe PConf MM said that JP was studying film as he spoke! I don't know if this guy is THE GUY that we've been waiting for since Jimbo left us in a wake of Todd Collins, RJ, DB, mess of never-weres but if you look at what he's doing right now as we sit here at our computers, I believe that no-one out there is trying harder to represent their football team and make it a winner than this kid. I can wholeheartedly support this guy based on what I've seen so far.

Yeah! We are all well aware of how a few key players on ST's can make a difference. Steve Tasker and Mark Pike come to mind... There's talk on the sites that we might lose Coy Wire as well as Prielou. I seem to recall Wire as a pretty good ST guy for us last year.
-
But who could have foreseen this at the time? I mean, he did have that great one preseason performance!!! Maybe we should have spent more money and given up more draft picks to get him to come here, maybe then he might have felt more obligated NOT TO SUCK!!

Do You Think Its Possible...
canbuffan34 replied to SouthTownBills51's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think what might attract FA players seeking the promised land is the fact that we currently hold the #2 defence in the league and the top ST unit! Not to mention a certain #21 in the backfield that I billieve will lead the league in rushing this season! Add to that JPL's mobility and he, unlike Drew can probably make effective short yardage throws and still has a cannon of an arm to get it downfield when called upon. -
We hadn't done this in awhile

Who's Your Favorite Buffalo Bills Player?

all time... Jimbo current... McGahee, J.P. (close 2nd) -
I agree! Reed is now in his third year, right? If memory serves.. Moulds didn't do jack until year 3. I say give Reed another year, if he falters... put in Aiken and release him next year. What about Haddad? Did he even see the field last year?

Random thoughts from a first time poster
canbuffan34 replied to Phlegm Alley's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Welcome aboard, Bob! I too searched and evaluated other boards on the net before landing here 2 years ago. I found that this board is by far the most thought provoking and contains posters that are "tough but fair" and they will make you laugh your ass off at times! I personally agreed with what you had to say except on two points....1) We have to re-sign Pat in order to keep that tandem of him and big Sam clogging the middle. and 2) Joe Andruzzi is a pat and I don't want any more damn patriots or former patriots on this team! GOD I HATE THOSE GUYS!!! -
Is your last name Bledsoe by any chance? Does he owe you money or something? I know! He saved your life, right!
-
Whaddya say guys? We all know about his shortcomings in recent years with this team, its disappointing.. Yes! Its unfortunate.. Yes! Do I personally wish he could of bounced back to his former self (when he played for the Pats early in his career) and made Bill Belichick eat his damn playbook in the AFC Champoinship game when we destroyed them 42-14.. Yes!!!! But that didn't happen. We never got to the playoffs with him, Belichick got the last laugh on us, AGAIN! Its over, luckily for us TD and MM now know what NE knew when they sent him here! You guys can keep talking about Drew all you want... I want to know 2 things! 1) Every single bit of info on this guy in my avater and 2) Who is going to be backup QB for the guy in my avater!

Does anybody know what Stewart's current situation is with the Bears? He did go to the Bears right?
-
Good question! When is our first pick this year?
-
I think given the circumstances Kordell Stewart does make quite a bit of sense here! The only downside to this though is trying to determine where Slash's head is at. Do you guys think that he would take JP "under his wing" or would he be a cancerous tumor with his own agenda of wanting to be starter?
-
It was, yeah! We also shouldn't discount the fact that Mike Tice and co. probably were a little more concerned with PP than they were with Josh. Not to nitpick but the Moulds' quote was "just throw the ball to Peerless" remember?
