  1. Since Jauron coached in Detroit last year and did not burn any bridges when he left, it is pretty likely he had some reliable inside info that Detroit would take the 2 DBs before Sims.

Or that the Rams would take Whitner since they did in fact take a DB with their 1st pick.

However, let's assume that Marv should have taken the risk. -so he makes the trade to #15 and Whitner, Ngata and Bunkley are all gone.

What do the Bills do at #15?

The Bills have moved into the twilight zone where the top 13 impact players are gone.

No one rated in this area can be counted on to provide immediate help.

    What's the plan????

It's not the job of writers like King to offer a plan...just criticism.

  2. Am I reading this correctly??

"The Broncos would have sent second- and fourth-round picks to move from No. 15 to No. 8."

Does this mean the Bills would get Denver's 1st, 2nd, and 4th? Or just the 2nd and 4th for Buffalo's 1st? If it's the latter, then Levy would had to be brain dead to take that deal.

  3. McCargo seems to be a reach, IMO. If reaching is wasting, then yes, it's a waste.

If McCargo becomes a player, who cares where he was drafted. People's memories are short. Value is a creation of the Kipers and Kiper-clones. It means absolutely nothing. That's right, nothing. Because players still have to play. Mike Williams was a "value" pick, and how did he work out? We got an A+ for that 2001 draft. What did that get us? Draft grades are like pissing your pants. It gives you a warm feeling for a little while.

  4. While we're at it, let's ban Fred Smerlas from visiting Buffalo too. He's spent the last three days on WEEI telling everyone that the Bills "are stupid" for not drafting Leinart, and that a loser city deserves a loser football team.

I swear I will bring a crowbar to RWS and personally pry his name of the Wall of Fame. He doesn't deserve to be honored by the Bills.

  5. That kid must be such a bigger punk ass thug then we can even imagine.  No interest from any teams even with all that talent.  Yeah it figures Miami takes a look at him

All that talent? Most of his "talent" is his last name. He started 8 games for VT, and people think he's redy for the NFL??? Can you spell H-Y-P-E?

  6. It will be Las Vegas.

Mayor Goodman is hard up on getting a professional franchise in Vegas.  It really doesn't matter to him if it's MLB, NBA, or NFL.  He just wants a team.

This article talks about the Chargers now possibly staying in San Diego County, due to the county amending their lease.  Who contacted them about the Chargers relocating in Vegas?  Good old Oscar Goodman.

Who's to say that Goodman also hasn't already contacted Ralph, and would be ready to scoop the Bills to Vegas when Ralph passes on?  It's a thought, and a valid idea.

I'll say it for the umpteenth time....

Build a stadium halfway between SD and LA. Call 'em the SoCal Chargers. LA gets it's team. SD still has access to the Chargers. Problems solved.

  7. I was just in Vegas and read the local paper. They had a story on this very topic. It seems LV has been trying to lure any major league franchise (except NHL) the last year.

The problem the article pointed out is that LV is not built to support major league sports. Here's why:

    1) Growing city? Yes, but mostly laborers and casino workers. Not the kind of folks who buy PSL's and luxury suites.

    2) This is interesting: LV is a 24 hour city. A three-shift town. Meaning at any given moment 1/3 of the population is working, and 1/3 is sleeping! Thus reducing the available pool of fans for games.

    3) That being the case, sports that play a lot of games (baseball, basketball, hockey) would have a tough draw. NFL football might work since there are only 10 games (2 pre, 8 reg) a year. Casinos would prbably comp high-rollers tix to games. But what of the playoffs? Then there is always the gambling issue.

Las Vegas is certainly a sexy city, but one not bult for major league sports.
