  1. I was trying to figure out why it seemed like I never had any common ground with Selmon there, but then I heard someone mention his age...so now I'm GLAD we have nothing in common lol
  2. Congrats to one of the best posters from the class of '08!
  3. I've heard that some people use the Angie's List site to find reliable service people...there is a subscription fee involved, but I don't think it's much.
  4. I'm as sensitive to 9/11 as anyone outside of those who were actually there, and even I would have no problem calling this guy a fugtard to his face.
  5. I voted Packers because they are an even smaller market than we are, and I think small market success is good for the NFL and the Bills. My second choice would be the Ravens. I really don't know why, I just always enjoy watching them play, and I am a Ray Lewis fan. I think the guy is a throwback, and he's exactly the sort of player I'd love to have on the Bills. I've never cared much for the Raiders, but Rico makes a good point...I wouldn't mind seeing them win one for Al. He may have been a crotchety douche in his later years, but let's face it, the guy is a legend.
  6. That's exactly the point that people forget. Our talent level is average-to-below-average. With free agency, we'll never have the same type of teams that we had in the SB years, so we have to allow smart game planning to give us the advantage. Most people I know, even those who are fans of the game, have NO IDEA who our skill people are. But they have proven effective when put in position to make plays, and we need to be able to rely on Chan to keep making adjustments and innovations.
  7. Considering we once again had no pass rush, it was great to see our young guys in the secondary making plays. Williams, Rogers, and Searcy all played well, save for a few miscues with regard to their assignments. That will come with experience, though. I don't see Rogers as a starter, but he's solid depth and will be great in nickel/dime packages. Williams and Searcy I think will both eventually start, and once Searcy gets more comfortable I think he'll start laying a bit of lumber. If we can just find a couple more impact players for the front 7 on D, this defense will be much better.
  8. I honestly thought this kid was going to end up being an impact player for us this season. As bummed as I am that we've lost guys like E.Wood, K.Williams, and others, Easley was the most disappointing loss for me. I wish the kid well.
  9. This is what I felt was happening earlier in the season. Even when we'd go down but a touchdown or three, Gailey would make adjustments and we'd start getting it in gear. Yesterday we saw evidence of game planning once again, whereas the last few games we have seemingly had no clue what we were doing. Even with the mediocre talent, if Gailey would just keep mixing it up like he did yesterday, we can play in this league.
  10. That's how I was starting to feel, too. The first two or three episodes this season had me pretty engaged with the show, but then I started losing a little interest. I hope they get the heck off this farm and get back to survival mode out amongst the walkers. Was much more fun that way. All this interpersonal stuff is getting boring. I did think last night was strong, though, particularly the last ten mins...so looking forward to February
  11. 18 farkin pages???
  12. If you're anywhere near North Georgia, I've got the perfect guy for you.
  13. interesting, I hadn't thought of that. They did give the impression that they were plenty aware of who was in the barn and who wasn't, so you may be on to something there. All I know is that of all the zombie put downs, that was the hardest emotionally. Thinking of all that was done in order to find that little girl, and the way Rick felt responsible and even obligated to continue searching, it was tough to see that last shot go down
  14. +1 Great, great race by the seniors...in the words of Ice from Top Gun, you guys could be my wingman anytime And that's great the snowboards won a couple of great rides...I hope they win it all!
  15. Yep, Chris Pine is a solid actor.
  16. That episode redeemed the last few for me. I thought it was pretty strong with a nice intensity and a powerful final scene. I love the way they've developed Rick and Shane, and the fallout from this will be very interesting. Good show...looking forward to February (which is much better than having to wait until Oct again!)
  17. "He who humbles himself shall be exalted; and he who EXALTS himself shall be HUMBLED..." -Matthew 23:12
  18. I enjoy the sci-fi genre, it just seems like it's not often that something holds my interest. I was really psyched for Falling Skies, and it started off promising, but by the end of the season I was barely even paying attention to it. I have DirecTV, but will see if I can track down some past episodes.
  19. I like the sound of it...thanks for the head's up!
  20. Wow, that's an amazing list of shows/performers...SRV is another artist where I was late to the party, unfortunately. Although he didn't really stick around long enough for me to discover him
  21. Awesome post, man...as soon as my Freddy bluray shows up, I'll be right there with you! Great avatar, btw Wow, I'm envious of you guys who were able to attend a live show...must have been a great time! I've seen enough of your music posts over the years to know that if you say it's a top 5 show, that's quite a compliment...same with the Pooj
  22. Damn right, Millbank...no shame at all in admitting that! JD is a great example of an artist I probably never appreciated enough until I looked back on all that he did, and I can say I'm right there with you in enjoying his music.
  23. If you ever need any suggestions, just let me know man...or start a thread on here, cause I know there is a small group of HT enthusiasts on TBD. You can pretty much do it for nearly any budget these days I'm a HUGE believer that audio is responsible for significant part of the movie watching experience, depending on the type of movie, of course. With Cloverfield, the audio is absolutely AMAZING, and it kicks up the level of intensity quite a bit. I think TGreg said previously that he knew someone who was involved with the audio portion of that film (or it may have even been him? not sure....) and that they were really proud of the results. I can understand why, as I really appreciated the audio effects for that film. It sounds like you had an appreciation for it even on a computer screen, so I can ASSURE you you'd be loving it even more with the audio component. But yeah, I still remember exactly how it felt when I watched it on my HT rig, and it remains a very memorable experience.
  24. Channel? Story line?
  25. I know what you mean...it's like you sort of take his vocal talent for granted, because some of these songs are so familiar and the band is so well known. But when you step back and really pay attention, you can see the guy had a vocal ability that was off the charts. It's just so effortless watching him perform live...I really can't wait to see more of this.
