The OP has had it out for Oliver for years, it's become a crusade because his opinion won't change even after an All Pro-level season. Facts don't matter. Turning to the actual topic - they definitely need a talent infusion but it was an either/or situation this year. Better coaching and better discipline and they still could've gotten past KC and perhaps Baltimore. Both Josh and Sean showed immaturity/fantasy-based decision-making at key junctures in the Divisional Round: 1) The fake punt - had no issue with the call itself, but I am like 85% sure that McD had visions of the articles that would be written about him if he successfully called Hamlin's number on a critical game-changing play. 2) The post-two minute warning offense - Allen had the game in hand by playing within structure and taking what the defense was offering, then came back from the two minute warning determined to win the game by himself. No doubt he had visions of a walk-off TD pass. Instead, it was season over. Both Allen and McD need to grow from that last game. And they need more talent, there's no question about it. It's both.

No. Increasing the explosives is how they can get the one seed.

The singular pursuit of excellence.

It’s not just McD. I keep looking for ANY sign of accountability in either of Pegula’s sports franchises and I haven’t seen a single one since Kim’s unfortunate health issue. Seems like the Bills and Sabres are both flying on autopilot.

Greg Cosell - “I don’t think they have a number 1 WR”
Coach Tuesday replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Bills don’t have a #1 front office. -
McBeane have a weird tendency to make decisions based on what appears to be a best-case scenario way of thinking. My concern is that Brady would be another of their “hope for the best” maneuvers, most of which have not panned out. I am not against it but I would want them to hedge by adding some experienced voices to the mix, even beyond what they’ve already got in Boras and Kromer.

The Bills head into every playoff game at a coaching disadvantage. Not to say they can’t overcome it with talent, but so far they haven’t. There is no salary cap on coaches. I would 100% be in favor of this if there were sufficient checks on the scouting side (he sucks at it).

McDermott - Excuses, Valid but concerning

But this one is in an Italian accent! -
The world needed this.

And I’m including the pro personnel side as well. Sherfield, Harty, Isabella this year. Before that you’ve got Sanders’ corpse, Brown’s corpse, Beasley’s corpse, Crowder. I mean wtf are these evaluators looking at?

What realistic coaching changes do you expect?

You’ve got units where players clearly improved and developed and became better versions of themselves: linebackers on defense, running backs and tight ends and maybe the o-line on offense. Then you’ve got units where players obviously stagnated or got worse: d-line (except Oliver) on defense, wide receivers on offense. Then there are units with mixed results - secondary (no young safeties have developed, Elam has not developed), possibly QB. Lastly you’ve got units where, across the board, nearly everything and everyone underperformed: special teams. I would move on from Smiley, Washington and Henry, but McD might want to keep them around as weight to toss overboard if things start to go south next season. -
Honestly I’m not sure I trust this staff to scout wide receivers.

Divisional Playoffs - Chiefs at Bills - Post game thread

The crazy thing is that last year’s playoffs and this year’s playoffs were almost the same: have a tougher time at home than they should’ve against a third-string QB, then the D gets totally steamrolled the following week, again at home. Someone’s “process” might be flawed… -

Especially the morons talking about trading Allen and saying he’s not a leader - I mean when you see that stuff it really makes you question human intelligence and awareness. -
I don't think they were going for it until they realized KC had 10 men on the field. I could be wrong, but that's what I understood.
