  1. Boy, the sure turn on ya fast around these parts!
  2. You can't catch me! Besides, you guys should be happy....the Flyers are down 0-2! Banning me may reverse the karma and be good luck for them
  3. lol, I never fall of the bandwagon! There was one reason and one reason only why you guys won the game today....Niemi. There is no way that guy is going to be able to keep holding up against the barrage of shots that we're taking....he's going to cave in soon....very soon! I really hoped to win one of those two games, but that's okay...welcome to South Philly on Wednesday, baby...we'll get things done in our house and then take the next game in Chi-town.
  4. Wow, that's really cool about Niemi...he's come a long way, and he's about to become a runner-up in the Stanley Cup Finals...very impressive! You know, I honestly thought that of all the mainstream sports, hockey would EASILY benefit the most from the prevalence of HD television. I remember posting on here back in like 2006 (somewhere around there) about how STUNNING the HDNet broadcast of the NHL was. Now, granted, NBC doesn't use the same filming techniques that the HDNet people used, and I think that's a real shame because it brought the game to a more visceral level for the fan....but it's so much easier to follow the game with the better definition and the wider screen. Now a guy like me probably IS a member of their target market. I'm a marginal hockey fan who is passionate about one team, I'm a huge sports fan, and I'm in the 18-46 y.o. demographic that they target. If they brought me back into the game like HDNet did, so that I was right there ON THE ICE with these guys, that would go a long way toward compelling me to watch more hockey. But these broadcasts I see on NBC and Versus or whatever have you out in the crowd and you're watching from a distance. It's a real shame, cause I firmly believe that HDNet was on to something.
  5. bastard!!!
  6. Same here, man. I've always been a sucker for exotic looking women. The whole Greek/Mediterranean look....the Asian Indian look (that chick from Slumdog Millionaire....holy wow!)....etc. His wife is very pretty...what a friggin D-bag to do that to her.
  7. Thank you, my brothas!
  8. I'm actually a Boucher fan....I was in Philly when he came up through the Phantoms and then onto the Flyers. But in this case they'd be stupid to not go back to Leighton. The guy is one of the main reasons why they are where they are and he deserves the start. A couple of those goals weren't Leighton's fault at all...we made a couple boneheaded turnovers, particularly the one where we gave up a short handed goal...that's inexcusable in the finals of the Stanley Cup. I didn't know a thing about Niemi before tonight's game, but that guy had some clutch saves in the 3rd. Briere launched a ROCKET about half way through the period, and Niemi's vision was partially blocked by another Flyer. The guy's response time was stunning and he made a clutch glove save....that baby was headed for net, too.
  9. If you would have told me that we were gonna put 5 pucks in the net, I'd have guaranteed victory. I'm surprised you guys put up a six spot, but that won't happen again. We gave up a bunch of goals to Les Canadiens in one of the games, too....no worries. I think Monday will be a lower scoring affair, with the Flyers coming away with the win 3-2
  10. lol, those hawks are damn good....but we almost stole one! All we gotta do is take one of your home games from you and then get the job done on our home ice and Chi-town is DONE!!!!
  11. Well, I've had to listen to that fukkin song twice so far, but we're still winning!!!! My boys came to play, but so did the 'hawks... go FLYERS!!!!!
  12. Just watched the highlights...that through ball from the Turkish midfielder on their goal was beautiful! And looks like PrimaDonovan had a nice game...he should have probably just taken the shot on the Altidore goal, but the pass to Dempsey was nice on the 2nd. Two more weeks!!!!
  13. Thanks Lana, thanks everyone!! And Beerball, ur not late bro...it's today You guys rock
  14. Congrats Chef and Ms Chef!
  15. I figured I better find it and post it here since we won't be hearing much of it over the next week or two
  16. Wow, that's impressive as hell...I read an article about him recently where he said that he considers the Champs Leauge to be bigger than the WC in terms of the sport, so I don't know if he'd be all that interested in a national team. Could you imagine how interesting it would be to have that guy at the helm of the US team, though? We could give him an MLS team to fart around with so that he could add another league to his conquered list lol
  17. I wish that the powers-that-be had the balls to go after a guy like that....
  18. Yeah, I was a bit preoccupied during that season lol
  19. I agree, man...aside from a few of the episodes from the first half of this past season, I've always felt the show was pretty consistent. I didn't really see this finale as a TRUE finale since we already know that they have plans for at least one feature film. Watching the first few seasons on DVD was the BOMB, and that will always be some of the best "tv" I've ever seen. It really made a case for holding off on watching a tv show until it was available on dvd/bd, cause that was a really fun way to watch. I totally agree that it felt more like watching a long ass movie than it did a tv show. I'm sad it's over too, but I'm looking forward to seeing Jack Bauer show up on the big screen
  20. When they got obliterated by the Red Wings in the finals a while back, I think it helped Clarke finally understand that he needed more speed and players with SKILLS instead of huge bruisers who could overpower their opponents. Even back when I was living in Philly, Clarke was loved for being willing to make moves to improve the team, but criticized for not understanding the current state of the game. Aside from that, Lindros was always overrated, IMO, and Clarke was in love with the guy. A lot of people felt it held the franchise back, cause Lindros very rarely would show up when it mattered. LeClair was always the MVP of those teams from the late 90s....anyway, I digress. I can't wait til Saturday!!!
  21. If Klinsmann were here, this team would look entirely different. That is all.
  22. Bonehead Bocanegra....back for more! In other news..."The U.S. will play their final home match before departing for South Africa when they face Turkey on May 29 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia (tickets), where more than 45,000 tickets have already been sold." Say what you want about soccer in the US, but not only is the MLS expanding at a healthy rate, but every time I see one of these USA v. Team X, or some international friendly, they are selling tickets like hot cakes. Granted, there wasn't any question that the greatest sports city in the entire world would come out to watch the 2nd greatest sport on earth, but still....it's awesome to see
