  1. I remember how I felt during the scene, and given the way it went down I felt that basically Hank was allowing himself to try on the thought for size, if that makes any sense, and then quickly discarded the idea. I would expect someone in law enforcement to always consider every angle, and that's sort of what I think he did there. Do I think there is any lingering suspicion on the part of Hank? Nope, I really don't. But I think it was brilliant the way they portrayed the moment that Hank allowed it to enter his brain That being said, I think it was also interesting how when Hank was asked about the rocks, Walt sort of jumped in and went all out with the knowledge droppin'. The way Hank reacted to that was interesting, because he had just made a comment about how involved the hobby was, and then you have Walt basically spewing out a level of detail that Hank couldn't even begin to understand. The dynamic at play here between these two is really, really interesting. You guys were singing Aaron Paul's praises long before I was...I think I've finally gotten to the same point, though...he's been given a lot to handle with regard to his character, and he's doing an unbelievable job this season. I really like the way he uses apathy as a defense mechanism.
  2. I voted for Andre, A.Williams, and R.Guy. (Definitely agree with what others have said about Williams...the guy was money.) Screw Chris Carter...guy is a major tool. Actually I don't really have any opinion on the guy either way, I just want to see our boy Andre get the call.
  3. The "you got me" line was great...and I love how Hank for just a SECOND contemplated a "what if?", and then you could tell he immediately let the thought move on from his brain...just brilliant stuff! I'm sure it's a combination of both directing and acting, but the fact that subtle gestures and expressions can convey so much meaning is a real tribute to this show. I know a lot of us blow tons of sunshine up this show's arse already, but I think it's truly deserving. I have this uneasy feeling, almost a sort of anxiety, for the entire hour it's on each week. It's to the point where I'm so caught up in the characters that I'm almost relieved when everything seems to be okay LOL...it's really fugged up, but I love it.
  4. Definitely...that whole five mins or so was just excellent acting. I also loved the way Walt walked toward the camera in the lab, looked up with an intense expression and grumbled, "where is he!"
  5. lol, me too...I thought that was actually a pretty neat sequence. So far pretty much unanimous support for Apes, and also the 2D version...sounds like I have a plan! Thanks for the feedback, guys. Mark: I am lucky to have some really nice theaters nearby, and hopefully Apes will be showing in the "big house", so it should be a nice experience. I'm really looking forward to seeing this one.
  6. I'm leaning toward 2D...I don't mind paying the extra money if the 3D experience is really something special, but I don't often feel that way at all. Looks like the critics are on board with Apes, and it was just certified fresh by rotten tomatoes...looking forward to this one
  7. Do you guys recommend seeing Apes in 3D?
  8. lol, I know, wtf was up with the pill thing?? Everyone goes apeshiit, Dr Carter gets locked up at gun point, and then ten mins later everything is fine?? I feel like they just took five or ten of their "filler" story lines, jammed them into the first 90 min of the finale, and then spent the last 30 min actually getting back to the story
  9. My favorite scene last night was the exchange between Walt and Hank when they were reviewing the case file...Walt was trapped in his duality for those few minutes, and that was some of the best acting I've seen in any season of this show. It's scenes like that that make me appreciate the craftsmanship and overall quality of shows like this...just superb.
  10. I found myself not looking forward to it after a few episodes, too. Only reason I kept watching was because I'm a sucker for alien sci-fi. Last week they had what I thought was a really cool concept with regard to what they found inside the skidders, but they didn't develop it at ALL in the finale...wtf?? For 3/4 of the show all it was was arguing about stuff, and then every so often you'd have the, "...please don't go...it's dangerous." "...yes, I know it's dangerous...but I have to do what I have to do..." exchange...it was maddening!! lol I do agree with Mr Info about the new aliens...and I was majorly creeped out in a previous episode where that thing was looking through the peep hole in the door. But they totally dropped the ball last night...big, big downer.
  11. I was really looking forward to tonight's season finale...but that was some of the most boring two hours of television I've seen in a while. I couldn't believe how stupid it was. I felt like it was two hours of arguing about dumb crap. Until the last twenty minutes or so, they didn't show a single skidder or mech, and nobody had fired a single shot! The previews from the week before seemed to indicate the finale would be intense, non-stop action...it was the total opposite. This series has really let me down...it's not even in the same ballpark as The Walking Dead. I'm sure I'll give it a chance next year when it continues, because there were some entertaining episodes here and there, but tonight was a joke.
  12. Yes, he was...I appreciate you acknowledging his plight. Sometimes America just gets it wrong...I just hope it's not too late.
