  1. I agree, the whole Mangini situation will be pretty interesting to watch. Looks like one of Mangini/Pees will be the Pats' DC, but I'm optimistic that it'll be Mangini. He and BB have a really good relationship, and I'm hoping that will be the x-factor in him returning to New England.
  2. I think it's more likely that Saban goes after Dean Pees, the current Pats' LB coach. Pats have denied Saban the right to interview him at the moment, but I bet they'll allow it after the season. Saban and Pees coached together at LSU, I believe.
  3. I've heard that Jeff Davidson is the early favorite for OC, while Eric Mangini is the odds-on likely choice for DC. Both are current Pats' assistants.
  4. You're basing your entire opinion of the guy on two subjective plays against a team you're biased towards? Football is a rough sport. There are 22 guys on the field for any given play, and they're all moving as fast as they can. People get hit. That's the game. Maybe it's just too early in the morning, but I don't recall an incident betwen Harrison and Delhomme in the SB.
  5. I don't consider a guy playing the game as it was meant to be played to be dirty. I think he'll "go after" Owens in so much as he'll try to hit him as hard as he can whenever he has the ball (should Owens play, that is). Harrison cried about not making the Pro Bowl? News to me. Source?
  6. On SportsCenter, he was asked about the Pats' secondary, and responded by saying that he didn't even know their names, just their numbers (Mitchell couldn't even get those right, as he listed a #25 who doesn't exist). Then he said that he knew that #37 was Harrison, and that he "has something for him" on Super Bowl Sunday. Subsequently, Harrison and McGinest unloaded on him and said that a guy who has produced as little as he has is foolish to talk such trash.
  7. The Pats getting rattled by opposing smacktalk?! Please. They LIVE for this sh--. Freddy "I'm a special player" Mitchell specifically calling out Rodney Harrison essentially IS suicide. He'll be lucky to walk off in one piece.
  8. The one where Brady started and left with a lead? In that case, basball managers routinely win game WITHOUT their starting pitchers. Is that the logic you're using here?
  9. I think he denied that rumor, meaning he's free for you! You might want to get your eyes checked.
  10. Don't let it get to you. There are other fish in the sea. I hear Ben Roethlisberger is looking for someone to obsess over him, if you're interested.
  11. Someone's got a crush. Sorry guy, I think he's spoken for. Going out with some actress-type.
  12. We won't get into that again. Look this is a circular argument. I keep trying to tell you the facts, and you keep trying to tell me why they don't matter. I think I'll just let your laughable record (Colts will beat Pats in blowout, Steelers will beat pats in blowout, backing Bledsoe) speak for itself on this matter.
  13. There's this thing called the "salary cap," you know. Or are you arguing that Antowain Smith and Bert Emanuel are top-shelf FAs? You're certainly right there, from a semantical standpoint. No player in the history of the NFL has been the only reason his team wins. That said, you don't give Brady nearly enough credit, given the dramatic shift in the team's record from the very game he stepped in. Pats were 0-2 in '01 with Bledsoe. Not sure what you're referencing. Those two games were not isolated incidents. They were merely an end to a pitiful 7-19 run that the Pats endured with Bledsoe at the helm. Indeed. But they were still 5-13 without Brady.
  14. Wicked. Gonna be cool to see Darth Vader in his prime, before he needed an iron lung.
  15. I never said it was the same team, I said the talent levels were comparable. In your quest to deprive Brady of all credit, you fail to realize, or choose to ignore, that the super-terrific-awesomely-new-and-improved 2001 Patriots still looked like crap in the first two games of 2001. Yes, I now Antowain Smith didn't start those two games, but we now that Antowain Smith sucks. Hell, his numbers for that year weren't even that good! Brown started in 2000.
  16. Replaced them with what? Guys off the street, other teams' garbage and ex-arena-leaguers, that's what. Did you intentionally contradict yourself there? What's the deal? As evidenced by your crusade-like posts on this topic. Isn't it about time for you to guarantee an Eagles blowout?
  17. Oh, come on! Are you saying C-3PO was around for anything other than comic relief? Still, you're right. They're not exactly the same. That said, many of the elements that people HATE the prequels for (cheesy dialogue, campy acting) are just as prevalent in Eps. 4-6.
  18. Troy Brown in his prime. Terry Glenn (who is more physically gifted than any regular receiver Brady's ever had). Kevin Faulk, who was essentially the Pats' lead back last year (for most of the year, anyway). Hell, Joe Andruzzi was even in there. Suffice it to say, the talent level is not that different, and pre-Dillon, the non-QB offensive TALENT might've been a little better in 2000 than in 2001-2003. All these street FAs and ex-arena-leaguers just look BETTER around Brady. I wonder why? We're talking about the OFFENSE here. Try to keep up. Have fun trying to convince yourself of the Pats' illegitimacy. The rest of us don't give a sh--. 8-0 and counting!
  19. I love the prequels, personally. If you try to watch them like an actual movie (where believeable dialogue and natural dialogue delivery are of the utmost importance), you'll hate them. But if you view them in context and take them for what they are (action-packed, campy space operas), they're a lot of fun. The OT was exactly the same, but today's prequel-bashers are blinded by the sentimental feelings they have for those films, and are unable to view them objectively in a side-by-side comparison to the prequels.
  20. Yep, Weis's offense looked great in 2000 when Brady wasn't leading it. And oh yeah, how are the Colts and Steelers doing these days? Don't you ever get tired of being dead wrong?
  21. I guess this proves that stats can be deceiving since I thought the Pats' OL was subpar this season.
  22. Lucas had originally planned to do 9 parts, but he summed up the contents of 7-9 into Episode 6, ROTJ. There's no point in doing any more episode, since the saga's main character dies in episode 6.
  23. Hi! I still love them.
  24. You may not believe this, but some people find my Donahoe avatars offensive, so I decided to give it a rest for a spell. Not to worry, though, I'll probably make a new Donahoe avatar designed to mock his first move in free agency. Millen, sadly, was before my time by a year. As for Zolak, I remember him being intensely mediocre at best in his backup role.
  25. 1993 - This was my first year seriously following football. Before that, I'd known the rules and how it was played an whatnot, but I'd never really had a favorite team since I lived in New York and didn't really care about the Giants, Jets or Bills. Long story short, I knew someone with New England connections who got me interested in the Pats, and I started following them because they seemed like an interesting reclamation project. Despite the horrid start, I was hooked within a few weeks, and was encouraged by the strong finish. 1994 - Awesome year, filled with great performances by Bledsoe. I was sure he was going to be one of the all time greats, even if he was still a litle raw (see 27 INTs). Little did I know . Was devestated to see them go one and done in the playoffs. 1995 - Blech. Thought the team was on an upswing after the significant '94 improvement, but they moved backwards again. Curtis Martin was a huge bright spot, though. 1996 - In another of my miscalculations, I though the Pats' new "triplets" of Bledsoe, Martin and Glenn would become the best in the league. Oops. At least they were up there for a couple years. Still, great year followed by a crushing loss on the big stage. 1997 - Pissed at Parcells but euphoric over Carroll's hot start. Then the bad times set in, but we still make the playoffs. On the brink of beating Pittsburgh to advance to the AFC title game again, but you know the rest. 1998 - Thought Robert Edwards was on his way to a great Pats career (oops again, although this time it was due to injury). Very sad, early playoff exit after advancing to at least the divisional round two years running. 1999 - HUGE disappointment to go 8-8 after a 6-2 start. Thought that was going to be "the year." The point where I became fed up with Bledsoe. There you go. Anything else you'd like me to type up for you?
