  1. I agree. I want them to do both. Tyrod just needs a fresh start, they can't sell another year of him to the fanbase I'm afraid.
  2. I think he means Alex Smith is the most likely guy but it's not clear. In any event, I'm going to keep banging the table for Teddy Bridgewater. He's basically Alex Smith - less mobile, but a bit more of a gunslinger. Super accurate and doesn't turn the ball over much. Will be affordable.
  3. No doubt - his leg almost got amputated! But it seems like it was a total fluke and that he's healthy now. His arm strength is average, no worse than Keenum's. His specialty is the short- to medium-range area of the field, like Alex Smith but he's more of a gunslinger. He doesn't have a cannon but he seems to have a great touch pass and a good feel for finding open spaces in the defense. He was just coming into his own when he went down, something like a 70% completion rate in his last healthy season.
  4. Disagree that he went back to what worked before he got here. Yes he mixed in some power running concepts from Roman's playbook - but his base offense never changed. If it had, he might still be here.
  5. Denver is definitely going after Cousins. They're reportedly asking Demarius Thomas to take a paycut - I hope he refuses and we have a chance at him. Personally I'd much rather go after Bridgewater - he'll be much cheaper than Cousins, he's coachable and his accuracy is way better than Cousins (to my untrained eye, at least - Cousins seems streaky to me).
  6. The thing I hated most about Marrone during his tenure in Buffalo was that it always seemed that he was out to prove a point. I was sure that he would've rather lost the game doing things his way than won the game doing things someone else's way. It drove me nuts. Perhaps he has softened a bit in Jacksonville and I imagine he may have been humbled by what happened to him after he opted out. There is no question that Jacksonville has drafted well (some of us - ahem - were pounding the table for Miles Jack) and their approach to free agency on defense has been impressive (Campbell and Cyprien have been nice adds). Curious to see what they do at the QB position this offseason, as there is no way Bortles comes back as the unqualified starter. Perhaps it's a landing spot for Tyrod.
  7. Agreed - as I said upthread, these guys are trying to build a PROGRAM, not just a roster. Daboll comes from the two best programs in NFL and NCAA history, respectively. Although I gotta disagree with you about Dennison, I do not think he managed the QB talent that he was given. He installed his own offense which did not suit Tyrod's skillset and then spent the entire season advocating for the 5th round backup (who sucks).
  8. Now it's a moving target. You said first-ballot hall of famer. Everyone believes he is a first-ballot hall of famer.
  9. They handed that "nobody" the biggest contract in franchise history.
  10. There is no one who believes that. Straw man argument.
  11. Should be automatic one week probation for starting a thread like this, increasing to multiple weeks for multiple offenses.
  12. Really? Ask Anthony Lynn about how his career was derailed because of being Tyrod's OC. You're a troll, go away.
  13. Dareus played well yesterday. I still don't understand why Beane felt the need to make that trade during the season. Would his value really have diminished below a 5th/6th round pick by March?
  14. 335 posts out of you and we've yet to see a single quality take about anything.
  15. Our own President can't speak English. We are letting kids graduate from COLLEGE (not even High School) who lack basic grammar skills. 40-60% of the THREAD TITLES (let alone the posts) on TSW are riddled with grammatical mistakes. I find it amazing that so many people think that gender-neutral bathrooms and safe spaces on college campuses are a bigger threat to our society than the widespread decline in basic reading, writing, and arithmetic.
  16. Whether or not he audibled, on the second one he had a guy wide open at the sticks and he chose to throw to the deeper read instead. That was on him.
  17. The same defender did the same thing in the Patriots game earlier this year. This is a Saints problem.
  18. The amazing thing is the Saints have been tackling like that for YEARS. It transcended be Rob Ryan era and continues to this day. It boggles my mind.
  19. LOL when you put it that way - maybe McDermott should be concerned!
  20. MUTE POINT ALERT!!!!!
  21. Every thread on the board should be merged into this one. Bill’s Thread.
  22. Horrible resume??
  23. Mangini coahed defense but I hear you.