  13. Hot DAMN!!!! FOOTBALL IS BACK, BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Any of you guys familiar with IKEA furniture? I was looking through their sofas and the Kivik line looks really nice... http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/S79875239#/S99895024/
  15. Two words...DaNorris Searcy
  16. Thanks man, I just bookmarked it and will check it out. I love shopping online, actually...that's partially why I like sites like overstock.com and amazon. I've learned that when there are more than about 20 reviews for a given product, the reviews/ratings are pretty reliable. I just can't seem to find many sites where they have reviews on furniture. The link I posted to the first sofa (the one that says "contemporary and German) is from a company that apparently has a no-hassle, 100% satisfaction policy where, if you don't like the piece, they come and pick it up and refund your money in total. That would definitely go a long way toward being more comfortable buying a larger ticket item online. I also need to go hit some local stores, though, cause there are a few with solid reps near where I live. lol, I"d actually probably get a lot of detailed responses...RNs are pretty well-known for speakign their minds on just about any topic...takes a lot to make us uncomfortable.
  17. Me too and I'm still disgusted by it. The way our fellow Bills fans treated Jimbo in '96 was a disgrace. I can still hear the booing coming through the tv set when it happened. One of the few times that really made me embarrassed to be a Bills fan.
  18. Hell yeah I do!! Thats kinda why I was thinking one of these reclining sofas might be the answer. Those big chairs you see in the photos of my place are ridiculously comfortable, so I would definitely like something I can doze off in and/or stretch out on. I definitely don't want just a plain couch...I think it needs to have either the recline option, an ottoman, or a chaise attached to it. Absolutely Yep, that's something that makes this harder for me. When it comes to audio/video gear, cars, etc., I can easily do my research and come up with a great decision on what to buy. I'm finding this is nearly impossible when it comes to furniture. I definitely want something with an excellent buuild quality, cause I tend to keep my stuff for 8-10 years at least. But I just don't know that much about choosing quality pieces when it comes to home furnishings.
  19. So after having supported my dad for the last year, he's finally back on his feet with a good job and moving into his own place. After trying to figure out what to do with regard to my living situation, I've decided to renew the lease on the apartment we had been sharing even though it's more space that I really need. Anyhow, I need a new couch that will be the centerpiece of my home theater/living room. I am a big guy, so I need something nice a comfy and with deep seating for my huge arse. I'm THINKING that I'm leaning toward a nice leather sofa, maybe even a sectional, where there is some reclining action going on. I was curious if any of you guys had some sofas you were really happy with, and/or any advice as I go about my search. I'm posting a couple of pieces that have caught my attention so far below... Contemporary and German Italian leather set Heard this one was comfy Here are a couple images of the room... http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/192/aptmaggies3.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/594/aptmaggies2.jpg/ http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/839/aptmaggies1.jpg/
  20. There is no controversy at all...Fitzy is the starter. Period.
  21. When I lived in Philly ('96-99) I was absolutely addicted to this station. I had it on in the car, on the train to school, and on the radio at night when I was working corporate security. I have a half decent sports station here in ATL (surprisingly...), but WIP was really great.
  22. Hondo, one of your points is dead on correct, and it's something I feel very strongly about, as well. There are a LOT of young players on this team who will have the opportunity to grow into better, more productive players this season. I think there will be a couple of folks who will be the next Stevie Johnson, and I'm excited about that. That's partly why I wasn't really expecting a lot of big FA signings...we're committed to growing through the draft, and we need to allow these youngsters to grow up. They have a solid coaching staff to learn from - a coaching staff that I now believe is far better than I initially gave it credit for - and with more playing time and film study I think we'll have some real contributors. I'm particularly excited about this years draft...I really think we may end up with 3 or 4 solid starters out of that group. Maybe they won't all be up and running this season, but within their first few years I would not be surprised at all to see guys like DaNorris Searcy, Hairston, and the LB from LSU turn into solid starters.
  23. Looks like there are a few good looking offerings this month...and I'm in the camp that never saw the Burton remake of Planet of the Apes, but really looking forward to this current version. I saw the first two Final Destination films and thought they were a fun ride, but had no idea they were on the fifth one lol. I like that you have a nice sampling of some of the better younger actors in hollywood these days....Jesse Eisenberg, Anton Yelchin, Bryce Dallas Howard, etc. And we also have a woman who I consider MAYBE the most beautiful woman on earth...the lovely and talented Freida Pinto
  24. WIP 610 = best sports talk radio ever
