Mine wasn't necessarily a career change, but I went back to a former career. For 6 years, I was an Incident Manager at Yahoo. Well someone got the bright idea to replace the entire incident management department with AI. I was laid off in August 2024. I had spent 6 months applying, in interviews, with nothing happening. My wife owns a literacy center for children and adults who fit the Dyslexia profile. Her office manger and services coordinator got together, and went to my wife claiming each of their jobs should be full time, and with a very high hourly rate. When my wife said she didn't agree with them, they both gave their resignations on the same day, with her office manager only giving a 4 day notice. So my wife walks in my home office and says "Do you want a job?" I was an office manager for a food distribution company and a couple of construction companies when I lived in California. I said sure. She combined both roles into one. We get along fabulously as her as my boss. The company has tripled its revenue from this time last year. We have over 25 families on a waiting list, where before my wife's longest waiting list was 10 families. I'm quite happy doing what I'm doing. The only downside is when I want to take a day off, there's no PTO so I have to make up the hours, which my wife is totally fine with me doing.

Royalties. Sad. Sting is being sued by his former Police bandmates over royalties from "Every Breath You Take." Sting was issued with a High Court writ by guitarist Andy Summers and drummer Stewart Copeland. They are seeking "substantial" damages. According to The Sun, a source said, "This has been coming for quite some time. Lawyers tried repeatedly to reach an out-of-court settlement but hit a stalemate. Andy and Stewart decided there was no alternative than court so pressed the button. They say they are owed millions in lost royalties." Sting appears as a defendant under his real name, Gordon Matthew Sumner. His firm, Magnetic Publishing Limited, is also listed as a defendant. The Police formed in 1977 and split in the mid-1980s, having sold 75 million records worldwide. Was thinking that there's a design in KeyBank Center where if a player has a serious injury on the ice, a doctor can remove seats and get right down to the player benches.

Doctors or the like that can have quick field access if they are in the stands?

Tyler Bass was at a Ten Lives Club event today. Looks pretty healthy to me. He's standing next to Ryan Van Demark. Tyler's wife Ryan is opposite, and the others are volunteers at Ten Lives Club.

My daughter talked my wife and I to see Blink 182 and Alkaline Trio at Darien Lake on September 11th. She is literally flying into Buffalo from California Wednesday evening, show Thursday night, leaving Friday afternoon.
