  1. Green Bay fans, thanks for all the insight. I appreciate it. It sounds like Sherman would be an excellent coach (I like conservative with tough D) and I'm excited he may be here. To answer a couple of questions...Jerry Grey would run a pretty good D for you guys if you had the right personnel. He runs schemes he learned from Gregg Williams and Dick LeBeau, so expect your D to look like Pitt or Wash. He has traditionally been very good at halftime adjustments, in 04 the Bills D didn't allow a 3rd quarter TD all season. We stumbled badly this year, however. BUT, and its a big but, if you don't have the right personel, you will get beat by the big play. Last year (04), our D constantly went for the big play, and usually made it. We came up with a bunch of turnovers and sacks. In 05, we REALLY missed Pat Williams (who should have been re-signed by our then-idiot GM Tom Donahoe) and the run D suffered. Consequently, we had to commit more people to run-stuff and were unable to be as agressive. Losing your best player to injury, Takeo Spikes, hurt as well. Bottom line is your D would probably imporve for a year or two, until the league got film on you and figured out how to beat the schemes. Of course, then you may be in rebuilding mode as Favre would retire and Grey may have moved on. It really would not be a bad move for you.
  2. The Vikings hired a bunch of women on Lake Minnetonka this year.
  3. Ummm...he really wasn't. Cowher was not happy with him and was expected to make changes, when we did him a favor and hired him as HC. Think Sam Adams won't be up for those games either? I think Sam's chip might be a little bigger than Mike's. How about the rest of the players? Show the coach who quit on you what he's missing? I like it. Please hire him Saban.
  4. Amen. I actually always liked the idea of hiring an experienced guy. Let him makes his 1st HC job mistakes on someone else's dime.
  5. Oh please, please hire him Saban!!! I can see it now, Bills down by four at Miami in the 4th quarter, Miami about to score the insurance TD against us....Ricky Williams takes the handoff, he's trying to throw, intercepted by McGee and its off to the races...boy what a stupid call!!!
  6. Post #10 in that thread, by Darin, could really be the funniest thing I have ever read on this board. Brilliant post.
  7. A good rule of thumb, if you have to think about it, you're probably not funny. An example of funny... http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=25951
  8. So far, both Jauron & Sherman have impressed me with their resumes and experience. I really don't feel like we could lose with either one.
  9. If you like the apt, go for it. Do it in your g/f's name. BTW - That is standard NYC-speak sales talk. He'll recommend whoever pays the fee and can get him his commission the quickest so that he can move on to the next commission.
  10. *cough*cough* http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=38886&hl=
  11. I miss the old division names...Adams, Patrick, Norris and Smythe, and the conferences, Campbell and Wales. I really wish they'd go back to those and admit their mistake. They were unique and interesting.
  12. Why not add Art Shell to the mix?
  13. Art Shell would be an excellent choice in Buffalo.
  14. You guys aren't giving Jauron enough credit. The guy really can coach and he'd be great for the Bills. I thought that last time as well.
  15. The only thing with Sherman is I hope we don't end up with the West Coast offense. I think the way to turn this thing around quickly is to model our team on the 1988 Bills...strong running game, special teams and defense. Jauron is more suited to that style of play. Of course, Sherman's resume speaks for itself, but I don't think the WCO would work in Buffalo.
  16. Actually, with so many teams going the inexperienced coordinator route, we will have our choice of guys with prior HC experience. Jauron, Sherman and Art Shell (who I think we will meet with), would be a great group to choose from.
  17. Didn't know about the 10th, but thats fine. I'd like to see us take OG? With the 10th pick in Round 2, we'd probably get the top rated or second best G prospect in the whole draft. Not bad. If we sign a LT and possibly a C, we'd be on our way.
  18. Take a deep breath. I really don't think it matters. In fact, I really don't think anyone will care. Most buildings in Queens/Brooklyn don't care. Show that you (or in this case your G/F) have a job and you're fine. Some buildings in Manhattan may care, but you're not looking there. You are simply a secondary source of income and your G/f is actually the one renting the apt. Also, by piss poor credit do you mean it stinks or you don't have much of a history? If its B, you may be fine even with your name.
  19. I find it interesting that in a supposed great year for OT talent, only 2 1st rounders. Does that mean that we may have a decent shot at a starting-quality OT with the 8th pick in Round 2?
  20. I still laugh every time I hear retatta.....this friggin abortion!!
  21. I think Jauron will be an excellent choice. He has prior HC experience and probably has learned from any mistakes he made. The players loved him and he was successful (remember the Bears were awful at personnel during those years). Also, a conservative, defense oriented coach will give this team its best chance to be successful quickly. I liked him last time over everyone except Weis.
  22. Why, cause fired his ass lover TD??? Fug you Clayton.
