Think about it. What we saw out there today was basically all of our previous playoff defenses minus Jerry Hughes and Micah Hyde. Should we have expected the defense to show up better?

Not a lot of talent on defense. It’s fake talent. There are no 1v1 players on defense. No one beats their guy.

I’m seeing that. McDermott has lost to Mahomes and Burrow. Probably the only 2 QBs we can say are better than our guy. That’s not when you fire everyone. We have to figure out how to beat them. Failure and injury on the DL is the issue right now. They need better pass rush. Can’t rely on Von Miller.

We seem to play soft schematically in the playoffs or vs anyone that threatens the defense. That is definitely coaching philosophy. I don’t think Frazier should get all the blame. Most of it has to fall on McDermott. I do think we need to see changes on defense because this system isn’t good enough. We can’t trust Von Miller to be healthy and save them. I haven’t seen anything in our young pass rushers to believe they can become difference makers. Rousseau with Von Miller was different. Once teams focused on him he was nothing: They might need to invest in pass rush help again this offseason if they stick with the scheme.

They don’t matchup well vs Cincinnati without Von Miller. Soft coverage and zero pass rush vs those WRs it was easy to see the mismatch. They’ve missed on DL draft picks and it cost them.

Why does everyone have to get fired when you lose in the playoffs?

I do believe it might be time for a switch up on defense. The offense will be fine, needs some young high draft picks on OL and WR. This defense isn’t going to beat these top QBs unless Allen is on fire.
