  1. The oppressed are allowed once every few years to decide which particular representatives of the oppressing class are to represent and repress them. ---- Everyday I think this statement grows more and more true.
  2. When you whoop his ass after the season let him know who the dumbass is.
  3. I agree with Sloth. No matter what people are stealing it's not like it won't serve a purpose. Most of these folks haven't showered in days. So what if the steal some clothes. I can't think of one thing I wouldn't steal right now. Including a gun if I had my family with me. Of course, I wouldn't still be there but you got to look at it as if these people go to Houston what are they suppose to do? They know they are pretty much screwed going there. How long are you suppose to live in the dome?
  4. I heard the casinos that were destroyed on the Mississippi coast were pumping inward of 500K per DAY to the state government. Now, all destroyed.
  5. "the economy can absorb this" I'm sure that is what's joe average is concerned about right now who lives in his mid level house (destroyed) with his mid level car (destroyed) with his mid level job (building destroyed) unknowning of where his next paycheck will be coming from (welfare maybe?) and how he's going to pay the bills (pimp out the children?) and where he's going to take his children for school (are the school as good in whereever I am as they were at home) and how long will my aunt, sister, mother, grandma, friends neighbors sister in law let me live here? This in my mind may not have the same economic impact as 911 but on "families" the impact of this is much larger. 1 million people have been directly effected by this. No mention of the families that are assisting with housing, food, shelter, clothing, transportation.
  6. Yep, I stopped by the dealership today and I'm eyeing up a used Pontiac Vibe. It's a six speed and was like driving a little MiniCooper but for a heck of a lot less. Gets 40 MPG. I think I'm gonna trade in the Dakota and get it....for 2.79 a gallon it's worth it, the car will be cheaper insurancewise and with heating costs going up and the long range folks predicting a cold winter I think it's the most practical decision. Sure, it's not as "manly" as an SUV but I've got my toy car when I need to have some fun.
  7. But, if these people aren't removed and the waste level of the city is high, the contamination effect could go way beyond the losses that have already occured. I'm talking epidemic level.
  8. Just awful....watching the news I just can't imagine the families that don't have anywhere else to go and are staying around the city can be in safe conditions. They were talking about the toxicity levels. At some point, the government is going to have to step in and force people to leave or be quarantined because it's only going to becoming a feeding ground for disease over the next few days.
  9. I think the braintrust at ESPN (Quite Frankly feel free to chuckle) thought this would be a good time b/c August is known to be a slow sports month. I think it sucks and I happened to catch yesterdays on Conneticut. If they could have just came out and said it's the best thing since the wild card in MLB they would have.
  10. The Texans can beat the Bills. Spread will be 3.5. Yes I fear them. Especially with their secondary and our youth behind center.
  11. That's a chick drink. Do you drive a Jeep Liberty? My favorite team name is the Balogna Hamlets.
  12. Madden should have been in years ago. The guy was one hell of a coach. The Raiders were defined during his era.
  13. Milton Bradley has been a cancer since day one. I really don't know what the Dodgers were thinking combining Kent who's been know in many clubhouse disputes, Bradley who's a hot head and JD Drew who is so freaking distant. Where's the leadership? The number one reason I don't like Milton is because he feels the need to brush his shoulders off every time he hits a HR. If you want to be represented as a respectable man don't do the crap you've done the entire career. That being get in to a verbal confrontation on TV with your manager, go ballistic on the crowd, refer to yourself in the third person, dust your shoulders off after you hit a HR, throw a bag of balls on the infield. In my book Milton Bradley has as much credibility as Albert Belle.
  14. Hilarious. Check out the one on Olerud's posse linked off the front page, too.
  15. Yep, and I attribute the resurgance in baseball to 1. 1998 HR race 2. BoSox/Yanks rivalry 3. The wild card being added. Without the wild card there would be less interest this time of year in many cities. The one thing I'd like to see changed is making the first round a best of seven not five, you play 162 games to get to that point why make a short series in a game that is defined by consistency? My interest in the Sabres is 0. I've never been a hockey fan, but I know a few folks who live and die by it. Same with golf. Whatever floats your boat is fine by me. I primarly follow the sports I played growing up, those being baseball and football.
  16. No, no, let's hail JP Losman as the new god with his mid 70's passer rating because he can run. Funny, when Vick does the same thing everyone says he's overrated. Don't let the laundry blur your vision too much folks.
  17. I get the mag too. It use to be great. The articles would get you through 2 weeks of useage on the throne. Now, your lucky to get a week out of it. The problem is they have gone away from mainstream sports and every edition there is some article about a guy who rides BMX and they do an analysis on his tatoos or the female surfer or the japanese pro bass fisherman or bam majera. Who TF cares? But, it is ESPN I guess and they are suppose to cover all things sports.
  18. I thought the movie was very entertaining. But, then again I liked You Got Served too. I probably wouldn't have bothered with the movie if the setting was in France.
  19. I was at Darien Lake on Saturday, left around 9:15, and it was pouring. The right hand lane was stop and go for about five miles. I don't get off there I just thought it was a slow down so stayed in the lane. Got up to the exit and then it was pretty much smooth sailing to the 390 exit. I didn't get back to home until quarter after 11 and it usually take me right about an hour and 10 minutes home. I forgot the game was going on, I was wondering why traffic was so heavy.....
  20. Huh, I wonder why they didn't just light some candles. It worked in the Day after Tomorrow.
  21. Absolutely! Then he'll know the value of a man in little red shorts, a little red hat and no shirt on. Man, that's just awesome.
