  1. Is something wrong with Sorgi? No, I'd play him until the 4th at least. Holy crap 28-3.....this game is a bore.
  2. I agree with the Delgado agruement. I still don't understand why you "need" a first baseman. Am I completely missing something about Piazza playing first? I know his D is suspect and his O has been lacking. But the guy really hasn't had much O support, now that he's got support in both Beltran and Wright I think you'll see a much better player.
  3. If the Mets land Beltran watch out. They are potentially looking at a lineup of... Reyes Matsui Beltran Piazza Wright Floyd Cameron Phillips/Valent That's potential. Plus with Pedro/Glavine/Trachsel/V. Zambrano/Benson That's a NICE TEAM.
  4. Except it's more than likely that the BoSox want to keep this ball forever.
  5. 1990 the Colts were 7-9, the Jets were 6-10 the Pats were 1-15. 1991 the Phins and Jets were 8-8 the Pats were 6-10 the Colts were 1-15. 1992 Colts 9-7 Jets 4-12 Pats 2-14. 1993 Jets 8-8 Pats 5-11 Colts 4-12. The only decent team in the division during those years was the Phins.
  6. Yes, this is the key. And remember how much Drew use to go to Larry Centers in 02? Then we don't have the short option at all last year and he sucked. Josh was suppose to be the middle in type of guy. But, couldn't get the job done. Willis can catch out of the backfield whereas Travis couldn't or didn't last year. Drew needs a short option.
  7. Moulds dropping two balls that were perfectly placed against the Steelers didn't exactly profit Drew in his QB rating.
  8. But, Mark Campbell, Lee Evans, Bobby Shaw, Josh Reed and Eric Moulds take no part in this. Neither does the offensive line of the Bills that was like a sieve the first half of the season. Drew deserves blame. But only so much.
  9. In the NFC (2004) we are in the championship game. No doubt. I compare the AFC during our run to what the NFC is now. We benefited from some weak competition. Look at the teams there were in the early 90's coming out of the NFC. Freaking powerhouses in Dallas, NYG, Philly, Washington, San Fransico.
  10. Ho Hum....is everything in life about financial gain? Seriously, is there any dignity in sports anymore or is it just tied to the financial gain. I think I know the answer to this one. Here's a guy who makes 3 million dollars a year to be an average to poor first baseman. Then he gets lucky and catches a ball that has some history tied to it and now needs more money? How much more? What is enough? To me it's not about the money it's about the total lack of respect for yourself and the fans that are paying your salary. In other news, Corey Koskie wrote a written letter of thank you and praise to the good people of Minnesota thanking them for the support and dedication to the team while he was there. That is class.
  11. During our SB run our division wasn't that great. So we benefited then too.
  12. so support the downward spiral....
  13. Don' believe a single opinion out of ESPN when it comes to the Yankees.
  14. Exactly. What if Sam Aiken grabbed the final snapped ball from Drew after we won the SB. Then ol' man Ralph asked Sam for it and Sam basically sad you would have to pay me to get the ball. My response would be that this ass needs to give it up. It's a memorandum of the franchise. Of a team effort. Not of a selfish individual who just wants to profit.
  15. Toronto and Pittsburgh both run around this for baseline seats. He must be really close to backstop for that price.
  16. And most fans don't make 3 million dollars per year, nor do they work for/with MLB. He's just giving the sport and the Sox a black eye. And as far as fans, remember the guy who caught Griffey's 400th HR ball? Yeah, that guy gave it to him with no need for compensation. Griffey then gave hit auto'd balls, bats and a trip to the All-Star game. Amazing how giving sometimes results in more than expected.
  17. And then we wonder why it costs $35.00 to go see a professional baseball game....
  18. other than class and character.
  19. I assume what every one remembers happened 5 years ago tomorrow right? Right?
  20. Young guy mistake. It happens.
  21. But, Drew wasn't any part of this. In fact, if Shane Matthews had started Evans would have broken most of the rookie records this year.
  22. "I know this ball has a lot of sentimental value," Mientkiewicz said. "I hope I don't have to use it for the money. It would be cool if we have kids someday to have it stay in our family for a long time. But I can be bought. I'm thinking, there's four years at Florida State for one of my kids. At least." ---------------------- But Red Sox players are different than Yankees players.
  23. Then why use the example of Priest Holmes, who Vermeil said was a character guy? Or look at Shaun Alexander who has been said to be very close to god. I think the point of the article is that it's feed in to these kids heads that they need to work to get the signing bonuses and then after they get the signing bonuses they are home free.
