1. I know it's hard for some people to think beyond "win good...lose bad" but Drew deserved a lot of the harsh criticism. The Jets game shows that Drew is capable of leading this team effectively.

I think it has less to do on how his line or RB's play, and more to do with what's going on in Drew's head! Drew has to believe in his skills and translate that into his play. He hadn't done that for the last year and a half. Maybe he's turned a corner?

The big test is this Sunday. A win will go a long way at restoring DB's swagger. if he loses badly, he could turn back into a thumbsucking quivering mess.

  2. Did it even occur to you that the Patriots FORCE teams into these situations and FORCE turnovers?      How good does their record have to be over a span of 2 years for you to actually give them some credit?

For the record, they are 24-3 over their last 2 years worth of games that count.    Whats the Bills record over that time?

    106957

There is forcing a turnover. (which they do do...don't me wrong) Then there is saying "please knock the ball out of my hand!" Marc Bulger did that. I could have caused a turnover. Protect the ball...that's QB101...basic football. How about not covering the fake FG? Like I said...play the Pats and catch the "Stupids."

  3. The fumble call was correct.  That big guy had the ball.

But that hit on Brady was bogus.

I can't believe the Pats are winning this game with all the injuries they have.

Everyone was focusing on the ball to see if he recovered inbounds...but missed the fact his left foot was OUT OF BOUNDS before he landed on the ball!! By NFL rule...the ball is out of bounds as soon as he touches it. But in the words of Walt Coleman..."just give it to 'em"

  4. Oh great game DREW!!!....First and goal from the 2 and first and goal from the 6...and.......NO TOUCHDOWNS!!!....You were responsible for ONE touchdown this game. You didn't throw a horrendous interception. You played as well as you can play.--You made some nice clutch /accurate throws to sustain a couple of drives.

If it werent for the fumble recocery you would have produced 3 whole points in the first half.....--and THAT was after the first and goal from the 2...and luckily NY didn't have a replay left or we would have been squirming while Quincy threw hail marys into the endzone at the end in McGee's direction.

Ha ha ha ha...spoken like a true Jets fan L-O-S-E-R! I guess your 6-1 team isn't that good. Whaaaa! Get back to your corner and suck your thumb.

  5. In case everyone hasnt notice, BF is not a Bills fan, he's a hater and look at his post history, its all negative towards Bledsoe, Henry and the Bills as a team. He jumped "ship" long ago!!

    106647

Get off BF's back. DB deserved all the abuse he got before. But we all agree he played a terrific game today. The entire team (with the exception of Fast Freddie Smith and Terrence McGee) played well today. This is how you beat the good teams. The Pats game will be a season maker. Win that game, and 10-6 is very possible.

  6. Again he did all of the things that his critics have accused him of not being able to do. He stepped out of the rush over and over. He didnt turn the ball over. He ran a couple times. He threw a couple excellent clutch passes. He has the kind of game they want out of him. He just needs to do it more, and on the road, and consistent. But Willis has certainly helped. Evans came up huge. The line is playing much better. And the coaches are putting in positions to play well. He still, however, doesn't elevate the play of his teammates, make a lot out of nothing, audibilize well, or take the team by the horns and lead.

    106605

He absolutely did...he even showed some swagger out there. All the things that were missing since the Jax game last year. I hope this game is a breakthough for Drew. Maybe all his problems were mental and he has found a way to overcome them.

This was a good game to win going to New England next week. How huge would it be for the Bills to win in Foxboro in prime time? Talk about a statement game.

  7. Just read this column that Andre Reed wrote for the Bills official website.

    Andre's article

Sooo if one of the all time greats says it's a win, well I guess he's right.  :w00t:

    104454

You are right a win is a win. And if every team you will play this season will roll over and play dead like AZ and Miami, then the Bills are Super Bowl bound.

The dark side of "a win is a win.." is that there is no thought given to HOW the Bills win. One win, after losing a ton of games, doesn't make you a good team. Especially if you go back to losing again.

The people who criticize the way the Bills play, even after a win, are not trying to be negative. They want to see the Bills win every week. That means making plays, not making stupid mistakes, and generally playing better.

  8. As long as there is an NHL lockout, the Bills have us by the balls if we like it or not.  I'm a season ticket holder and haven't been called yet.  I wouldn't give the poor bastard that called me a hard time.  He's not the one putting the product on the field.

    103147

Hey, they can always leave town. Then you won't have to worry about how bad the Bills are.

  9. If you feel that strongly about it, e-mail him. This will likely get to him...

    He responds to most e-mails.

    101198

He NEVER responds to my e-mails...I must be one of the few. He may actually be one who holds grudges. I recall getting into an animated exchange on WNSA long ago. (about what I forget) He never took my call or responded to my e-mails since.

  10. If I had to make odds on what former NFL kicker would go nuts and start acting erratically, I wouldn't have listed Cole Ford.

    Weird.

Sounds like sequal material for Buffalo '66..."Vegas 2004!" Vincent Gallo, you paying attention?

  11. In other words,  a rookie coming off of a broken leg and out of a mid-major college program is completely ready to lead this team?

    100964

Just to be fair...Ben Rothlisberger came out of a mid-major program (Miami of Ohio) and he's tearing up the NFL. Drew Bledose was a #1 overall pick out of Washington, and 12 years later, he's STILL not ready to play in the NFL!

  12. And what he is suffering from is what all athletes suffer from after an injury. Post soreness and swelling in not only the area but around it as well. Working through it is the only answer.  He will have to deal with the pain if he wants to fully recover.

The thing that both cracks me up and at the same time, wants me to kick MM in the nuts is the "He's not ready" short and simple response.  Well hell no he isn't MM. You and tom donahoe have hitched your wagon to bledsoe. So of course he isnt ready. Nor will he be this entire year if it is up to you....even if to the rest of the world (Including JP) he actually is.

    100942

Ice. I read the article as well. Is it just soreness, or is his injury not totally healed? Considering JP's strength is his mobility, is rushing him back going to ruin his career? We may have to go without him the rest of the year, much as it pains me. I keep hoping Bledsoe gets knocked out a few series just to see Shane Matthews in a game situation. I want to know what he can really do, not just the "expert" opinions of TBD posters.

  13. Howard,

Does your contract with WGR prevent you from pursuing independant projects?

With the demise of WNSA and Empire, there is not a single Bills/Buffalo sports talk show available on the web for Buffalo ex-pats like us. While moving back to the old town is a nice idea, it is impractical for most of us.

Would you consider producing a daily Simoncast for internet-only consumption? Even a weekly chat for out-of-town Bills freaks? Maybe even something done in conjuction with Two Bills Drive?

The cost of streaming has come down quite a bit, especially for a voice-quality mono stream. You could find a sponsor, or even try to do a subscription show. (As long as the price is modest!) The beauty of internet radio is that you know EXACTLY how many ears are listening and when. You can even have the show available live, and also on-demand the rest of the time.

I really believe there is a demand for this. You have already created a market for this through the Empire stream. Why let this audience go to waste? I would be happy to talk about the nuts and bolts with you. I'm sure Scott (SDS) can offer some good advice as well.

  14. The USA is now a one party government, like the Baaths in Iraq, or the Soviets and Chinese. They keep the Democrats around for show. I wonder if they will even bother having another election in '08, or will they just declare "W" President-for-life!
