Emmitt Smith: Not Likely to Return to Cardinals
sfladave replied to Drew-to-Boys's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That is a very good point that I never considered before. -
At least he explained his position and supported his opinion. If you disagree with something point out what it is you disagree with and support your arguement.

To fellow Bills fans on message board
sfladave replied to Happy Days Lois & Clark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I breaking news today Tom Donahoe, GM of the Buffalo Bills, announced the trade of Travis Henry to _____, for a 1st and 2nd round pick. Regarding the trade Donahoe said, "It wouldn't have been possible without the support of Buffalo fans who hyped Henry on other teams BBs. I myself base my decisions on the input I get from TSW." -
Comparison of Stadium wall to other message board
sfladave replied to freester's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like reading your posts, I usually find them logical and coherent. I also know better to open one if I'm busy or about to go somewhere. Comparing TSW to the other boards, the biggest thing that really sticks out is that we don't allow HUGE pictures in our signature area! I find that to be very annoying and distracting. As far as content goes I think that we are well above average with respect to insightful and informative posts. We like every other board have our share of idiots and homers, but our board does have that neighborly and supportive feeling to it. HUGE props go to Scott for creating this family that I am a proud member of! -

If it wasn't so sad it would be hilarious. So much for what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. I guess you need to make it to Vegas first for that to apply. -
Owner of the Buffalo Bills!

Andre Reed?

I think that Moss has the athletic ability to become one of the best WRs of all time. The problem is he doesn't have work ethic, attitude or HEART to do so. Jerry Rice was probably an overacheiver in terms of his accomplishments compared to his talent. Randy Moss is his bizarro world counterpart. All time great receivers not only make the catches, yards after the catch and touchdowns, but their possitive attributes also rub off on their teamates. :I starred in Brokeback Mountain: Randy Moss. Now if the trade was for Marvin Harrison, we'd just be discussing how it would be a trade that will never happen.

Barney without a doubt! Buuurrrrpppp!
-
Although I'm not a fan of Moss's attitude, he is a difference maker. Just look at the offensive production drop off when he is not in or if he's in but not nearly 100%. Moss is arguably the most talented receiver in the league and he can make BIG plays and does draw double and triple coverage. This opens up other receivers and the running game. His problem is that he lacks HEART.

Pollard to be released/take huge pay cut
sfladave replied to DreamOnDan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Euhus or Campbell MAY be our answer at TE, BUT both are hurt with knee injuries. We need some insurance and a solid starting TE with proven abilities would be a welcome addition to this team. We don't know how long it will take either of them to recover 100% and we have NO depth at the position. I would welcome Franks, Pollard or Jones, and in that order. -
there is a reason Modrak is still in Buffalo..
sfladave replied to bluenews's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And you know this how? I don't mind laying blame on someone for bad decsions, if they are in fact bad decisions. I do mind laying the blame on someone for bad decisions without something to substantiate that blame. I have never read or seen anything that has stated Modrak is responsible for any of these decisions. Could you enlighten us with some links or collaboration? As for you points: 1. Everyone in the front office has come out in strong support of Bledsoe, including Ralph and TD. No surprise here that Modrak was in agreement with the company line. Although the winds seemed to have shifted on this point. 2. Who could be sure that McGee was ready to start at CB? It is one of the hardest positions to play in the NFL and pure athleticism simply won't cut it. Bringing Vincent in was an excellent way to solidify the position with depth and experience. I think you will be hard pressed to find many Bills supporters to say Vincent's signing was detrimental to the Bills organization. 3. What coaching staff did he disagree with? Reese and Wire have shown that they cannot be consistent starters at Safety, but I don't think that anyone's game plan was to have either of them here long term, as starters, going into this preseason. 4. Who are these failed scouts? Are they the ones that found 4 different undrafted FAs who contributed mightily to the Bills successes this year? SUBSTANTIATE! My final point will be that although Modrak may have some say in the form of advice, isn't it Tom Donahoe who ultimately makes the decisions and should therefore be the one who is responsible for them? -

Bucs interested in Travis, have the picks to offer
sfladave replied to Bob4Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What sort of RB would Tampa get for a 2nd rounder? He also comes MUCH cheper than any other FA RB, next years salary is only 1.5M I think. A 2nd is not as crazy as it sounds. -
OT: Can someone explain the NHL to me?
sfladave replied to JoeF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What these two sides need to do is get some common sense. Both sides are being hurt by the damage that they're doing to their fan base. It took MLB years (plus some steroids, juiced balls and corked bats) to win back the fans they lost after its last strike. The NHL doesn't have the sizable fan base, long traditions and TV contracts that MLB had to help them recover. I think that the NFL has proven its business model is ideal for the owners, players and fans. Too bad greed and short sightedness have taken hold in the NHL because it could kill the owners, players and fan base. To quote Voltaire, "Common sense is not so common." -
Hacker reads Paris Hilton's email This made me laugh my ass off! “It became obvious to her what was going on,” says the source. “She was pretty upset about it. It’s one thing to have people looking at your sex tapes, but having people reading your personal e-mails is a real invasion of privacy.” What is more private than sex tapes?

Giants concessions liable in $60M suit
sfladave replied to millbank's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I bartended for years and when things were busy it was very hard to tell if someone was intoxicated. Unless they're completely slurring their words or cannot stand up you usually couldn't tell. Everyone knows how busy those vendors are durring games and short of giving everyone a breathalizer you could never stop someone from drinking too much. The other thing to consider is that he wasn't even the one who purchased the drinks, it could have been a buddy doing the buying. -

(LAMP)DSL & Cavalier Telephone Service Info
sfladave replied to The Poojer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know BellSouth wil offer DSL even if you don't subscribe to their phone service. It is much more expensive, $65 range, but if it is available in your area you should be able to order directly from Verizon. Did you ask Verizon if that was possible? -

Q. How do you say "Give me liberty or give me death!" in French? A. I give up. Q. How many Frenchmen does it take to defend Paris? A. Nobody knows. It's never been tried.
