  1. My mistake. Still, I've never been a big fan of "if you take away all his short runs" or "if you take away his one big run" arguments. You are what you are. It's just as unfair to take away all of McGahee's unproductive carries and paint him as a 5.0 YPC back as it is to take away all his big runs and paint him as a sub-2.0 YPC back.
  2. Interesting thing about that, there's a possibility it's not actually him. Sounds crazy, but consider this: 1 - James Earl Jones has stated recently (well after the teaser would've been completed) that he has not yet been contacted about doing voice work for Episode III. and: 2 - many true hardcore Star wars geeks have noticed that the inflection of the Vader line in the trailer (specifically, the "er" in "master") sounds far more like the actor who plays Anakin than it sounds like Jones. They're right. Listen to Jones say "master" in TESB and ROTJ, and then listen to Anakin say it in AOTC. That said, it could just be a discarded line from Episode V or VI. But it's still something interesting to think about.
  3. You might want to check your numbers again. 37 carries for 132 yards is good for a 3.6 YPC average.
  4. Kickass! Looks like it's going to be AWESOME.
  5. If the Pats get an early lead, it's over. If the Bills can keep it close or grab the lead early on, they've got a chance. At least that's my take.
  6. No such person exists, genius.
  7. I'll cry if Araft dies. Tears of happiness.
  8. Translation: "I can't." Here is Kerry, in his own words saying that he would not strike preemptively unless we passed the all-important "global test:" Case closed.
  9. Thanks for that wonderful, substance-filled post. I used Kerry's own words against him, and you can't defend him for it, so you just say "you're wrong." Nice. Post again when you can actually refute a single thing I said.
  10. Because he's basically said as much all throughout his campaign. Let's go through the BIG 3: 1 - Global test. 'Nuff said. No one who thinks we have to pass a "global test" before we use OUR OWN MILITARY should ever become President. 2 - "If we are attacked, we will strike back" (or something to that effect). The point is to make sure we don't get attacked again, not vow to strike back if we do. This comment showed me that Kerry will not attempt to root out terror where it starts through pre-emptive strikes, and that is troubling. 3 - His obsession with not using force against other countries without the approval/participation of the two most corrupt nations on the UNSC - France and Germany. If elected, he will allow these two countries (and the entire U.N., really) to decide if and when we use our military power. Not good.
  11. EVERYONE should be interested in who Bin Laden (and other terrorists) want to win the election, because that reveals who will be softer on global terror and who we SHOULDN'T vote for.
  12. Yeah, I'm sure that Bin Laden is simply thrilled that his terror organization has been crippled beyond repair by the U.S. military under Bush.
  13. He's a good 700 lbs. lighter, for starters.
  14. I really don't understand using this stat to defend Bledsoe. It tells me that teams are stacking the line inside the 20 because they know that Drew is one of the worst red zone QBs playing today. Defenses challenge the Bills to beat them with the pass near the goal line, and they can't.
  15. Just to clarify, I was talking only of the HoF website's weekly top 20 all-time statistical rankings.
  16. We agree, no stat should be used as the sole measuring stick of a player's greatness. That said, if you're going to use a stat, one that incorporates multiple aspects of a player's game (like passer rating) would be better than that doesn't.
  17. First off, let me correct my word usage. The site ranks rushers by rushing yards, receivers by receiving yards, and passers by passer rating. Position doesn't really matter as long as the numbers are there. Secondly, receiving yards are the only statistic by which to measure TEs, since the NFL does not record blocking statistics. That said, no player at any position should ever be judged purely by statistics.
  18. I'm not talking about their induction practices. I'm talking about the HoF weekly top 20 list that ranks RBs by rushing yards, WRs and TEs by receiving yards, and QBs by passer rating, NOT passing yardage.
  19. Fabricated and flawed or not, I'll take a formula that takes ALL passing statistics into account over a single stat that is among the least important used to judge the success of a passer. The fact that Bledsoe has the 11th most passing yards of all time shows just how meaningless a statistic it is. His career defines mediocrity. Whether you like it or not, the Pro Football Hall of Fame uses passer rating to judge QBs, and that should be good enough for anyone.
  20. That link seems to only mention passing yards. I see no mention of passer rating, the statistic that the NFL actually uses to judge its passers.
  21. I don't know where you get your figures from, but Bledsoe is not even among the top 20 passers in the history of professional football.
  22. All those people who were on the plane that "supposedly" hit the pentagon will be very pleased to hear this news. Now they can stop being dead, and start living again now that it's been revealed by crackpot interenet conspiracy theorists that a plane never hit the pentagon.
  23. There are a number of QB rating calculators on the web. I currently use this one, but there are a bunch of others to choose from.
